- AaronH, on 01/12/2009, -2/+65First pro Bush story I have seen on Digg in 3 years.
- kigcoopa84, on 01/12/2009, -15/+72Yes but before you praise him keep in mind Bush invented aids and mailed it to Africa because he hates black people. He also invented Nazi’s and mosquitoes. And also the sun which one day will expand, blow up, and destroy the earth.
- redslash, on 01/12/2009, -9/+48Bush, like it or not, accomplished a lot of things during his tenure. A lot were good, a lot more were bad.
The Democratic Congress has not accomplished anything. The GOP Congress before it accomplished very little.
Therefore Bush rightly receives blame when America does bad things, and rightly receives credit for American humanitarian work and the other good deeds of the USA over the past eight years. - silent128, on 01/12/2009, -6/+33One of the good things George W. Bush has done while in office. I hope we can expand on some of these projects and help out instead of pumping foreign aid to stupid things like paying North Korea not to make nukes.

- akchrs, on 01/12/2009, -12/+33Yes, lets not blame the democratically controlled Congress for anything.
- donkz, on 01/12/2009, -7/+27Kanye West will be pleased to know that George Bush cares about SOME black people...
at least in africa - Sleekery, on 01/12/2009, -3/+20 I like all the people that act like giving Africa $15 to prevent AIDS is somehow bad. Come on, give credit where credit is due. Even if you don't agree with all his laws, actions, and policies, and I don't either, please at least acknowledge the benefits he has provided to millions.
- inactive, on 01/12/2009, -2/+19Being in Africa, I appreciate Bush's efforts to help fight AIDS . Look people, although he's unpopular in many places due to the war, we have to give the man credit where it is due, he has spent more on Africa than any other U.S president.
- csxero, on 01/12/2009, -16/+33Bush receiving praise? Get the ***** out.
- poprocksandsoda, on 01/13/2009, -1/+15Actually when those pictures were taken of him watching the women volleyballers ... he got some positive feedback too.
- S7aind, on 01/13/2009, -0/+14Nice to see a pro-bush article on Digg. I don't like him much but this is respectable.
To all the anti-Bush comments, read the article then comment, instead of just going with an anti-Bush statements. - csxero, on 01/13/2009, -0/+13My get the ***** out is more of a "no way" than dismissing this. I don't actually hate bush, I've just noticed how much grief he gets, shocking to see him praised for once.
- SpitTheTruth, on 01/12/2009, -3/+16Now that he's leaving office we can stop blaming him for everything and start thanking him for what he actually did do.
- inactive, on 01/12/2009, -4/+16But the media and the little kids tell me Bush is evil... does... not... computeeeehjk9iy8ho8hbojkl
- mmittimm, on 01/12/2009, -0/+12As opposed to the other Bono?
- fandyboy, on 01/12/2009, -2/+13I love the way people would rather blindly hate Bush even if he is responsible for saving millions of African lives, it makes their tiny brains explode.
- loudmouth11, on 01/13/2009, -0/+10I see how everyone is hating Bush, I know a ton of people think that he screwed up a lot of things I cannot disagree with you, but he does deserve credit for the good things he has done.
- fandyboy, on 01/13/2009, -1/+11When's the new album out Kanye?
- Stevanoski, on 01/12/2009, -1/+11"Kanye West will be pleased to know that George Bush cares about SOME black people..."
Hmmm, wonder how many SOME black people there are in Africa? - mmittimm, on 01/12/2009, -2/+12Did you even read the article? Or do you not know what "treat" means?
- redslash, on 01/12/2009, -0/+9Not to completely discount Bono's good work, but I think most people knew about it before he started really going after it.
- rdizzle, on 01/12/2009, -3/+12i think it's a trick. nothing nice ever makes front page of Digg if it's about Bush... true or not.
- kigcoopa84, on 01/12/2009, -1/+10Umm, I don't think so.
- dha07030, on 01/12/2009, -1/+9Die or suffered because we didn't *give* them money? Sorry, I can't feel bad if that's the case.
- inactive, on 01/13/2009, -1/+8At least he did something praiseworthy in his presidency. His work in Africa is likely to be his one shining star.
- csxero, on 01/13/2009, -2/+9click click click
- inactive, on 01/12/2009, -27/+34George Bush does not care about black people.
- Louis11, on 01/13/2009, -0/+7Uhm, S7aind clearly stated that he doesn't like him . . .
- NightC, on 01/12/2009, -1/+7Can you explain to me with any amount of detail how Bush trashed the U.S. economy? I mean I want you to point to the steps he actually took that trashed the economy. I already know you can't because that is BS, the president does not make day to day decisions that have massive effects on the U.S. or World economy and esp. without Congress. Even so, you still couldn't name anything he did to ruin the economy. In fact, I am willing to bet you will cop out and say something like "Well the war in Iraq costs us so much money that..." or " If he would have handled Katrina better then..."
- fandyboy, on 01/13/2009, -1/+7OK cool csxero, point taken.
- Claverhouse, on 01/12/2009, -4/+10Well, AIDS affects very few Americans --- according to the article, 100x more Africans ( 15k USA deaths; 1.5 million African deaths, yearly ) --- so it's a rather bigger problem over there.
Besides which, condom use is barely important since rapists rarely pull on a rubber first, and in South Africa, which presently holds the world championship for rape, their pastime is the leading cause of AIDS.
*And, medical researchers warn, this is all mainly due to the pervading culture of rape, in which an annual 500,000 females of all ages are raped from the smallest babies to old women*
*More than 25% of all the females of South Africa, (pop.47-million) even from early babyhood onward, can expect to be raped at least once. Countrywide, last year's latest available statistics from the SA Child Protection Unit noted that some 16,068 children were reported raped last year - out of the total 36,190 rapes reported.* http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/264771
That article references the fact that men there beat women for using contraceptives; but I still suggest that compulsory condom use would have little affect among people who believe that raping a baby can 'cure or prevent HIV/AIDS'. Which implies a slight lack of scientific expertise. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/from_our_own ... - bizzywho, on 01/12/2009, -0/+6...which is why you'll pay for sex the rest of your life
- inactive, on 01/13/2009, -1/+7He also started a trading program with Africa that has brought billions in revenue to many impoverished African countries (African Growth and Opportunity Act).
I guess George Bush really does love Black people (and judging from his last trip to Africa, they love him too..well Africans love him). Too bad he couldn't do something this great domestically. - miralize, on 01/13/2009, -0/+5where are the other ones?
- iEATcatFOOD, on 01/13/2009, -0/+5/Which is more than Kanye West cares.
- encrypter, on 01/13/2009, -0/+5Giving $15 to africa is pretty cheap, if you ask me.
- MetalHead73, on 01/13/2009, -1/+6I don't get taught Abstinence, I'm an 11th Grade High School student.
Where the ***** are you getting your education? - csxero, on 01/13/2009, -0/+5My get the ***** out is more of a "no way" than dismissing this. I don't actually hate bush, I've just noticed how much grief he gets, shocking to see him praised for once.
- fandyllic, on 01/12/2009, -7/+12Actually Bush's aid in Africa actually allowed less birth control and STD protection methods (aka condoms and sex education) than recommended by most AIDS experts.
So, his policy in Africa was just as stupid as in America. - iizh, on 01/13/2009, -0/+5Learn to read, Drog.
- edstate, on 01/12/2009, -6/+11While you are a zillion percent right... but still, Bush should've simply said NO to all those over budget bills from both parties.
- FuzzplugJones, on 01/12/2009, -0/+5He had to dig up Reagan and make him uninvent AIDS, too! He has magic powers because of Halliburton. Or something.
- SpitTheTruth, on 01/13/2009, -0/+5Abstinence prevents the spread of Sexually transmitted disease.
The idea of being abstinent prior to marriage allows a couple to act on all their sexual impulses without risk of contracting an STD.
The lack of abstinence is what spreads STD's.
This is why they're teaching abstinence because people have the same misunderstanding as you about abstinence. This has been a free sex ed lesson. Enjoy. - jetsetter883, on 01/13/2009, -0/+5Unfortunately it's a cultural thing as well. African men are extremely promiscuous with many wives and are more than just a little responsible for this mess.
- Stap1eGun, on 01/13/2009, -3/+7I agree redslash, and this is definitely a positive thing that he deserves some credit for. Unfortunately mediocrity is not one of the qualities I look for in the 'leader of the free world', therefore Bush still gets two thumbs down from me.
- banshee90, on 01/13/2009, -0/+4people are working on that one guy was curred by getting the bone marrow of a HIV resistant donor, but this isnt going to be used in most cases because of high cost and you have to basically kill the immune system the only reason why they did it was because the guy also had Leukemia. but i am sure in the future they will derive a cure from the resistant genes of some people

It can always be better. Aids is a horrible disease, and the sooner the world destroys it the better. Bush has ***** up a lot of things, and Digg calls him on it. But we have to be fair. If you want to criticize someone when they do wrong, you need to praise them when they do well. I'm no GWB fan by any stretch, but in this sense, I'm proud of him. One thing about GWB that has always fascinated me is, no matter how bad he bumbles something, it seems his heart is always in the right place. He really does believe the stupid things he says. He wants the world to be a better place after his presidency than before it, why wouldn't he? He has no motive to want to be hated. Think about it. If you were president, and had all the pressure and decisions to make. And no matter what you do, there is a large group pf people who have already decided they are against you and will fight and criticize you. Maybe then you would sympathize more. Basically, I'm saying that just because we don't always agree with him, doesn't mean we have to always nitpick, when he does something right, give him his due. - jetsetter883, on 01/13/2009, -0/+4i wish that statement didn't read as accurate but unfortunately it does.
