- inactive, on 09/17/2008, -0/+4This question is no question at all. LIFE begins at conception. End of story...
- inactive, on 09/17/2008, -0/+4By "out of the ground," I mean archeology in gen'l & petroleum specifically.
It happens that I also believe human life begins at conception, but I do NOT trust "scientists" to agree—and it matters not one whit to me whether they do.
I also agree that the US has been saddled w/worthless paper fiat f/quite a while [as you noted elsewhere] & that most 3rd party candidates—w/exception of CAMcK—are not afraid of speaking the truth in this matter. So, it appears we are close to being on the same page, if not THE same page. - Literaturfan, on 09/17/2008, -2/+6BABIES have the right to live!
- metapop, on 09/17/2008, -0/+2i don't understand what you mean by "what comes out of the ground".
i personally believe that if life truly does begin at conception (which i honestly do), science will vindicate this belief, so i have nothing to be afraid of in terms of scientists researching this matter. - inactive, on 09/17/2008, -3/+4They didn't get "what comes out of the ground" right; what makes you believe they can be trusted on any issue except putting their own trousers on correctly?
I'll trust the Instruction Book, thank you very much. - uncleosbert, on 09/19/2008, -0/+1why would none of you discuss this with me? my comment got buried, and all i did was show you the statute that protects abortion survivors.
why is that wrong? do you want to protect children or not? - metapop, on 09/17/2008, -3/+3the question of whether abortion is just or unjust can really be boiled down to one question: when is it right to take an innocent person's life? of course, the answer is never. this makes the abortion question a scientific one rather than a moral one, as the moral question has an obvious answer- that it's never right to take an innocent person's life. there should be a consortium of scientists formed to answer the question with the less obvious answer- when does life begin...? i think that is a very reasonable conclusion to a very controversial issue.
- uncleosbert, on 09/17/2008, -3/+3"Illinois compiled statute 720 ILCS 510/6 states that physicians performing abortions when the fetus is viable must use the procedure most likely to preserve the fetus' life; must be attended by another physician who can care for a born-alive infant; and must "exercise the same degree of professional skill, care and diligence to preserve the life and health of the child as would be required of a physician providing immediate medical care to a child born alive in the course of a pregnancy termination which was not an abortion." Failure to do any of the above is considered a felony."

the way to attack issues that matter, is by focusing on the issues. did you really think it was legal to kill babies in illinois, and obama did nothing?
