- emiller, on 12/16/2007, -1/+61holy *****, Obama is black??
- inactive, on 12/16/2007, -5/+50Hillary Clinton went from Ms. Inevitability to 'Evil' in no time flat for putting her eggs in the Iraq war basket. She's triangulating around the issue, but it's so transparent. If I didn't know better, I'd say she's more conservative than all Democratic and many "Republicans" running for the GOP nomination.
- fusuke31, on 12/16/2007, -1/+44Those facts are not very "fun" at all.
- inactive, on 12/16/2007, -8/+42Who would have thought, the Ron Paul Revolution would be such a powerful movement! Libertarians / Conservatives aren't typically regarded as being political activists.
- ThisWoodIsGood, on 12/16/2007, -6/+29All so true...
I feel like its coming to Obama and Paul - phnx0221, on 12/16/2007, -3/+25While I myself am not a Ron Paul supporter, I have to admit, his supporters have put together the most impressive grassroots campaign I have ever seen. I've got to hand it to them, they've taken their support for their candidate and have really pushed the bar. I think it's a lot easier for everyday people to really see that their actions can and will make a difference.
- ChromaVita, on 12/16/2007, -4/+21Yea, but like Tiger Woods black, not Tupac black.
He's like Will smith black, but not Fresh Prince black. - Neuticals, on 12/16/2007, -6/+23Hmmm...not very fun, nor very factual. And quite biased.
Sounds like a Bury to me. - woofers07, on 12/16/2007, -1/+15I'd be happy with an Obama v Paul election, it would be as close to a win-win as you could get.
- stillasleep00, on 12/16/2007, -0/+13That or Paul v Kucinich
- ChromaVita, on 12/16/2007, -2/+15They were also not all facts.
- phnx0221, on 12/16/2007, -4/+15When she was in high school (and in college I believe), she was a member of the young republicans. Ironically, while she was serving in many organization concerned with child welfare, she was also the head attorney for Wal-Mart, during their scandal with child labor in the late 80's, early 90's. Greg Palast (investigative journalist for the Guardian and UK Observer) attempted to contact her after Wal Mart had put out several press releases stating that they do not condone the use of child labor, and have enacted strict guidelines to make sure that none of their factories employ children. He had found out that several children did in fact still work in these factories, but they were hidden from the view of child labor enforcers. She declined to comment, and never got back to him when he called.
Yeah, I would say that she is certainly far more conservative than any of the Democrats running for President, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. - spyd3rweb, on 12/16/2007, -1/+11The GOP used to be Anti-war, could happen again.
- Gabberwok, on 12/16/2007, -4/+12There are a lot of people who don't like anything about Ron Paul except his stance on the war. It is about left and right.
- chubbybubba, on 12/16/2007, -3/+11Article is accurate in that it calls them Fun facts and not actual facts.
- bomb288, on 12/16/2007, -3/+11It could be a complete turnaround for the GOP. The republican being more against the war than the democrat. who knows where it'll lead.
- polymyxin, on 12/16/2007, -3/+11This whole "young Republican" attack is *****. Her work with the YRs was 40 years ago. I'd say most people have some changes in their political views between age 20 and age 60.
- bootlegged, on 12/16/2007, -3/+11Since when can you label someting as "facts" but expect it to be taken as "opinion"?
- loganhid, on 12/16/2007, -0/+7It'll be a grand day when people see each other by their actions and not their skin colour
- unearth, on 12/16/2007, -0/+7He's half white and half black. Calling him white is just as accurate as saying that he's black, if you want to get technical.
- OregonTrail, on 12/16/2007, -1/+6I read that as "electron"
o.o - edwartica, on 12/16/2007, -0/+5"Hillary Clinton is too conservative (and pro-Bush) for most Democrats."
Yep! Its why I won't vote for her in the primaries. - SiNN4R, on 12/16/2007, -2/+7Obama is the only candidate that I think could be a challenge for Ron Paul. None of the other democrats represent change at all except maybe Kucinich who doesn't really stand a chance.
- PBMainiac3, on 12/16/2007, -0/+4put down the beer, mate.
- woofers07, on 12/16/2007, -0/+4sadly the media won't allow Kucinich to get that far.
- NoStoppingUs, on 12/16/2007, -1/+5i'm in the same boat. i cant stand ron paul, but i'm certainly taking notes. 6% away from second place in SC? jesus.
- hellas1g7, on 12/16/2007, -1/+5the word "facts" is a little misleading
- anselm83, on 12/16/2007, -1/+4I don't know how you can honestly look at the rise of the hard Right in the last 30 years and say conservatives aren't typically regarded as political activists. The entire debate has skewed right - the very words we use to frame issues are all taken from conservative rhetoric. The meteoric rise of the Religious Right is just one evidence of the activism conservatives have harnassed, building an entire party platform off of shrill indignation.
- Eleo, on 12/16/2007, -3/+6Gravel said it before it was cool.
- NoStoppingUs, on 12/16/2007, -1/+3dude. we get the point. stop bitching, especially when the word "fact" is actually in the title.
- Tangeuray, on 12/16/2007, -0/+2Well my point was that RP is stealing Democrats/Independants/Republicans.... Obama is getting Democrats/Independants/ Not so many Republicans and IMO thats the edge to RP vs any Democrat. I am a democrat converted to RP's message.I do hope Obama to be on final ballot incase RP fails the GOP.
- Charron, on 12/16/2007, -1/+3I'm almost the opposite. I like Ron Paul, I'd probably vote for him, but I'm constantly annoyed by his supporters. They're good people and I applaud what they're doing, they just annoy me.
- GhostyBoy, on 12/19/2007, -0/+1Wow, really? Thanks for letting me know. Thanks to your buried comment I'm sure everyone will see the light and not vote for him.
Trolls, give it up. No one cares about your stupid opinions. - mikebaldwin67, on 12/16/2007, -2/+3I'd call it sensational journalism, but its not journalism. Its a strewn together list of 15 poorly connected half-truths.
1. Obama is not in the overall lead in the polls
2. I've never heard any debate that the GOP is losing voters because of sex scandals, let alone crippled by it.
3. Really only 14 'facts' since sex scandals are used twice.
4. All of the articles sources were links to their own website which just paraphrases news articles and adds a heavy bias. - GhostyBoy, on 12/19/2007, -0/+1Do you think the American people will team up and get you the police state you've always wanted?
- GhostyBoy, on 12/19/2007, -0/+1Nice one.
- gnmae, on 12/16/2007, -2/+3Another "fun" fact: my 21st birthday is the day before the day of the 2008 election.
- inactive, on 12/17/2007, -1/+1Well, that WOULD explain a lot of Republican behavior.
The mercenary act of marrying an opposing figure because they might do well is a very Young Republican thing to do.
The lack of ethics that would require seems to be par for the course for the GOP, so maybe you are right. - NoStoppingUs, on 12/16/2007, -6/+6yes. especially when you marry someone who you believe has a bright political career ahead of them and just *happens* to be a member of the opposite party.
convenient, isnt it? - lolo2007, on 02/11/2008, -0/+0Hillary Clinton went from Ms. Inevitability to 'Evil' in no time flat for putting her eggs in the Iraq war basket. http://download.paramegsoft.com/ - inactive, on 12/16/2007, -5/+4not to mention that it's posted in political OPINION.. so people need to just relax. :)
- themastersb, on 12/16/2007, -2/+1It's UFOs fault that I believe in UFOs. Showing up in that sky and all that.... what do they think they are?
- polymyxin, on 12/16/2007, -3/+2Yes, let's just assume Hillary's entire life after college has been a sham and that none of her emotions are real. That's the logical position to take.
- inactive, on 12/16/2007, -2/+1Liberal musings from northern California, based mostly in hopeful fantasy.
- JamesBrown, on 12/16/2007, -8/+7Why would an Obama supporter ever even consider voting for Ron Paul? He stands for everything that Democrats are against.
Immediate pullout from Iraq? Great that's he's against the war, but that's not enough. Furthermore, though I never even for a minute supported the invasion of Iraq and believe the entire operation has been a disaster, I can recognize that an immediate pullout would be a tremendously bad idea.
Privatization of everything?
No government regulation of business?
Overturn Roe vs. Wade decision?
Return to the gold standard?!?! (this is easily the worst idea coming from Paul)
All bad ideas from a Democrat's perspective - amiches, on 12/16/2007, -4/+3Another Paultard shows how clueless he is about politics by suggesting that supporters of one candidate vote for another candidate of a completely different ideology. Put down the bong and that copy of Atlas Shrugged, bro.
- anselm83, on 12/16/2007, -6/+4I listened to what Ron Paul had to say and realized he's a racist lunatic. His stance on the Iraq War and marijuana legalization aren't enough to combat the rest of his pro-corporation & anti-education policies. There's a reason white supremacists like Stormfront love Ron Paul -- discover why and you'll discover all the reasons Ron Paul is a scary ***** candidate.
- txtphile, on 12/16/2007, -7/+5Unless you scare white people you can never be black enough.
/truth
/sarcasm
/truth - amiches, on 12/16/2007, -4/+2A Paul supporter saying that another candidate doesn't stand a chance? A minor miracle happens every day, apparently.
- Genjeta, on 12/16/2007, -4/+2God dammit....stupid comment system, wasn't showing original submission so I resubmitted on accident.
