- siszam, on 10/10/2007, -22/+58Notice the money America spends on propaganda within other countries. Billions if not trillions. They do the same thing in Venezuela. Republicans will fight you tooth and nail if you say America should join all the other civilized countries and provide fully tax funded, universal health care. They don't have a problem with paying for war, murder and propaganda. If you don't believe me you should check out the proof by reading documents obtained by the freedom of information act. The book The Chavez Code really delves into how corrupt, evil and uncaring the U.S. government is.
What kind of government thinks it's a good thing for tax payers to die from lack of care but gives welfare to corporations? What kind of government finances coups against other leaders because they promote health care and literacy? The American government, that's who. And now Bush is going to attack Iran so he can declare martial law and take total power. I doubt Republicans will wake up even then. Watching that party is like looking in on the goings ons of an insane asylum/demonic cult. It gets more and more bizarre. Even if we do get Bush out of office what is the alternative? Clinton and Obama are warmongering, NWO people too. Ron Paul doesn't mind if people die from lack of care either.
America is so truly screwed no matter what happens. We need a Socialist revolution.
/I'm just a bright ray of sunshine :) - CDTyphoonSR, on 10/10/2007, -2/+28Opps, too late!
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -5/+28If you believe it's wrong to attack Iran, what can you do to stop it from happening? What could people do to stop the attack on Iraq? They protested and it didn't matter at all. Is there are problem with the system? Do we have democracy? That's all I want to know...
- terrordome, on 10/10/2007, -1/+18I have loads of experience with socialized healthcare and I can't complain at all. If you have some minor ***** problem and can't wait half an hour for the doctors to treat the more seriously ill people first, you are the crazy one.
- swrostmore, on 10/10/2007, -1/+16right. because they have nukes. just like saddam had wmds.
- torbes, on 10/10/2007, -3/+17There's not really much stopping him from doing it if he wants to - the problem with being a lame duck is that he doesn't have to care what anyone else thinks.
- dftpnkezln, on 10/10/2007, -3/+17I also have plenty of experience with universal health care. I wouldn't trade it for the present American system under any circumstances.
- InetRoadkill, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13Like congress has any balls.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -4/+17Again I say, this info is being purposely leaked, to put pressure on Iran, and gauge reaction.
- swrostmore, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14Wait, so you were claiming Iran would go crazy and send "nuclear capabilities" flying in every direction?
- dftpnkezln, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13A completely different sort of terrorism. Hamas are primarily (in fact, completely) focused on the domestic situation in Israel/Palestine and have absolutely no motivation to provoke a fight with the West. There is a tendency from many to group all 'terrorists' together under one banner, such that the term becomes meaningless/useless in any real sense. Proctor is correct that there could not be any two fiercer foes than al Qaeda and Iran.
- ruthless34, on 10/10/2007, -5/+17Iranian soldiers are not afraid nor hesitant to die defending their country. If the US attacks there will be more casualties on Iranian side but the American forces will find it difficult to advance with the sheer number of forces on Iranian side. Technology alone will not help the US succeed. Expect Iranian soldiers to fight blood and flesh for their country.
Any US attack will be faced with a miserable failure. The Iranians may not all agree with Ahmadinejad but they would prefer him heck of a lot more than they would prefer an American "liberator".
The Iranians will never forget the evil-doing the US government has done to Iran in the past.

To all americans I advice you to educate yourself about the history of Iran-US relations rather than judging by what you see on your biased media. - terrordome, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12How do you think most Socialist revolutions were carried through? Longbows? Fist fighting?
- 10goto10, on 10/10/2007, -5/+15I really hope this is just propaganda, I don't want the USA to be the most hated country in the world.
- DrFrigmundPseud, on 10/10/2007, -3/+13Isn't it about time we started referring to this PNAC inspired madness as 'The War of Terror'?
As far as I can see, it is the USA and it's docile minions creating the most terror in the world.
As a British citizen I'm not afraid of militant Islam, North Korea or Iran; the US government on the other hand scares me senseless by what they are prepared to do in the (doublespeak) name of 'freedom'. - swrostmore, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11i think you meant to say "more ignorant"
- Mejogid, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Propoganda isn't necessarily supression of information (although that can be a part of its more important forms). Good propoganda is subtle enough that it's not immediately noticable and doesn't necessarily conflict with freedom of speech.
- bromac, on 10/16/2007, -3/+12No you wouldn't.
You're not exactly putting an end to THIS ***** are you? You second amendment fanatics are just as ineffective as the rest of your nation right now.
Once you ***** actually put your second amendment where your muzzles are and ***** DO SOMETHING, then I'll buy your macho *****.
Until then you're just as pussified as the rest of America. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8The bit on Israel and an "arms race" is laughable. We've been giving Israel billions of dollars for decades. The new 30 billion over 10 years is right in line with what the US has been giving Israel during those decades.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10Iranians want freedom. They must overthrow the government!
From the same website:
"We do not believe that any military strikes on the nuclear facilities would serve as a trigger for mass uprising as some have argued in Washington. The reasons being that with coercive apparatuses being intact, they have not only the power to crush any uprising, but also the added motivation and anger to do so. Iranians are angry at the coercive apparatuses for having oppressed and repressed them for so long but not at any inanimate nuclear facility.
Another trigger may be UN Security Council economic sanctions, which may lead to runs on the banks, food stores, events that would put the masses in confrontation with the coercive apparatuses. If the coercive apparatuses did not open fire on the masses, then that would encourage more valiant rioting and burning of government autos and buildings cascading out of control. If the coercive apparatuses did open fire on the masses, then that may increase responses by the masses on such a scale that the regime would not be able to control and contain. The UN Security Council international sanctions modeled after those imposed on the Apartheid regime in South Africa and Burmese dictatorship may be the least violent way to replace the ruling fundamentalists with a secular and democratic republic that Iranians so wish.
Iran’s future looks grim in all of these possibilities. Time will tell which one would be the actual history." - rehkcts, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10Enough War Already! We Americans need to make it clear we oppose any actions like this. There's no way this can happen without WW3. We have to find a better way to co-exist in this world. Violence begets violence. It has to stop somewhere.
- hplasm, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Just send you in, Internet Tough Guy. Oh it's past your bedtime. Shame.
- Rahodeb, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Theoretically, congress should be able to stop him.
- SheilaNoya, on 10/10/2007, -4/+12Fox News is constantly talking about why we need to attack Iran. Since they are Bush's mouthpiece and promote the dangerous Neocon's agenda, you can rest assured that Bush & Cheney are planning to do something stupid AGAIN.

- terrordome, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9Please cite your sources for Socialism as an ideology removing guns from the people, also please tell me what other rights Socialism takes away. The only thing Socialism promises to take away from the individual is private ownership and replace it with collective ownership.
- daonlyfreez, on 10/10/2007, -4/+11"Starting another war is the fastest way to lose the '08 election"
Wrong. Starting another war is the easiest way to _avoid_ an election all-together (and if they somehow "have to", they'll rig it, or pass the cookie to Hillary, all players in the same team).
Once men are in power, they'll do anything to stay in power. - satx, on 10/10/2007, -6/+13Billions if not trillions?
I don't disagree with your overall message but relax on the hyperbole, it makes you look ignorant. - Helios187, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8I see a lot of comments on various articles labeling those who oppose the war as "coward, hippie, liberals." But yet I am against the invasion, but i am conservative. On the contrary, i dream about war. War against tyranny. War against slavery. War against serfdom. You're playing right into the hands of the Globalist elites. If everyone were like you, their job would be done. But I will not submit! I wont be slave! My life has value and meaning, and i don't care what some corrupt banker thinks and i don't care how much money he has! Many people are waking up to the harsh realities that the New World Order has in store for us. The revolution has been a battle of information thus far, but i assure you, the elites wont give up on there goals without more people dying. so i prepare myself mentally, for the day when peace fails, and the uprising begins. I will become a monster to defeat a monster. I will throw myself upon them, like a ravenous creature. I will drink their blood and eat their flesh. I will satisfy my anger with their pain. So think about that when call people who see this invasion for what it really is and speak out against it, "Coward Liberals." The truth may surprise you
- bromac, on 10/16/2007, -6/+12Way to prove his point. He wants to help people, you want to shoot him.
***** you. - vault, on 10/10/2007, -3/+9>> Watching that party is like looking in on the goings ons of an insane asylum/demonic cult. It gets more and more bizarre.
I feel the same way about Digg comments. - ruthless34, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Do you have any idea the extend to which the US has tried to affect the Iranian government and tried to overthrow a democraticly elected prime minister. They don't care about what the people think but their own needs. They don't care about democracy but their own interests.
Ever wondered why the Iranian population hates the US government so much? - alex7575, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8If you consider the Iraq war as propaganda, she's right on the spot.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7I'm sorry but that list is pretty weak. Who is this guy anyways? News Analysis, Omid Memarian ,
New America Media, Sep 02, 2007 - Chopper3, on 10/10/2007, -4/+9I just don't see what's wrong with a nation building the ability to protect itself, especially when it's neighbour was so recently invaded by the very same force threatening it today.
- Helios187, on 10/10/2007, -4/+9The reason the logic in the actions of the administration on the issue of Iran seem so fatally flawed is because everyone is still assuming that it is the president and the legislator who are actually implementing and guiding policies of this war. The constitution tells us that our government is made up of three branches who all have various modes and methods of limiting the others power. But in fact there are 5 branches of government: Number 1, the executive; Number 2, the legislative; Number 3, the judicial; NUMBER 4, THE CORPORATION, AND NUMBER 5 THE INTERNATIONAL BANKS. And to these last two, there are no checks or balances. They are free, free to mold the world as they wish. Free to create the most beautiful harmony of peace and freedom, Or free to create hell on earth. And they will inevitably choose the latter of the two, for that is the nature of money. Money is equivalent to power, and power has the rather nasty side effect of corruption. The reason that we are headed into Iran is because it is one of the last places in the world that has managed to escape the strangle hold of the international banks. They seethe and hiss when the think that a country not under the control has managed to become a first world country. Its a piece missing from the collection. There eyes turn wild, and the froth at the mouth as the fervently lust for their prize, their Jewel. We've already overthrown Iran once in 1953 under OPERATION AJAX, which is documented in full on none other than the CIA's own website. Kermit Roosevelt, who was in charge of spearheading the project, also bragged about how patriotic he was for blaming bombings on current leader in 1953, Mohommad Mosaddeq. If you look at Iran today, many of their cities have an uncanny resemblence to other modern cities such as New York or LA. Iraq didnt have weapons of mass destruction, and neither does Iran. The people over there are so confused as to why we want to attack them, but as a mentioned before, the logic is flawed only when assuming that the president and the legislators still make the policy, which history has shown us, that they dont. And then it becomes clear......
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6If the Iranians were to fight the USA in a stand up toe to toe conventional war using their "sheer number of forces on Iranian side" they would be annihilated in days.
The USA is very adept at destroying extremely large numbers of enemy soldiers. From Korea to the planning for a war with the Soviet Union, the USA has always expected to fight a superior numerical force. The best chance the Iranians would have would be to melt their military away into the civilian populace and fight a protracted guerrilla war like what is being done in Iraq. - Theisos, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Not just any "nuclear capabilities". "Nuclear capabilities" of mass destruction.
- warriorscot, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6The fact that you think calling someone a liberal is an insult speaks volumes about you. It also says you don't actually know what a liberal is might want to look that up before you make yourself look more stupid.
And calling someone a coward merely for stating simple facts that two nations are in fact independent and that a Palestinian political group are not in fact a terrorist group in the accepted definition of the term, is just stupid. - MJG2007, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4More like:
1. Invade Iran
2. ????
3. Profit! - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Touche. Believe it or not, I couldn't agree with you more. I am guilty/worthy of your contempt for my inaction. It certainly comes across as macho ***** but that is far from the truth. It's actually a death sentence where I have to resolve to give my life for future generations. That can be a difficult thing to do when you see the complacency and apathy that has overtaken the US.
Don't count us out yet. We may not be getting things done as quickly as you or we would like....but they are getting done. - Dewhead, on 10/16/2007, -0/+4Wait a minute. I thought Americans were warmongers? Now we are pussies?
- tehpwnrate, on 10/16/2007, -0/+4It always frightens me when I see people like siszam. They start off with statements based on fact, and then they just go ***** insane. Obama an NWO war-monger? Bush declaring martial law? WTF is wrong with you?
- terrordome, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6You mean something along the lines of; "I don't want the US to lose the very tiny amount of support they have left in the entire universe".
- gathly, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4This isn't 1930. What's a gun going to do against attack helicopters and tactical low-yield nuclear weapons?? The next revolution has to be covert, clever and on the sly. It won't be guns against guns.
- dftpnkezln, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6That was 30 years ago champ. Let it go.
- ABEND954, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Well duh... they hate us for our freedoms. Just ask Dubya, he'll tell ya.
- bromac, on 10/16/2007, -4/+8He does? I didn't see that in his post.
Way to straw man. By the way, Cuba and Venezula aren't exactly socialist democracies which is what he is suggesting. Try Canada, Sweden, the Netherlands, etc....for a better comparison.
So, excuse me, ***** You for allowing yourself to be SCARED of helping other people. Pussy. -
