- mattyice11, on 10/10/2007, -5/+14When you factor in the number of PSN purchases that's a nice number.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8I dont care ratings or reviews as long as im enjoying this games.
- UnknownElementX, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8Also as a quick fact, the reason for the small file size is due to its compression. The Warhawk data is highly compressed and the ps3 streams data off of the hard drive while you play. (this was mentioned in a podcast interview)
and Sega..I'd recommend you play it. it is quite fun and engaging. excellent controls and game play. definitely not "half made" - alx242, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Hello dear PC-gamer.
It is ***** fantastic...! - Eshestun, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5My roommate got the game, and I think it's great.
Vehicles have a great feel and aren't particularly overpowered.
The great thing about it is that someone on foot could be laying just as much waste as someone in the air. - wedges, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3i spent $70 on HL2 silver, and I really got my moneys worth playing CS:S, not the HL2 campaign, which was way too short.
- Spankov, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Dear Ghoztt,
You are an idiot.
Sincerely, the entire world. - AwRy108, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5Does this even include the PSN version? The article would be a lot more meaningful when we know the ENTIRE number of people that purchased the game.
- dutchb0y, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Yep, such a dearth of games for the PS3 worth buying, it's no surprise it's moving well enough... hyped game that seems to live up to the expectations... PS3 needs that.
- wedges, on 10/10/2007, -3/+4PS3 has a much smaller installed base than either of those, and 360 has been out a full year longer. and we still don't know if this is retail or retail + PSN
- Dracusis, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Warhawk is a lot different from the battlefield series. I own all three systems and I've played them all, Warhawk definatly has something going for it. Personally, I'm not a fan, it's a little too arcadey for my tastes (I like My FPS games with a mouse and keyboard and extremely unforgiving), but I can definatly see why is has such a widespread appeal. It's a fimilar format with a very refreshing pacing and flow. For a console, it's a prefect fit. It would be a massive hit on the XBOX and probably would have sold closer to 400k units in it's first week, but we all know that'll never happen.
- wedges, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2you also have to consider the fact that this game offers no single player campaign whatsoever, and is really only useful to people with a broadband connection, which, whether digg users can fathom or not, is a smaller number than you'd think.
- dew87, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Warhawk is an excellent game. It's literally one of the most fun and addicting multiplayer games played ever. I'm assuming these sales figure is only for the blu-ray copies sold in the US alone, as I've seen no info released about sales elsewhere, or regarding PSN downloads, and the game isn't even out yet on blu-ray in the UK. Either way, this is could be the fastest selling game to hit the million mark on the PS3. It deserves to.
- imcwilli, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Yup there is a virus, I gotta stop going to this website. 2nd time this happened, thank goodness for AV checkers that work.
- Dewy2500, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1The ratings/reviews have been pretty good at a lot of places: http://www.gamingtarget.com/article.php?artid=7471
9.2 ain't too shabby. - mattsells2, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0The best exclusive game yet.
- xelloss, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1No NOD32 antivirus poped up something to for me. But what ever at least I know my antivirus is working lol
- NightVortez, on 10/10/2007, -4/+3I'm guessing this does not factor in the PSN purchases because of the way they calculate the number sold (front page), no one knows the actual PSN number but Sony and they haven't released anything more then information that it's the most downloaded title on the Network.
I'm guessing together it made a nice 180k. - vosik, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2is it only my antivirus which says that the website and the link are infected with HTML/Infected.WebPage.Gen virus?
- coheedcollapse, on 10/10/2007, -7/+5Metroid could have been ***** served on a plate and it still would have sold well. It was also the first very well rated non-minigame game exclusively for the Wii (the non exclusives I speak of are Restident Evil 4 and Zelda TP.)
Warhawk was (mostly) unheard of and had very little hype before release. - afaik, on 10/10/2007, -2/+0i get that too
- DukeMojo, on 10/10/2007, -5/+2I don't see why number sales are news. Or even interesting for that matter. Is it some sort of reassurance for the Sheeple?
"Warhawk's success marks the beginning of a steady stream of quality AAA titles for PS3 this fall." And let's wait for the games to come out before judging their quality. Didn't we learn this lesson with LAIR? - HappyScrappy, on 10/10/2007, -5/+2That last sentence is pretty damn optimistic. Especially with how Lair turned out.
Best the PS3 learn to walk before it runs. - felman87, on 10/10/2007, -5/+2According to this very site, metroid only sold 314,000 units. Something's not right with these numbers
- ImADharmaBum, on 10/10/2007, -3/+0100,000 units at sixty dollars a pop is a pretty solid success, and congratulations to the developers for making a great game. Here's hoping they can make back their development costs considering all the hiccups in the process. I played the game and it's a lot of fun, but I don't think I can justify the $60 purchase without a single player campaign, headset or no. Maybe sales will pick up once the price starts to drop - I know I'd fish it out of the bargain bin in a heartbeat.
- etgoboom, on 10/10/2007, -4/+1does this include downloads, or is this just for the in-store bundle?
- felman87, on 10/10/2007, -6/+2It deserves more. The game is great. I mean Lair got 92,000.
- WhereAmI, on 10/10/2007, -10/+5Haha, if this hits the front page that ratings going to be like 3...
- Ghoztt, on 10/10/2007, -6/+1Dear PS3 Warhawk owners, How's it been going, friends? Has it been fun romping around in this "revolutionary" new multiplayer FPS and vehicle gameplay? I am just writing this letter to welcome you to 5 years ago. When us PC owners got Battlefield1942. Welcome to the past! Home you enjoy it! - Sincerely, Ghozt
- SEGA4life, on 10/10/2007, -16/+10It's not a big number people, I mean Metroid sold 400,000 in it's first week along side Bioshock.
I don't seem to understand why people get so amazed over small numbers, or with even a hic-up of numbers, people who own a PS3 are dying for new games and will buy Anything, including a half made under a gig online only game.
Sorry but it's the truth. - Diggtatorship, on 10/10/2007, -12/+5You nailed it right on the head.
"100,000 Units!! One of the fastest selling PS3 titles yet!" That's not something you really ought to be celebrating.
