- StarExtreme, on 01/04/2008, -4/+35Uncharted: Drake's Fortune was such an amazing game. It combines 3D platforming (such as Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time or Tomb Raider: Legend) and a third-person shooter (such as kill.switch and Gears of War). You can jump, swim, grab and move along ledges, climb and swing from ropes, take cover behind walls, and use either blind-fire or covered fire to take out foes.
The game play is pure awesomeness. - foxter, on 01/04/2008, -2/+30Great game! I think both I and Jeff Cannata (from TRS) will be very happy to play a sequel of this game.
- charlescheese, on 01/04/2008, -1/+26No, please spend all of your time and resources on making a better, longer game. Why waste time implementing a MP system into a game that doesn't need it?
- charlescheese, on 01/04/2008, -4/+27This news brings tears of joy to my eyes. Uncharted is the best game I've played in years, it would have been a real shame to not get a sequel.
- Cyrus001, on 01/04/2008, -2/+23They're not called Naughty Dog for nothing.
- castags, on 01/04/2008, -9/+30Drake bent lara over and gave her what she had cumming.
- LuCiFer6, on 01/04/2008, -1/+22I'm sorry to tell you this but ND who developed Uncharted... (Naughty Dog) is owned by Sony. So I think you'll have a better chance of seeing the 2nd coming of Christ before that game released on the 360.
- charlescheese, on 01/04/2008, -1/+20It's sold 720,000 so far world wide in a month and a week. It will easily hit 2 million by next Christmas, and a lot more than that when it becomes a greatest hits title. Everyone said Resistance sold poorly at first, and it's sitting at 2.2 million sold right now and it hasn't even gotten a price drop yet! That's a lot of cash, and Uncharted will make a nice chunk of change when it's all said and done. Plus Sony can franchise this game and make lots more down the road. Because the game is loved, even more than Resistance was, I think it will have legs for a long time. I think nearly all new PS3 owners over the course of the next year will pick the title up when they buy PS3's. They wouldn't be announcing a sequel right now if they weren't confident in the sales they've had and will have.
- ndiderrich, on 01/04/2008, -1/+20Every single Naughty Dog game was good.
- TheXeno, on 01/04/2008, -1/+19Uncharted was the best (unsung) game of 2007.
- LuCiFer6, on 01/04/2008, -1/+19It's been a long time since I played a game that just pure fun like Uncharted. It's by far one of the most underrated games of 2007 and it's one the best games on the PS3.
- cyrix, on 01/04/2008, -1/+18ND is owned by Sony. You might as well suggest Halo coming to the PS3.
- bigbadgoat, on 01/04/2008, -1/+18PS3 catching on fire?
it has no widespread or significant reliability issues and has a failure rate of less than 1%, over 30 times smaller than your RROD60. - Synthesize, on 01/04/2008, -0/+15Currently one of the best games for the PS3.
- MattnJax, on 01/04/2008, -2/+17Dude, ***** MS, buy a PS3, you won't regret it. 2008 and beyond is Sony's.
- MattnJax, on 01/04/2008, -1/+15Half a million in sales worldwide equals 1 out of every 16 PS3 (considering there's 8 million sold right now) that's not too bad when considering this isn't a game for everyone, by the time Uncharted 2 comes out there will probably be 20 million PS3 sold = PROFITS to naughty dog
- inactive, on 01/04/2008, -1/+15Are you saying not to compare this to gears, because it blows gears out of the water and its so much better than gears that its an insult to uncharted? Cause otherwise, WE can all tell you haven't played the game....
- mdavis, on 01/04/2008, -2/+15Hell ***** yeah!!! This game kicked all sorts of ass! It may not have been the BEST game of 2007-but it was definetely the one I had the most fun with.
- felman87, on 01/04/2008, -1/+14I could just as easily say that MS is forcing me to pay in order to play online multiplayer, something that had been free years prior on PCs
- z3021017, on 01/04/2008, -1/+14Awesome (though not unexpected) news.
Uncharted laid the foundation of a loyal fanbase, and I hope the sequel will build on that fanbase, attracting more fans and become a AAA series. - Zamfir, on 01/04/2008, -4/+16Great news! Can't wait... though I'm still well involved with the Drake's Fortune and probably will be for some time yet...
- charlescheese, on 01/04/2008, -0/+12It was my favorite game of 2007 as well. I think a good majority of PS3 owners feel that way.
- Travis182, on 01/04/2008, -1/+13Was there ever any doubt about a sequel. Naughty Dog is a sequel happy, hit producer. This series is yet another hit and I can't wait to see more.
- Phil1ip123, on 01/04/2008, -2/+13Having played both I will admit it's way better than Gears.
- volacide, on 01/04/2008, -1/+12Hell yeah dude. I beat the game but I'm definitely coming back for more. Mostly because of the really inventive unlockables. The numerous bonus "cheats" and things you can get for the game completely change the look and feel in some cases. The mirror world is an especially interesting one.
To me the unlockables in Uncharted are ten times more satisfying to achieve than just getting points added to a gamer score, I wish more games took this approach, including 360 games. I mean they actually unlock and add more things to the game itself. Freaking sweet. - charlescheese, on 01/04/2008, -1/+12It's a mix of Gears of War style third person shooting with a robust cover system, and platforming/puzzle solving. It's more Gears than Tomb Raider in my opinion.
- inactive, on 01/04/2008, -0/+11"No concept of a single gamertag"
PSN has that.
"no concept of acheivments"
It's called the trophy system on PSN. The first uncharted is getting it so the second one will as well. - neocr0n, on 01/04/2008, -1/+12Expected, they mentioned it being franchise in quite a few of the developer interviews. If they can build and improve on the first the second game should really be something special.
- Mtown, on 01/04/2008, -2/+13Well for one the 360 might not even have enough power to run it. Screenshots and downloaded movie clips of it do not even close to what it looks like in HD. If you see a screenshot online and think, "hmmm those graphics look good!" you have NO idea.
If you manage to jam the camera up against something and can get a close up on Drake's face, you can see individual pores on his skin, and facial hair coming out of them.
It has more detailed textures than Crysis and the best lighting/shadow effects that I've ever seen in a game.
The 360 almost surely wouldn't be able to handle it. I mean you need a $5,000 PC just to make Crysis look as good (while playing smoothly) as Uncharted. The 360 wouldn't even come close. - nymphetamine, on 01/04/2008, -2/+13Oh yea? Well, I ***** Judge Judy.
- CReyes4182, on 01/04/2008, -0/+10You do know that microsoft doesn't really want hard disc media. They only reason they went with HD-DVD was so blu-ray wouldn't take off. MS is more about video downloads. Thats why you will never see an HD-DVD drive built into the 360. Plus I have never seen any stories on the ps3 catching on fire. I have seen dozens of melted 360s and heard of hundreds getting RROD.
- CReyes4182, on 01/04/2008, -0/+9Aren't achievement points just a way of getting people to buy more games? They don't really get you anything :/
- Phil1ip123, on 01/04/2008, -1/+10This game is by far one of the best games I've ever played, and it has a certain cinematic quality that far surpasses anything on film.
I can hardly wait for the sequel. - InfinitySnatch, on 01/04/2008, -1/+10Uncharted was the second game I've bought since I got my PS3 over a year ago. I'm not knocking the PS3 so much as saying that Uncharted is an incredibly awesome and probably under-appreciated game.
- Puppetfunk, on 01/04/2008, -6/+14Why did part of that read like it was copied off the back of the box?
- jgtg32a, on 01/04/2008, -2/+9There really aren't that many games that are harder than Ninja Gaiden
- mrfreeziexp, on 01/04/2008, -2/+9Well, that's not rocket science... Successful, critically acclaimed first game = sequel.
- InfinitySnatch, on 01/04/2008, -2/+8I like how turned into Resident Evil at the end.
- staticneuron, on 01/04/2008, -0/+6I own all the systems and when I see all the top tens I am just curious if any of these people played uncharted. From beginning to the end this game was fast paced and fun. I honestly cannot say that about most games on the market. I even consider Uncharted to be better than Bioshock but that is just me.
- HappyScrappy, on 01/04/2008, -1/+7Great game. Top ten of the year in my book. Sad no one is really buying it. Just finished it on normal and are beginning it on a harder level. Not sure if I'll see it through a 2nd time, but that's not really a huge condemnation of the game.
- staticneuron, on 01/04/2008, -0/+5Crysis may be technically better but boy does uncharted look better. I swear in crysis the detail hit me over the head like a sledgehammer. I though it was awesome. In uncharted though, the detail in that game.......... is moving. I swear the world feels more alive and vibrant in Uncharted. I am sure that was purely based on artistic decisions but even as such it woul give the impression to alot of people that uncharted is better.
- Hobbes24, on 01/04/2008, -1/+6I'm happy mostly because this is one of the few games where the main character and I have the same name.
- andrew24601, on 01/04/2008, -0/+5Perhaps it's the all-caps that's getting you dug down, but Keef the Thief was certainly where I first became a Naughty Dog fan.
- xjeffx, on 01/04/2008, -4/+8Hey, they should make Halo for the PS3.
- DarkShroud, on 01/04/2008, -0/+4MS said Halo3 would be in HD and it wasn't. They also said that PGR4 would have night and day tracks and they didn't. All of these problems would have been solved with blu-ray. Uncharted has no load times between the power of blu-ray and having a hard drive in every system.
- Ndiggnation, on 01/04/2008, -0/+4While I agree with it being one of the best, if not best game of 07, with all the Net buzz, commercials, glowing reviews and good sales, I think it's been pretty well sung. :)
- zosia123, on 01/04/2008, -0/+4Part that stands out the most: up the rapids on the jet-ski. Awesome game!
Wishing for co-op mode on-line on the next one. - staticneuron, on 01/04/2008, -0/+4So I piece of text that you can display to others is obviously worth the money huh? That same score that would be tallied even if you were an unpaying silver member?
- triplehelix, on 01/06/2008, -0/+3they aren't up to 12 million yet. just about 9 million though.
- felman87, on 01/04/2008, -3/+6Made by ND, owned by Sony. Might as well ask Sony and MS to team up. (That might work. Let MS design the specs, Live could be free and let Sony manufacture and contribute its 1st party devs)
