This will be the first mod I put on my PS3 for UT3 as it just looks too entertaining.- theaceoffire, on 02/23/2008, -2/+20I know! This is quite the talented moder. This is also why I LOVE mods.
O.O wonder if someone can make a Rapture or Aperture Science Labs levels... Instant fame.- DarQraven, on 02/23/2008, -1/+0They could, but most likely they'd have their arse sued off by valve or irrational games. Maps inspired by rapture or ASL are entirely possible though. Hell, a talented enough modder could even mod a portal-gun-like weapon into UT3. The potential is endless.
- Lunarbunny, on 02/23/2008, -3/+7COMMENT ABUSE - he's a regular at a forum I frequent, here's the thread for that map:
http://www.unrealplayground.com/forums/showthread. ...- iRoy, on 02/23/2008, -1/+2Thanks, your link actually worked.
Can't wait to try this out, I was playing UTIII today and I was going to play COD4 for the rest of the night but now I think I might have some fun in Lego land.
- iRoy, on 02/23/2008, -1/+2Thanks, your link actually worked.

- compilejunkie, on 02/23/2008, -1/+24thx for digging the story. the dl link was on the story at psnathome but doesn't matter. as long as people download the mod =D
- mywhitenoise, on 02/23/2008, -3/+24I hardly play UT3, maybe I should get back on it.
- charlescheese, on 02/23/2008, -2/+7Same here, I've been too busy with the Orange Box, Assassin's Creed, and Burnout Paradise to get into it. I just suck at it so bad that it's hard to get me going on it. I plan to download lots of mods though, that should keep it interesting.
- sl123000, on 02/23/2008, -0/+2That's Kinda the point...
- atbrask, on 02/23/2008, -0/+5You should.. What the game lacks in the story department it surely makes up for in the explosions-and-pure-fun department..
- Culyt, on 02/23/2008, -1/+4I haven't started playing UT3 yet. I'm still waiting for the damned vaporware Linux client, the one that was supposed to be included on the disc at release.
/me goes back to ETQW- mooninite, on 02/23/2008, -1/+4Same here. Still waiting on the Linux client. UGH!
- Varz, on 02/23/2008, -7/+2ETQW is better anyway UT3 is pretty much UT2K4 with better graphics.
- Shaflugi, on 02/23/2008, -5/+2worse graphics*
- jp12380, on 02/23/2008, -1/+3Not worse graphics, unless you have an outdated computer. Sorry about the linux client though, they have have kind of gone back on that, last I heard they are now calling it a pet project that may or may not happen. :(

- jacksons98, on 02/23/2008, -0/+12COD4 needs a break anyway, I know what I'm playing this weekend!
Thanks charlescheese for the link as well.- masterm1nd, on 02/23/2008, -0/+6You'll be back. Me, I'll be playing the map shipment in unreal. http://www.ut3mod.com/2008/02/deathmatch-map-shipm ... .
- Picaroon, on 02/23/2008, -2/+84Even though I'm an Xbox 360 fanboy, I sure as hell admire that Sony allows you to do stuff like put mods on your PS3. Come on MS, wtf?
That is badass.- Aadain, on 02/23/2008, -29/+7MS doesn't let you use mods because they think you are a retarded chimp that will only break your Xbox360 and demand a replacement under warranty until you get your way. And based on the Xbox360 owners I've met and read about online, I think that was a good decision on Microsoft's part :)
- ethon, on 02/23/2008, -11/+1LOL :) OMG SO FUNNY

- ethon, on 02/23/2008, -11/+1LOL :) OMG SO FUNNY
- hassanchop13, on 02/23/2008, -1/+56more likely, MS doesnt let you use mods because then they can sell you the mods (or something similar) later, and then use security as the excuse.
- therightclique, on 02/23/2008, -5/+3that's not really the reason at all. nice try.
- Acqua206, on 02/23/2008, -1/+5Enlighten me then please.
- ausfahrt, on 02/24/2008, -0/+2Your kidding or u cant see the nose on the front of your face either.
- therightclique, on 02/23/2008, -5/+3that's not really the reason at all. nice try.
- dsmx, on 02/23/2008, -0/+24Mods on xbox live would go against microsoft charging you for everything, why let people have something for free when there's plenty of suckers out there who will pay for it.
- Chinnydaisy, on 02/23/2008, -0/+3I absolutely agree, I used to only play games like this on the PC just because it was so much better and made a game last for many years if you could download mods for it. Now that I have a 360 and my computer is old and *****, I am seriously thinking of getting a PS3 instead of getting a new pooter.
- Dipsett, on 02/23/2008, -1/+2Sir, you're not an fanboy. A xbox 360 fanboy would never admit sony did something right.

- grat2001, on 02/23/2008, -11/+4It looks like a Lego version of Crysis, just not as pretty when seen on youtube.
- NGliam, on 02/23/2008, -3/+16HOLY CRAP! Thats such a brilliant mod! Ok, this is actually making me want to buy UT3 (it only just came out today here in the UK). Very impressive.
- Mikhail101, on 02/23/2008, -5/+11you only want to buy it just for that?
- TokenBlack, on 02/23/2008, -0/+17Yes I think that's what he said
- NGliam, on 02/23/2008, -1/+1Well, this shows how good the mods can get.. I wasn't gonna get UT3 cos the gameplay is a bit.. shall I say random :P but we'll see. Dum dum dum.
- Mikhail101, on 02/23/2008, -5/+11you only want to buy it just for that?
- Hipple, on 02/23/2008, -7/+7The video was cool enough that I watched the whole thing even with that god-awful music. Do want.
- Recuso, on 02/23/2008, -4/+1How dare you insult Emerson, Lake & Palmer (ELP).
- Abomonog, on 02/23/2008, -3/+1Insult the band who invented Goth some 30 years before Manson and Korn? The band that invented the electronic drumset? The band that first introduced the world to the artistry of H.R.Geiger? The only band ever to get away with an album name that literally means blowjob (Brain Salad Surgery)?
You should be careful who you insult, boy. :) - Philbert, on 02/24/2008, -0/+1Actually the music in the first vid reminded me of the theme to Giant Fighters by Sound-O-Rama

- ieataquacrayons, on 02/23/2008, -2/+9Clearly dugg for LEGO.
- SilverBack101, on 02/23/2008, -4/+113What the ***** is with that music?!
- decker12, on 02/23/2008, -4/+51Christ those videos have horrible music. Next time I'll just take the in-game audio, ok?
- Mikhail101, on 02/23/2008, -0/+7Headblock!!!
- Zanarkand, on 02/23/2008, -0/+13Nice to see the console mod community starting up....more games should have mods available in the future, but I guess developers wouldn't wanna be showned up by little Timmy out in Iowa making an awesome level in his spare time while developers want to charge for map packs....
- Retnuh730, on 02/23/2008, -0/+5Anyone know if the lego blocks can hurt you if they fall?
- dansmeek, on 02/23/2008, -0/+3no they can't. they just push you out of the way
- patthew, on 02/23/2008, -6/+5Dugg for use of music by Emerson Lake and Palmer.
- Mikhail101, on 02/23/2008, -1/+2that wasnt ELP was it? Greg Lake was better in Krims imho
- Recuso, on 02/23/2008, -0/+2Yes it was ELP's "Benny the Bouncer" off their album 'Brain Salad Surgery.'
- Mikhail101, on 02/23/2008, -1/+2that wasnt ELP was it? Greg Lake was better in Krims imho

- Flashtone, on 02/23/2008, -1/+16Redeemer + legos = art
- Brackhar, on 02/23/2008, -3/+32Is this even a mod? It just looks like a custom map with its own texture and model files...
- dansmeek, on 02/23/2008, -2/+5yeah... the submitter should have said "Created MAP" -- but, MOD is such a buzzword these days....
however... it did have some good physics in it. i wasn't even sure if there was much physics support in the PS3 version of unreal. i know that on the PC version, you need a special physFX card just to play the high-level physic maps.- DarQraven, on 02/23/2008, -0/+0Not true. There's 2 techdemo maps in which Ageia (the company that makes the physX cards) shows off some of the effects that are possible at higher framerates when you're using one of their products. However, anyone can play those maps, they're just not stock UT3 maps.
Any and every UT3 map in existence can be played with a 'normal' system.
Also, when you have a fast dual core or quad core, physics cards become obsolete.
- DarQraven, on 02/23/2008, -0/+0Not true. - triplehelix, on 02/23/2008, -2/+7serious question, whats a mod then?
- Satertek, on 02/23/2008, -0/+13A mod is when you change core gameplay mechanics such as adding new weapons or game types.
This is just a custom map.- arcticblue, on 02/23/2008, -10/+2So, new weapon = mod, but new map != mod. I'm confused.
- therightclique, on 02/23/2008, -2/+9that's because you're a tard and obviously new to gaming and mods. a map is NOT a mod. ever.
- BenKenobi88, on 02/23/2008, -0/+8MODDING the game is changing an existing aspect of the game. Creating a new map is just an addition...it's not CHANGING anything. Duh.
- arcticblue, on 02/23/2008, -8/+4Oh, I'm obviously new, huh? I wasn't aware of your psychic abilities. I've been in to modding for quite a while. I first started playing with the WADs in Hexen, then the Doom Trilogy, then played with Quake and so on. How is adding a map any different than adding a weapon? They are both just additions and yes, new maps can add new aspects to gameplay.
- arcticblue, on 02/23/2008, -10/+2So, new weapon = mod, but new map != mod. I'm confused.

- frygar, on 02/23/2008, -1/+2WOW - I'm extremely impressed.
- docbaily, on 02/23/2008, -0/+4"This definitely wasn't done on UT years ago."
-No one ever - krytz86, on 02/23/2008, -1/+3This is ***** awesome!
- stanleyford, on 02/23/2008, -3/+23What is it about YouTube that compels normal people to give their videos terrible, completely inappropriate music?
- mCanada, on 02/23/2008, -5/+5I believe an artist by the name of Rick Astley who sings "Never gonna give you up" started the craze. Here's a link for further reference http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBGIQ7ZuuiU
- therightclique, on 02/23/2008, -3/+1shut up. neither accurate nor funny.
- mCanada, on 02/23/2008, -0/+4first rick roll?
- therightclique, on 02/23/2008, -3/+1shut up. neither accurate nor funny.
- bekeleven, on 02/23/2008, -0/+5"normal"... "youtube"
- JudgeMonkey, on 02/23/2008, -2/+4What is it about people that compels them to complain about music in videos when they could just use the mute button?
The normal audio could be boring. They want to spice it up. It' hit and miss. Even if you do hit at all, you'll still miss with a lot of others. - Abomonog, on 02/23/2008, -0/+1Actually, the music is appropriate. Listen to the words. The story is about an axe murder that happens in a bar.

- tavisjohn, on 02/23/2008, -2/+6I want this mod for PC! :)

http://utforums.epicgames.com/showthread.php?s=662 ... - tidu, on 02/23/2008, -1/+6Yeah if a map on PS3 it's more than likely it's already for PC... an extra step is needed for PS3, I believe
- Dooplicity, on 02/23/2008, -0/+10here:
- Me0wmix, on 02/23/2008, -15/+3UT3 is coming for 360 on May 1st 2008. Hopefully some cool mods are created.
- AzureRise, on 02/23/2008, -1/+20I don't think the 360 version will play mods.
- aBeSan, on 02/23/2008, -0/+8I checked around. I'm sure it doesn't have a release date.
- iRoy, on 02/23/2008, -5/+7More like April 1st, 2008.
- betajippity, on 02/23/2008, -0/+5Legos? Dugg.
- PhantomParadox, on 02/23/2008, -15/+2Buried for crashing my PS3.
- widgetmaker, on 02/23/2008, -2/+8Buried for browsing on a ps3
- Varz, on 02/23/2008, -1/+7Best user created mod? I hope you meant for UT3 only.
The map looks good with the custom textures and models, just wondering if this is even a mod, nothing else looks really different.
Those buildings look destructable because they're made from models instead of brushes.- Abomonog, on 02/23/2008, -0/+3It's a map. No mod. You hit it right in the head.
- hadak, on 02/23/2008, -0/+3Forgive my newbieness... how do you install this in the PC version? :-
- faizal5k, on 02/23/2008, -0/+9link to download the mod for PS3:
http://fizzel89.com/DM-LEGO.zip- callampa, on 02/23/2008, -4/+1thx bro
- BIGJHUB, on 02/23/2008, -0/+9so..if this guy can do it..why arent destructible maps a standard?
- dansmeek, on 02/23/2008, -1/+4good question
- JudgeMonkey, on 02/23/2008, -0/+4They are just bricks with cylinders on top, not very complicated. I don't know how detailed areas are in UT3, but probably a good deal more than that.
- Sawta, on 02/23/2008, -0/+2Well, I wouldn't be surprised if other developers could easily do this. The only real difference is that, since this was done for a lego's theme, it doesn't have to look believable. If you were to use this same technique and use it one a game someone just paid 60$ for, there would be hell to pay (again, unless you had a cartoon or toyish theme to the game).
- Philbert, on 02/24/2008, -0/+1yes these are essentially just cubes and cylinders (IE primitive objects). it would be harder when you have broken pieces of buildings that are all different shapes and sizes. Granted Unreal Ed can wrap a basic collision object around your "chunk o' wall, it would not be as realistic as you'd like."
- schavira, on 02/23/2008, -10/+2I hate FPSs, but this was just awesome.
- obxjdt, on 02/23/2008, -1/+5Gave it a digg, but "Lego" maps aren't new to UT.
http://download.beyondunreal.com/search.php (type "Lego" in the search box without quotes).- tearsinraine, on 02/23/2008, -0/+5True. Lego "maps" aren't new. Counter-Strike 1.6 and Source also has Lego maps.. as well as other games I'm sure... but if you watch the vid, the destructible environment breaks down into their respective smaller Lego pieces, which is at least a step beyond most static Lego-"looking" mod maps. Pretty neat.
- Abomonog, on 02/23/2008, -0/+1Lego maps aren't even new to FPS. They've been around since Quake3. The first one that I've seen was a recreation of the "Dark One's" Lego castle from "Time Bandits". Being able to blow apart the Lego's is new but I bet online lag on that map would be terrible.
- CoolSilver, on 02/23/2008, -0/+8Why won't the Link Gun melt the bricks!!!!
- phizz, on 02/23/2008, -9/+0Worse than a RickRoll
- roamzero, on 02/23/2008, -0/+5Someone needs to due a full fledged mod of this, with a built in lego-based level and vehicle editor.
- Aikidi, on 02/23/2008, -10/+0someone did this ***** way back in Counterstrike 1.6.....if you were trying to impress me you have failed.
- JudgeMonkey, on 02/23/2008, -0/+7Everyone, stop commenting, stop digging. Just shut down the whole site while you're at it. We failed. We completely failed to impress Aikidi.

- trinest, on 02/23/2008, -4/+7Whos idea was the ***** retared music.
- jordanlgta, on 02/23/2008, -12/+1People play Unreal Tournament still?
- jp12380, on 02/23/2008, -0/+9Yes they do, it's a fun game.
- PATSCRU, on 02/23/2008, -0/+9For us non-noobs....it's the quintessential online shooter.
- Abomonog, on 02/23/2008, -0/+2Actually, no it isn't. Q3 still holds the top spot with Halflife (1) and Tribes following closely. UT apparently ranks 4th.
But this is all probably because of the fact that UT is the only game left out of the big 4 that hasn't released a source code for the game engine yet. Because of game engine modding Q3 actually gets more play than many brand new releases.
But this is no slam on UT. It's a great game and any serious FPS player should spend time on it. It's just not quintessential. None of them are.
- backfire103, on 02/23/2008, -0/+2Another awesome Lego mod that has seemed to have been in the works for years now is brick field based off of battlefield 2.
http://www.moddb.com/mods/6368/brickfield - bekeleven, on 02/23/2008, -1/+1This is a lot like "breakfloor" for CS, or the hundreds of Glass Maps built for CounterStrike:Source. I will freely admit that texturing it like legos is quite excellent however.
- DarkTrancer, on 02/23/2008, -2/+2In reply to the Link gun melting ,the map isn't fully destructible. It is house objects made of Lego bricks.
Same way could be used in regular games too, face_classic bases made of tiny brick objects for eg - callampa, on 02/23/2008, -1/+0gg
- Yage2006, on 02/23/2008, -3/+2Kewl mod but that music ? WTF is that ? Terrible awful noise, I had to stop it 10 seconds in .
- Abomonog, on 02/23/2008, -0/+1You should look into your music history. Were it not for the band who wrote that, chances are the music you listen to would not exist today.
- onionoino, on 02/23/2008, -0/+7my lego buildings were always strong enough to withstand flak cannon fire
- CptCheerios, on 02/23/2008, -2/+1Well ive been fooling with U3 you could do that with U3 as it is, using kismet. you just make all the objects interpobjects and setup the collision detection through the actor properties windows. Whats impressive is that it works. Epic sucks at programming really they do. A simple action called Abort move. What is it supposed to do. ITs supposed to abort the move to actor action, well its supposed to. This function works like 3 out of 600 tries, i still havent figured out why it does work nor why it doesn't. This engine sucks.
- unitedstatians, on 02/23/2008, -0/+1Serious question, in your opinion, is U3 running to be the successor to the band U2 or the ultimate FPS UT2k4?
- dacapoalfine, on 02/23/2008, -2/+2is it possible to digg things twice?
- The0, on 02/23/2008, -1/+3This singlehandedly made me want a PS3.
Such an unnatural feeling...- DarQraven, on 02/23/2008, -0/+1OR the PC version gets it's deserved share and also gets mentioned every once in a while....Since the mapper that made this, and pretty much all mappers/modders out there are from the PC community...
- Trat, on 02/24/2008, -1/+0***** PCs man, crap with drivers and virusses. Plus the Ut3 community is like 10 times the pc community, noone plays this game online on PC. PS3 for gaming, Mac for work internet. Period, forever, basta.
- DarQraven, on 02/23/2008, -0/+1OR the PC version gets it's deserved share and also gets mentioned every once in a while....Since the mapper that made this, and pretty much all mappers/modders out there are from the PC community...
- concretewave, on 02/23/2008, -2/+0I don't see why Sony keeps re-hasing the Killzone 2 hype.
It's clear that this is their best exclusive.
And I think this finally justifies the argument that adding Lego to something can never be a bad idea. -
