I bought the PS3 over the 360 assuming (based on history) that it would be the console that catered to the RPG crowd and there is nothing coming out this year in that category. I'm starting to think I would have been better off with the 360...
- aladrin, on 05/08/2008, -1/+18The JRPG companies are still producing PS2 titles because they don't -need- the extra hardware power to make a good game. Mana Khemia 2 looks interesting and is coming out in Japan soon. Persona 4 is also going to be PS2 still. I don't know what else is on the horizon, but you can be it'll be on PS2 still.

I'll see you pick up a copy of iron man and I will tell you you are better off buying Marvel Ultimate alliance if you want to play as iron man. I think I'm providing a public service, preventing a repeat of the video game crash of the 80's one misguided consumer at a time.

Please don't think this is a fanboy post - the hardware under the PS3's hood makes me salivate - I'm just having a hard time trying to justify the $400-$500 plunge. To be fair, I can't imagine too many PS3 owners are able to rationalize a 360 purchase at this point in time either.

And just because it is a sequel does not mean its bad Halo 3? GTA4? Super Mario Galaxy?. 360 has less exclusive IPs then PS3, Wii has none, I agree there should be more original IPs, but its not fair to pick out the PS3 your statement should be more directed toward the gaming industry and not the PS3 especially since out of all the consoles it brings out the most original IPs.

Some years it's subtle changes in the game, or additional features, other years it is a complete physic and graphic engine overhauls. One could make the argument that GTA Liberty City Stories is the same as GTA IV based off being the same city and game type, but you would call that person an idiot as they have never actually picked up the game.

4. The "Plug-n-Recharge" kit that you had to pay extra for, right?
5. You can do both on the PS3. 360 you must pay extra (once again) for a wifi adapter.
6. Umm, the PS3 power supply is internal. No extra shelf space required.

Nintendo's big Sales giants are all sequels except Wii Fit/Wii Sports. the 360 has few as well (considering most get PC ports eventually it's got nearly none). The PSP and DS is the place for NEW EXCLUSIVE IP. Like the world ends with you or patapon.
