- Atomic05, on 08/14/2008, -0/+9Meh, the cutscenes weren't that long and I thought they were extremely well done. If you're that impatient and you don't give two ***** about the story, you can skip them.
As for controls and gameplay, I've had a few gripes about controls of previous MGS games in the past. MGS4's are definitely improved and they felt less robotic. Once you've had some time to adjust to how the functions are laid out, it isn't hard to get the job done when the heat is turned up, and it actually takes skill and timing to execute the more complex (read: cool) stuff. I guess a lot of people are probably turned off by a control scheme that has a learning curve no matter how rewarding it is, but for a game that incorporates so many different mechanics so seamlessly I thought they did an excellent job putting it together and keeping it fun.
Bottom line, I though MGS4 was awesome. - MasterThief117, on 08/14/2008, -0/+8I got to hand it to them.

- TBBucs, on 08/14/2008, -0/+7I was hoping for a bad ass Raiden fight scene.

- inactive, on 08/14/2008, -0/+4I'm liking the song.
- inactive, on 08/14/2008, -0/+4I'm reporting you, i hope everyone else does the same.
- Pake, on 08/14/2008, -0/+4Looks more like index fingers instead of thumbs, but ehh, maybe they have some long, skinny thumbs.
- DivisibleByZero, on 08/14/2008, -0/+4You know what. Screw it. I can do it with Greasemonkey. I'll have it ready some time tomorrow afternoon.
- staticneuron, on 08/14/2008, -0/+3What part about "skipping the cutscenes" did you not understand. Complaining about the length of the cutscenes is pointless because you can skip em. People harping this point just want to gripe about it even though they have no valid reason to do so..
- Marcatto, on 08/14/2008, -0/+3***** you to hell.
- DivisibleByZero, on 08/14/2008, -0/+3The more important problem is that web browsers still insist on showing modal alert boxes, without even letting me..say, open up firebug and put a breakpoint in there, so I don't have to totally kill firefox. Somebody needs to make a "non-broken alerts" extension.
- Jack8274, on 08/14/2008, -1/+4I think I may of made copious amounts of fecal matter in my pants from all this intense laughter.
- Marcatto, on 08/14/2008, -0/+3Make that two.
- Ytse, on 08/13/2008, -3/+5I wouldn't necessarily call this a "commercial", per say. It's too long and a bit drawn out. Maybe "viral video" is a better term.
But... That being said, I loved it. Thanks! - geneticlemon, on 08/14/2008, -1/+3Dugg for household appliances ...
- SeraphIXI, on 08/14/2008, -0/+2If Hideo Kojima and the dude that invented that Worms game collaborated.... THIS IS IT!!!

Epic. - MetalGear7, on 08/14/2008, -1/+1Ice ice baby
- ScionX, on 08/14/2008, -2/+1"Meh, the cutscenes weren't that long and I thought they were extremely well done."
While I agree they were well done, the cutscenes were definately too long. Yea you could skip the cutscene but then your missing out on the story. Theres no reason they couldn't put more of the story into the game itself rather than having you watch 15min or longer videos. - Vidalsassgirlie, on 08/14/2008, -3/+1Playing the game is just like the commercial. You're pretty much just watching a movie.
- aComa, on 08/14/2008, -2/+0The article should have at least had a thumbnail. Would have made this hands on experience even more nail-biting.
Glad this made front page in the middle of the night... otherwise we would need to search google's index due to the digg effect (ring a bell?) - Coded1, on 08/14/2008, -3/+1or was it linger ficking good?
