- indiancompanion, on 11/13/2008, -4/+45I cannot believe they left out the PS eye, it is an amazing camera, and it is more useful than most of the peripherals mentioned in that article.
- theberlindoctor, on 11/13/2008, -4/+36How exactly does a game console "beat the world"?

Hmmm? - davengineer, on 11/13/2008, -5/+34i've always liked playstation... ever since a friend loaned me a copy of final fantasy vii to try out way back when. i had never really even heard of an rpg until then.
- TheGreatZarquon, on 11/14/2008, -13/+40I see the 360th Fanboy Division has arrived. It never takes much, just the mere mention of a Playstation 3 is enough to trigger their zone breach alarms.
That aside, the list was sort of lacking. No PS Eye? - spepin, on 11/14/2008, -12/+36I'm so glad I made the switch from the 360 to the PS3.
I've got the remote and the Sony controller, but I don't have much use for anything else. - hokeywebb22, on 11/14/2008, -6/+28Holy Crap. That Play TV thing really makes me want a PS3.
- inactive, on 11/14/2008, -6/+27if by xbox 360 you mean your mom
- digitalmandave, on 11/14/2008, -2/+21Got rid of my 360 for the PS3 because:
1.3 red-rings of death & 3 replacements.Nuff' said.
2. Too noisy. I don't want to have the sound of a vacuum cleaner going on when I game.
3. No built in WiFi or web browser.Adapter extra.
4. Bluray player FTW.
5.Free membership. Why pay?
6.No power brick/chunky thick cables.
7. Slick styling.
8.Nicer controller.bluetooth headset.
9.PS2 backward compatibility. Media card reader for pics & video.
10.Games look great and will only get better with the Cell processor in the PS3.
- scabbers, on 11/14/2008, -0/+19Some people buy the PS3 purely as a blueray/dvd player. I know that's sacrilege but there you go.
- SuperVepr308, on 11/14/2008, -2/+21I beat up on the PS3 here alot for fun. Honestly though, it seems like a nice machine. Not for me but other people seem to love it.
- mywhitenoise, on 11/14/2008, -1/+18I went from hating PS3, and owning a Wii, to buying a PS3, hating Wii and selling it.
- indiancompanion, on 11/13/2008, -1/+18Good times with the playstation. I remember getting twisted metal and playing with friends, especially the second one, shooting the statue of liberty and changing it to a female with a bikini
- mywhitenoise, on 11/14/2008, -2/+18How is that retarded? Sell the 360, use the money for the other.
Some people are worried about losing their homes, or keeping their jobs...what's the point of having both consoles when they have the same 3rd party games, and most "1st party" 360 games can be played on PC. - ngmcs8203, on 11/14/2008, -1/+17In my case my wife wouldn't intuitively know how to work a controller, but a remote yes.
- deepmenace, on 11/14/2008, -1/+15lol. where have you been for the last 2 weeks?
- Rockkybox, on 11/14/2008, -4/+18Sorry but a tv tuner a bigger hard drive and you've got a DVR
- kinseyincanada, on 11/14/2008, -2/+15does anyone know if those realtriggers work? cause i really dont like the downward curve.
- MrBigWords, on 11/14/2008, -2/+15Maybe I'm missing something, but why do I need a 'Blu-ray remote' when the PS3 controller works fine for watching/navigating through movies. I haven't tried using any of the special blu-ray features - but does the remote somehow make it easier? I'm not being a dick about it, I'm just curious.
- evilJaze, on 11/14/2008, -2/+14I never gave into temptation and resisted buying a Wii. Now all my friends who went out and got their grubby hands on one regret it as they play "Mario in Gay Fruity Land v. 200" for the umpteenth time.
- BattleScars, on 11/14/2008, -0/+12Really? I actually think that the D-pad is the best thing about the PS controller :D Agree to disagree I suppose.
- mywhitenoise, on 11/14/2008, -1/+12What makes you think it isn't about financial reasons? Consoles, controllers, and games cost a lot of money. You're the one that sounds like a defensive fanboy.
- chriskzoo, on 11/14/2008, -0/+11I'm not sure why people even bash PS3 sales. It is selling well enough that there is no reason for it to not also get development for all the big titles (Fallout 3, etc. that MS has not moneyhatted) and what is on the PSN is great, IMO. It's not going anywhere.
- MeatMountain, on 11/14/2008, -1/+12THATS WHAT SHE SAID
- deadmoo, on 11/14/2008, -2/+12The problem is not being able to talk to opponents. The problem is not being able to talk to the people on your own team. It is in team based multiplayer that without communication your team feels like a series of unpredictable bots instead of a team.
- MrCrumbles, on 11/14/2008, -1/+11Unfortunately it won't be available in North American markets:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayTV
Does anyone know if there is a similar product available for US consumers? - BattleScars, on 11/14/2008, -0/+101 out of 17million ain't bad.
- Maynza, on 11/14/2008, -0/+10They tried changing it and got laughed off the stage. Remember the boomerang controller? That was ergonomic.
- tdwtomcat, on 11/14/2008, -1/+10I have unusually large hands and I don't find it awkward at all.
- 3leggedHorse, on 11/14/2008, -0/+9Changeable hard drives such a cool move in PS3 design.
First thing I done was stick a 250 one in mine. - Spire3660, on 11/14/2008, -0/+8When you have been using it for over 10 years, it is very....familiar. I dont love it, but i could never say i hate it.
- Zedian, on 11/14/2008, -0/+8Agreed.
If I had the money to buy one I would, why not own multiple consoles.
Besides its Blu-Ray looks enticing enough. - squirrelninja, on 11/14/2008, -0/+8Your a real tool and ***** might i point out.
- shinythingy, on 11/14/2008, -2/+10Yes they work, i have them.
- Aadain, on 11/14/2008, -0/+8That's called a 'defect' and not a standard practice for PS3s. Could happen with a 360, Wii, or a standard DVD player if they malfunction.
- weatherlsp, on 11/14/2008, -0/+7Its not THAT big of a deal, but the remote is always on and has more intuitive controls for controlling what you're watching (there are buttons for going to the menu and things like that.. vs having to remember which controller button takes you to the menu).
- Sornos, on 11/14/2008, -4/+11Glad to see a mic up there. I don't have a PS3 (360 myself, can't afford both), but having a team full of people who can't communicate is not really a team worth having. It's like singleplayer with really good bots. Not nearly as fun as group of talking people.
- SpeedSteamBoat, on 11/14/2008, -0/+7Wow, deja vu. Am I back in 2006 or are you just stuck there?
- AvatarofJustice, on 11/14/2008, -0/+6I'm so used to using my PS2 as a movie player (and using the controller) that remotes for DVD/Blu-Ray players feel wrong to me now.
- subliminalurge, on 11/14/2008, -0/+6The remote and the keyboard are both extremely useful. In my house those two items get as much use, if not more, than the game controllers.
- Stalks, on 11/14/2008, -1/+7Surprisingly, there is a whole world outside of the US.
- danwallace, on 11/14/2008, -1/+7How about repeating the same bad joke that's already been said 50 times in this thread?
- paulsmith288, on 11/14/2008, -3/+9Im thinking of using the sony bluetooth blu ray remote for my mythtv system
BLUETOOTH > IR / RF
my RF wireless keyboard/mouse is so unreliable in same room. My ps3 control pads work the other side of the house. - sjps220, on 11/14/2008, -7/+13I still can't believe so many people like the playstation controller. It seems like everyone else improves the ergonomics of their controllers while sony keeps the same one which makes you put your hands into an uncomfortable claw like position.
- nimnam, on 11/14/2008, -0/+6It's good to be both a 360 or PS3 owner right about now.
I just remembered today that NXE comes in 5 days. yay - FredFredrickson, on 11/14/2008, -6/+12Why did you have to get rid of your 360 to get a PS3? Is it that hard to just have both?
- mrwhitethc, on 11/14/2008, -0/+6You cannot replace the ram, you can replace the hard drive with a SATA laptop drive just make sure it is a 2.5 inch version. As for the Play TV, if you don't live in Europe where it's sold it may/probably will not work with your TV system. And as for DirecTV, unless it has an IR Blaster I'm not sure how it could work without needing a card slot.
- diggdowner, on 11/14/2008, -0/+6I didn't even know about those Gioteck RealTriggers. Article dugg just for that!
- DarkprinceArmon, on 11/14/2008, -0/+6Games are pricey on the unit, but Resistance 2, MGS4, Fallout 3, are some worthy games to play on the PS3. Games have been slow coming to the system, but I have to disagree with you that there are no games to get excited about.
- BattleScars, on 11/14/2008, -2/+7You didn't need the picture. Most people can imagine a big wallet...tool.
- spepin, on 11/14/2008, -1/+6No, I was sick and tired of being on my 4th Xbox and knowing the back of my mind it could die at any time.
What's the use of having both, really. Sure, I could probably play GoW2, but I'll stick to MGS4 instead. -
