- stuartjmoore, on 12/29/2008, -6/+17We've got an PS3 and we're thinking about adding a Wii. No room for an Xbox 360 in this house. Sorry, Microsoft.
- Kbriggs, on 12/30/2008, -0/+6Why are you buying 360 games when you own a PC? All of the good games on 360 are also on PC aside from 2 or 3.
- NGliam, on 12/30/2008, -1/+5There is consistently 60,000+ people on Call of Duty:WAW on PS3 online. I guess there are more on 360 but with 60,000 players there is never any wait for a game. Even with COD4 there is still a great number of online players. PS3 Online isn't the barren wasteland that 360 users like to think it is, it's full of great people all happy they're getting a free service that can easily rival Live.
- timusca, on 12/30/2008, -0/+3Your friends don't show anything about how the PS3 is doing. I don't know anyone that owns a 360 and know several that own a PS3, but again, my friends don't make for a good test group.
You don't no [sic] what you're talking about. - jacksons98, on 12/30/2008, -0/+3Agree PC + PS3 for the most exclusives.
- jacksons98, on 12/30/2008, -1/+4As a game system:
- PS3 had more exclusives than X360 for 2008 and they were generally rated higher. 2009 looks better for PS3 games as well.
- Price - X360 is cheaper out of the box, PS3 is cheaper over the long term and it does more.
X360 = Cheaper, PS3 = Value
-Online- Umm... I guess you missed it but PS3 passed X360 in terms of amount of people playing online several months ago. The difference X360 $50/yr to play, PS3 better online with bigger games, more user generated content, less lag and it's free. - petebot, on 12/29/2008, -3/+5If you want a PS3, buy a PS3. ...if you want a 360, buy a 360...
- t3hbagel, on 12/30/2008, -7/+9I'll buy a PS3 when it's cheaper and I decide I need a blu-ray player.
As an entertainment system, it's exactly what Sony wanted it to be.
As a game system, it's not what gamers want or need right now (price, game library, popularity [what use is online gaming when nobody else is using your console]). - mywhitenoise, on 12/30/2008, -0/+2Sorry dude, you're better off selling that piece of ***** for a real console.
- xprojects, on 12/30/2008, -0/+2If you're looking for HD games I suggest the Xbox over the PS3... my main reasons why:
1. The Xbox controllers turn off after a while to retain their battery charge, and the cable to charge them is about 8 feet longer than the PS3 charge cable. You can opt to use normal AA batteries if you wish as well, or swap out the battery pack if need be. This may seem like a minutia point, but in day-to-day use PS3 controller death has become a pretty big annoyance -- I bought a Nyko charging station and that helps a lot but does not solve the design flaws.
2. You don't *have to* install games on the hard drive. When you get home with MGS4 and a new PS3 only to find that it's going to be about 20-25 minutes before you can play it is pretty lame. But it gets a whole lot lamer when halfway through the game it has to install AGAIN. Repeat for every. single. game. Xbox has the same games with the similar load times and graphics and no installing (but you can if you want... bonus).
3. Bluray is lame. Yes, I rent Bluray movies from Netflix, but when I buy? I buy DVD. It's cheaper, I can play it in my laptop or at my friend's house or on a plane, and honestly, the difference in quality is not mind-shattering. - captainpugwash, on 12/30/2008, -1/+2just when I was thinking of buying a ps3+big ass true hi def tv ( coz one is useless without the other) sony go and say their console will be able to do 3d on the as yet to be released 3d tvs! (looked for news source, could not find) As a last gen gamer ( have ps2, xbox, gamecube etc)
I gotta say the ps3 is the megadrive(genesis) and the xbox360 is the supernintendo , that said I'm still going with the ps3 - petebot, on 12/29/2008, -2/+2Ha!
- timusca, on 12/30/2008, -1/+1Who the hell cares who is outselling who? Why does it matter? If sales said everything there was to say, then Britney Spears would be musical genius!
I bought a PS3 and will never regret it... as a gaming console, I'm sure it could use some work, but I enjoy the games I have and use it as a media center on a daily basis. - shinythingy, on 12/30/2008, -4/+2So much fail
- 3sicasity, on 12/30/2008, -5/+2is there something wrong with buying both?
- GamingBob, on 12/30/2008, -5/+1If people start buying more PS3s, game developers will more likely take advantage of the system as a result.
- frankensite, on 12/29/2008, -15/+10We've got an Xbox 360 and we're thinking about adding a Wii. No room for a PS3 in this house. Sorry, Sony.
- Redpaw360, on 12/30/2008, -7/+2Xbox 360 is outselling Ps3 in America two to one, at what point does one come to understand that the 40 million new Wii Owners would have bought a PS3 or an Xbox 360 had the two mighty dogs not failed to bring a reliable and noteworthy product to consumers.
Xbox 360 marketing showing all the great features of the dashboard interface alone is a failure, PS3 bring the wasteland called Home into your living room and expecting anyone to accept this rubbish of filth and text rape is a failure.
.....so the 40 million Wii users went with a console that would keep them retarded into their retirement, the pharmacies and Pill pusher corporations will lose millions now with no more sales of ritalin and prozac.
( studies in the future will show that wii owners actually got fatter after thier purchase than before they got a Wii ) - PHATBEn65, on 12/29/2008, -10/+2Wiis are fun for the first month and then sit until company comes over. ( I watched it happen with all my friends) The XBox 360 is the clear winner, until it breaks. I can name only one person (out of a group of 7 or 8) that has not had his or her XBox 360 break and it have to be sent back to Microsoft. I don't no anyone that owns a PS3, which shows you how well it is doing. I'll stick with the PC games until I find something worth the cost.
- frankensite, on 12/29/2008, -11/+1LOL!
- CollapseControl, on 12/29/2008, -13/+2I've been saying it since early 2006, i'll maybe get around to picking up the PS3 in late 2010. Once they get on the right track with their online service and have enough (exclusive) games that interest me, i'll look into purchasing one. The Price of the console isn't an issue with me, considering how I buy a new Xbox 360 every year.
- danbenjamin, on 12/29/2008, -15/+1We've got a Wii. No room (or need) for an Xbox 360 or a PS3 in this house. Sorry, Sony, Microsoft.
