These games are coming soon for the PS3.

- InitialDMP5, on 10/17/2007, -5/+14I really don't see what XBOX has over PS3. There are like 2 games that people buy the 360 for. Gears of War and Halo 3. Before Halo 3, people were still playing Halo 2 on their 360. And XBOX live really sucks. You can't go on their without hearing teenagers screwing around, are trying to earn achievment points instead of actually playing the game.
360 is just not the amazing system all of the xbox fans say it is. it has 3 USB ports, no WiFi, and last gens disc tech. To get everything you get in the PS3, the 360 becomes a lot more expensive. At the same time in the 360's life cycle (almost the end of its first year), there was really not many great games, just a few average games. Sony was ready to sit on its hands this gen and assumed it could ride the wave of the PS2, but they woke up and are now in the game to win again.
This next year doesn't look to great for the 360. Now that Halo 3 is out, what can you really say is coming to the 360 that won't be coming to the PS3? - TangentThought, on 10/17/2007, -0/+9I think it's a good move. They're addressing the issue of price, but at the cost of losing backwards compatibility. If you REALLY want backwards compatibility, I'd suggest holding on to your PS2. Sure, it might create clutter with all these consoles, but I guess that's the cost for taking the cheaper route.

- KrustyTClown, on 10/17/2007, -0/+8How are there no good games? Warhawk, Resistance, Motorstorm, Heavenly Sword and Folklore are all worth playing. Oblivion is a great game and is better on PS3. Coming soon R@C Future (I liked the demo), Socom Confrontation, Uncharted, Eye of Judgment, Haze, Killzone 2, UT3 and more. I think the PS3 is doing just fine, it has matched 360 sales pace this point. It is outselling 360 world wide at this point and the 360 had a year head start with no nextgen competition. Oh' and the 360's top 3 games will be on PC. Just my opinion.

- krische, on 10/17/2007, -1/+8Well, IMO, there is Resistance, Motorstorm, and Warhawk out now. Ratchet comes out next week I believe. And Uncharted comes out in the next month. Many of the other big exclusives like Killzone, Little Big Planet, MGS4, and Home come out in Q1 2008. Those all are/should be very decent games depending on your taste. So you could get a PS3 now and have some decent games to play this holiday season, and many more in the couple months after christmas.
Also, I personally don't believe in "must have" titles. If you are willing to buy a console just to play one game, then I think there are better uses for money. Lets face it when the 360 was released lots of people bought one then stuck it up on ebay and sold it for double sometimes triple the price they paid for it. The guys at sony probably saw this happen and thought "why should we sell it at a small price so that others can sell it on for the price early adopters will pay?" Now that the hardcore fans have paid over the odds for a console they drop the price once to pick up the next layer or customers and again just before xmas to maximise sales around the xmas period.
At the same time the masses are now thinking they are getting a bargin for the PS3 because the price drop so they are more than happy to hand over their cash, then in around a year when the next price drop comes and more games are out and bluray disks are cheaper - it wont be long before the hardcore fans of the 360 start to come to the dark side. Whats next years reason going to be - halo has already come and gone by that point. - Vician, on 10/17/2007, -2/+5I think the problem I, and many others have, is even if we already have a PS2 and we are/were looking to buy a PS3, we probably have an HDTV. Last time I checked, the PS2 didn't upscale my games so they didn't look ***** on the TV Sony wanted me to have... It may not be that big of a deal until you own a PS3, as I do, and compare it without upscaling and with. It does make a lot of games easier to stand while you play them. And, if you don't mind the wide-yness of characters and objects, having it go fullscreen is always nice too.
