- jasnmb, on 01/02/2008, -1/+66sorry for the "comming" typo in the title
- EugineMW, on 01/02/2008, -1/+36Sony is really stepping up its game. Grats.
- thatsmyaibo, on 01/02/2008, -3/+30Sony is rocking the ***** on making their existing products better. For everyone that hated on Sony when the PS3 came out, these systems will continue to evolve and I am proud I never jumped the gun on being on the Sony hating bandwagon.
- canthraxp, on 01/02/2008, -6/+29I see this thread will cause:
-PSP owners say "HAH, IN YOUR FACE ASSTENDO".
-DS owners showing off their DS-selling charts. And saying "yeah, but when they will make games for it?"
-PSP counteratacking with "Slap some Mario/Zelda/Old-SNES-classic-remake on a box, and call it a new game".
*flamewars continues*
As my comment insults both parties, I know I'm getting buried. - inactive, on 01/02/2008, -2/+23well, it's sort of funny. And it's probably good you said that, otherwise tons of people would be like "you said comming. buried." Good idea.
- eryximachus, on 01/02/2008, -0/+15No, it doesn't. You need to use a headset.
- elfprince13, on 01/02/2008, -0/+15what sort of audio input capabilities does the PSP have?
- grat2001, on 01/02/2008, -0/+14I wonder if Skype will make it to the PS3 as well...This would make it better than the Windows messenger and XBL pairing.
- inactive, on 01/02/2008, -7/+21Are you ***** kidding me? I JUST SOLD MINE YESTERDAY! God dammit!
- thatsmyaibo, on 01/02/2008, -1/+14How cute...Truspecto0r is back with all his fanboyisms still intact. He even replaced the Gears of War logo with the XBOX logo. I guess it really is 2008!
- inactive, on 01/02/2008, -0/+13Microphone heaset, camera with integrated mic
- TheTjalian, on 01/02/2008, -0/+10Clearly he's referring to the fact that the PSP in the picture is white. I laughed, anyway! dugg.
- JayD16, on 01/02/2008, -1/+11Insane theories 1, regular theories a billion!
- inactive, on 01/02/2008, -4/+13uh, the PSP has a microphone, right? It's okay to use a headset, but using it like a phone would be so much cooler.
- NeoCortex, on 01/02/2008, -0/+9At least it isn't shaped like a taco.
- jostheller, on 01/02/2008, -0/+9Keep dreaming. I have both and play both regularly... You'll never see Nintendo do anything like this. Nintendo is too closed system on their electronics.
- JoeDiggsIt, on 01/02/2008, -2/+11I might dig up my PSP now... woah it still has Katamari in it...
- Chris4, on 01/02/2008, -0/+9Good news for PSP fans :)
- Nobi-Wan, on 01/02/2008, -1/+10The PSP is an awesome gaming machine. Especially if you put your old ROMS from other consoles on it. It's also got some incredibly fun retail games if you ever bother actually looking at the release list.
- JayD16, on 01/02/2008, -0/+8It is stated clearly on the Sony CES site.
- Nobi-Wan, on 01/02/2008, -1/+9I'm guessing you're either 12 or english isn't your first language.
- Nobi-Wan, on 01/02/2008, -0/+8What?
- WhereAmI, on 01/02/2008, -0/+7He's a diehard visual learner.
- nerdtalker, on 01/02/2008, -1/+8No problem man, I still digg the story. At least you didn't say "cumming."
- Nobi-Wan, on 01/02/2008, -1/+8I love both systems. Why would anyone limit themselves to one system when there is a ton of fun to be had on both? I play FF Tactics, Metal Gear Solid, and a ton of homebrew SNES, Genesis, NES, PS1, etc. on the PSP and quite a few great games on the DS.
After beating Phantom Hourglass I find myself playing my PSP quite a bit more, though. Especially after I put the custom firmware and a ton of my old PS1 games on the memory stick. - inactive, on 01/02/2008, -1/+8PSP has more games than the DS, and they are rated higher on average. (metacritic/gamerankings)
To further show how stupid your remark is, PSP launched with the highest amount of games of any system ever. - dodgyd55, on 01/02/2008, -1/+7same story here :( stupid ipod touch
- geartype2, on 01/03/2008, -1/+7you never bought a cd anyways, and if you did you're a sucker.
- JayD16, on 01/02/2008, -1/+6I assume he means the PSPhat...most likely they will.
- RuckusNutz, on 01/02/2008, -1/+6No, but I will definitely hack one into it.
- inactive, on 01/02/2008, -2/+7Actually PSPs attach rate is higher than the DS
- fuzmaster, on 01/02/2008, -2/+6Ok so the phone theroy is come alive
- Nobi-Wan, on 01/03/2008, -1/+5They won't even let you make your own online name because of what some people might say/name themselves. They sure as hell won't let you talk freely on their precious money maker. The DS sells fine as is... why would they bother spending all that time and money on something that sells so well already?
- DefaultGen, on 01/03/2008, -2/+6You guys needed Skype to save PSP for you?
- swimmingbird67, on 01/02/2008, -0/+4it's not so much the going i care for... but the coming
- BLAM8, on 01/02/2008, -0/+4The proof is on Sony's site. Here's a screenshot: http://gizmodo.com/339602/skype-coming-to-sony-psp
- fkr3, on 01/02/2008, -1/+5I don't see the piont .... with your PS3 you're likely to be at home anyway where you can already use Skype.... with your PSP you can be anywhere.
- Elranzer, on 01/03/2008, -0/+3An Xbox fanboy who can't spell Xbox?
- PhillAholic, on 01/03/2008, -0/+3How is that any different then justifying a better system with "practical gaming features" over the total package? Some of us might like the non-gaming features of the PSP.
- stereoa, on 01/03/2008, -0/+3Got caught?
- Nobi-Wan, on 01/03/2008, -1/+4Dude... go look at the list of amazing games on it. Just because you may not like the PSP doesn't mean you should be ignoring everything about it.
It's got a ton of great game series such as Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy (Tactics is amazing), Puzzle Quest (easily the best version), SOCOM, Ace Combat, Daxter, etc. Plus if you put custom firmware on the system you don't even need to carry all the games you own. You can just load them on a large enough memory stick. - Starflyer59, on 01/03/2008, -0/+3I think that's truspector 2.0 or 3.0? Read the name a bit closer.
- s1mph0ny, on 01/02/2008, -0/+3This is awesome news, especially since I have one, and don't have a wireless headset.
It will be nice to see the headset options though. I don't know a lot about the connector as of now, but I suppose they could reprogram the right channel audio to mic in. - triplehelix, on 01/03/2008, -0/+2to be honest, i'm hoping they bust out a high def video eye cam, and some kind of high def video chat service.
- DarkShroud, on 01/04/2008, -0/+2What do root-kits have to do with the PS3 & PSP? Maybe I should BSOD in 360 threads.
The PS3 & PSP combo rocks. With the new game & media streaming it really it the Play Station Portable. - flair1, on 01/02/2008, -3/+5why make games if all people do is steal them?
- SirBryce, on 01/04/2008, -0/+2Well then I guess you must have seen this one coming.
- geartype2, on 01/03/2008, -1/+3You do realize that you can play playstation 1 games on the psp right? Or how about genesis games? or dosbox? nethack? hell, the psp games?
- inactive, on 01/03/2008, -2/+3No, but I am a heavy skype user, and always wanted a wifi skype phone. I had a 3.71 M33, but got caught downloading ISOs, and I'm not paying 40 bucks for games. And the homebrew for PSP can't justify $170 for me.
- flamaest, on 01/17/2008, -0/+1I saw this Skype software running on a PSP slim at CES.
When I spoke to Sony about this, the Sony PSP developer told me that the audio connector on the PSP-Slim was modified to enable this sort of functionality. This audio-plug change for Skype was planned months before the PSP-Slim came out.
I hate it when companies make a new console version with a slick feature just to push customers to buy more gear.
Check for yourself, The PSP-Slim audio connector is totally different, it has more pins for bidirectional audio, from what Sony showed me.
I ask you, what if Sony had done this with the PS3? They would go broke, because no consumer would buy a second PS3 just to talk on the phone.
Thanks,
Fabian. -
