- felman87, on 10/15/2007, -14/+157PS3, nah that *****'s too expensive. iPhone? $600 is perfect!
I'll never understand some people. - Planets, on 10/10/2007, -4/+65I'm pretty sure you just proved his point.
- wild, on 10/10/2007, -4/+39Yes Rx, because there are no games at all on the system. Sheesh people. It has games, it just doesn't have a ton of high quality EXCLUSIVES yet. That doesn't mean its a barren wasteland in which there is no fun to be had.
And no, I don't own one, and I have two 360s. Get over your fanboyism and hope SOny gets its ***** together. COmpetition is good for all of us. Think of Madden/NFL2K and how that pushed the games forward (for a while anyway). - RxDaniel, on 10/10/2007, -1/+32The phone i got for free lets me call and text people. I tend to drive when I'm in my car so I can live without the internet there. Anywhere else I have my laptop which is far better than an iPhone at browsing the internet.
- tnoy, on 10/10/2007, -5/+32Dear Sony,
Your new $399 price is perfect.
Thanks,
Your customers with a job. - rarson, on 10/12/2007, -10/+28I think they're both (still) too ***** expensive.
- drakenlot, on 10/10/2007, -2/+18My FREE (as in costing $0) cell phone texts, browses the net, plays games. I don't need a touch screen to do all that, all I need is a keypad.
Plus, please tell me you don't use your IPhone while driving, cause if you do I'll have to shoot you since my leg was broken in an accident with someone using a ***** cell while driving. That ***** has to be illegal. - ToonPang, on 10/10/2007, -6/+22Personally my favorite group are the ones who have a 'backup' 360 in case their's poops out, but still bitch that the PS3 is overpriced.
I'd rather pay a bit more up front for a system that's built better. To bad that didn't really matter for me because I still got a 360 instead for the better game selection, live, etc... - loganhid, on 10/10/2007, -6/+21yes it does with the add on of the psp
- JigoroKano, on 10/10/2007, -2/+15Please do not put Shadowrun and Blue Dragon in the same sentence with Bioshock.
- ToonPang, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13Actually a "Metric *****" is the Metric measure of *****.
- wild, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13Then why do you even care? Just trolling for fun?
- staticneuron, on 10/10/2007, -3/+15Bioshock and shadowrun are on the PC. And blue dragon is lame. You pretty much proved his point. Lost planet and gears also went to the PC.
- MagicCake, on 10/10/2007, -3/+14Ah, I love the irrational PS3 hate around here. Especially the comments saying it's still to expensive. Maybe you think the PS3 runs on magic and therefore can be as cheap as you want it, but the truth is it costs them quite a lot to make these things. If you want a cheaper PS3, buy it from someone used, or wait several years for the manufacturing cost to severely drop. They can't keep lowering the price forever. There's a point (a point I believe they've already passed) where it's just too hard to turn a profit because you're losing too much on each unit. It's fine if you're really not interested in the console, but stop saying it's too expensive. It's not a cheap toy.
- mywhitenoise, on 10/10/2007, -5/+15KingGoonie, judging by the ***** you write on digg, you're coming off as a hypocrite calling other people losers.
And I don't see how a $500 (or $400 when this thing launches) is a rip off for the ***** load of things the PS3 can do. And I'd say the iPhone would be worth half it's price (an iPhone for $250!? Hell yeah) and I HATE cell phones! - digmc, on 10/10/2007, -5/+15Truth be told here. With the announcement of a Ratchet & Clank game for the PS3 and (possible) dropping the price by another $100... at $399, I'm tempted, although I'll bide my time for the moment and just be satisfied with R&C on my PS2.
- bilbravo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10And the PS3 does nothing?
- keviniskool, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9STop RAping THe SHift KEy!!1
- totorototoro, on 10/10/2007, -4/+12The reality is that Sony wouldn't have to drop console prices if they could have gotten their three AAA titles out (MGS, Gran Turismo, Final Fantasy) within a couple months of launch.
- Smogtdi, on 10/10/2007, -5/+13heu, ya you can call people with a PS3; VOIP under Linux
- robojerk, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10Change your name to KingLoser please..
- MrSteamTank, on 10/10/2007, -3/+11You know the moment Sony decides to drop the price of their console to 399 we'll very soon see 299 premium 360's and 249 cores. This in turn will give us 199 wiis! Everyone wins! Well at least I'm hoping. 8)
- DoubleV, on 10/10/2007, -5/+13$400 PS3
$350 Xbox 360
$50 more people. that's all
And to those that say if sony drop it to $300, you're asking too much. Just like last year when you said to yourself 'if they drop it to $400, count me in!' - Birdoftruth, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9Bioshocks on PC, along with their other killer GOW
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -8/+16And now, to cut through your *****:
Army of Two = Multiplatform
Assassin's Creed = Multiplatform
Blacksite: Area 51 = Multiplatform
COD 4 = Multiplatform
Half Life Orange Box = Multiplatform
Unreal = Multiplatform
Kane and Lynch = Multiplatform
Haze = PS3-exclusive, but extremely generic, so nobody gives ***** about this game
Ratchet and Clank = PS3-exclusive
Uncharted = PS3-exclusive
For Xbox 360, the headset is included in the $350 package, this is not a separate $60 purchase as you claim. The "50(Live)" and "Yearly subscription to Live" are the same thing, so why bother listing them separately just to make your list look longer? As for the battery packs, how do you think your wireless PS3 controller works? With fairy dust? Besides, you can use rechargeable AA batteries for $5. Why bother including that on your stupid ***** list? And about the complaints about an online service that you pay for -- $4 a month buys you the most advanced, feature-packed online system ever made. Nothing on the PS3 compares. That's less than one Big Mac meal from McDonald's. How ***** cheap are you that you can't justify spending four ***** dollars a month to be able to keep in touch and communicate with your friends, even if they're playing a completely different game? You seriously can't afford this *****? Get a ***** job!
And now, here are some games you will never get to play on your console:
Bioshock = already a Game of the Year contender
Halo 3 = already a Game of the Year contender
Mass Effect = bound to be a Game of the Year contender
Lost Odyssey = bound to be a Game of the Year contender
Ninja Gaiden 2 = bound to be a Game of the Year contender
Fable 2 = bound to be a Game of the Year contender
And these are just the EXCLUSIVES! We're not even talking about games like Call of Duty 4, which Xbox 360 gamers will be able to play on a far superior online service, or Assassin's Creed which, given Ubisoft's record, will probably have better graphics on the 360. The only high-profile games the PS3 has are Final Fantasy, Gran Turismo, and Metal Gear Solid. THAT'S IT.
Enjoy! :) - exomni, on 10/10/2007, -3/+101. Would be sweeet!
2. I'm too ***** broke to even afford it for $400.
3. Games????
4. Profit. - WhereAmI, on 10/10/2007, -3/+10Warhawk?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8i guess no one is waiting for Tekken 6 but me
- Hockeymac18, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7I think he means Madden of the past...not madden of today.
- totorototoro, on 10/16/2007, -4/+11Yeah, I wouldn't buy one at $200 today either. But I would buy one at *$599* tomorrow if Final Fantasy 13 came out :P
- rowlodge, on 10/10/2007, -12/+19if they go down to $75 ,youve got a deal..
- pseudo.hero, on 10/10/2007, -3/+9For me it's not so much as it's expensive, they just seem to focused on finding it's right price and not focusing more on the software end. I want games!!
- rarson, on 10/10/2007, -5/+11Sony has been totally screwing with their pricing and strategy for the PS3, and giving their usual explanations as why they are always "ahead of the curve" ("rumble is last-gen!"). They're like monkeys ***** a football.
Honestly, with games like Lair, it really seems Sony is more concerned to screw with the price than to release great games. Not that the PS3 is completely devoid of solid titles, but it's a little disconcerting given the appearance of what it seems Sony is focusing on.
I don't own a PS3 and I have no reason to buy one in any sort of near future, even if it does drop to $399, but I want to see Sony stop fumbling this around. As stated by others above, competition benefits us all. I want to see the PS3 drop to $399, just to see MS return the favor.
I get the feeling that Sony is going to drop the hard drive if they do drop the price to $399. For all the hooplah they made about every PS3 coming with one, it would certainly fit into their pattern of asserting one thing, only to change their minds down the road (like the rumble, or the fact that they were going to stop selling multiple SKUs). Plus, I don't see how, in today's market, a 40GB HDD could cost significantly less than an 80GB HDD. - Rovient, on 10/10/2007, -3/+9Stop bloody whining! They are on their way... and it's the developers who are taking their time, not Sony.
- drakenlot, on 10/10/2007, -3/+9Their principle of undercutting? Remember the first XBOX? I do believe it was more expensive than PS2/ Gamecube.
- krische, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Download Warhawk! I can't stop playing that game!
- RainNIU, on 10/12/2007, -6/+12Obligatory Wii fanboy comment.
- djSyndrome, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6It was perfect for Apple, who still made a metric ***** of money.
- nobullmouth, on 10/10/2007, -5/+11I switched from the 360 to the PS3, after 7 mos. of no games and watching all my friends with 360's enjoy games, (the cherry on top was Halo 3) I decided to switch back. I sold my PS3 to some guy who just wanted a Blu Ray player, and took the extra money to get a couple of games for my 360. I really wanted PS3 to come back, as they have the ultimate machine in regards to features, but they have no content. I am reminded of the Neo Geo.
- drakenlot, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8Three cheers for Linux on PS3!
- Spytap, on 10/10/2007, -4/+9Dear Sony,
Your new $399 price is good, but make games.
Thanks,
Someone who owns a Wii and is going through a similar situation. - Zippo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Pfft, Canada's Thanksgiving Day is this weekend. This PS3 will most certainly not be ready in time for turkey and pie.
- Zoids, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7Like the CD?
- nobody98, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6This isn't entirely surprising. Console prices always drop before xmas.
- mywhitenoise, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8$50...you'll wait years to save $50. Man, you guys are cheap.
- marcomc2, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Of course I love my Xbox 360, well, loved - recently received the red ring of death - but for 400 dollars, I will actually finally purchase a PS3 this christmas. Good enough deal, in my opinion. Now if I can only get that 360 shipped out and fixed..
- rlg420, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6I'll add to the 360 list for you since you are clueless.
Bioshock
Lost Planet
Dead Rising
Fable 2 (since all the games you stated aren't even out yet)
Mass Effect
Splinter Cell Conviction
Just off the top of my head and you can put away GT because Forza cancels that one out. - DarkDx, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7What about ridge racer 7, killzone 2, final fantasy, the other one (There will be two XIIIs :S), Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank and many others including multi-platforms? You're just a fanboy.
- AndrewDB, on 01/10/2008, -0/+5"Monkeys ***** a football..."
Wow.. that's a new one to describe Sony.. - bashar129, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6At least it doesn't break down. Like...ahem...
