- DarkDx, on 12/12/2007, -4/+56I love how Sony took the psp, a gaming device, and made it a full-featured multimedia portable.
- jasnmb, on 12/12/2007, -1/+34sweet, the internet radio is "powered by Shoutcast"
- Zoids, on 12/12/2007, -1/+21Now we wait for DAX to work his magic...
- fani, on 12/12/2007, -1/+20Nice. PSP just keeps getting better and better....
Glad to know that Sony is releasing updates for a 2 year old product.. - charlescheese, on 12/12/2007, -3/+19Probably to add new features and to keep the homebrewers at bay because they pirate an enormous amount of games/money from them? It actually makes a lot of sense if you think about it. God forbid they release firmware to support their device and keep their users happy.
- santasing, on 12/12/2007, -0/+15But do you have games on your iPhone, or for that matter on your Wii (sorry couldn't resist)
- twtmc, on 12/12/2007, -0/+121) The wii opera browser is running on a wii with a pointing device. Of coarse it is better
2) The iPod touch is twice the price of a PSP. If you only bought it for using as a web browser, you might as well have gotten an eeePC. - o0matt0o, on 12/12/2007, -1/+11The previous firmware 3.72 already has the video scene search...
- volacide, on 12/12/2007, -0/+9PSP came first, but the menu and sounds and all that stuff actually originate back before even the PSP, with the "PSX." Sony's PS2 with a HDD and a bunch of other media capabilities. I don't think it ever saw release in the states.
Hopefully these ***** links work.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PSX_%28DVR%29#DESR-51 ...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XrossMediaBar - tacojohn, on 12/12/2007, -1/+9If Sony keeps this up, once God of War is released, I just might pick up another one (I bought on release but sold it on eBay because there weren't any great games)...
- Vorsuc, on 12/12/2007, -0/+8Guess it comes down to perference, I personally like it a lot. For a mobile browser it does a decent job of rendering most sites, once you get over the whole keypad text entry crap.
- RolltheStampede, on 12/12/2007, -1/+7can i get a decent keyboard instead of the stupid cellphone input device. the PS# has one but why doesnt the psp have one, i hate hitting 9 over and over to get " www"
- gothsquirrel, on 12/12/2007, -0/+5If the psp had that last year I might not have sold mine. That is sweet I love shoutcast.
- Vorsuc, on 12/12/2007, -0/+5Merry Christmas :
http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t= ... - inactive, on 12/12/2007, -0/+4custom firmware updates only thx
- Vorsuc, on 12/12/2007, -0/+4It don't get *much* easier than sticking in a pandora battery + mem card and you know, hitting the power button.
you holding out for the PSP thought-installed hack? - inactive, on 12/13/2007, -0/+4PSP actually has a higher amount of high quality games than the DS, according to metacritic and gamerankings
- Nobiting, on 12/12/2007, -0/+3if you have custom firmware, try a google search for 'psp replacement keyboard'. I have a pretty nice one that incorporates the analog stick.
- cusoman, on 12/12/2007, -0/+3So... I know it's powered by shoutcast, but does this also mean I can use streaming audio on other mediums... such as Pandora? Anyone know?
- WhereAmI, on 12/13/2007, -0/+3Its security of their system, something that happens everywhere. Its not like Sony is the only one to do it. Remember the exploit for a free web browser on the Wii? Well you can't do that anymore, can you (unless you didn't upgrade...)?
- inactive, on 12/13/2007, -0/+3Yea, and then you get an ISO loader on every PSP, and developers bail out.
- WhereAmI, on 12/13/2007, -0/+3Why are you putting in www?
- techlyc, on 12/12/2007, -1/+4it was supposed to be a full-fledged multimedia device from the get-go. sony just locked off all the cool stuff... the homebrew scene kinda forced sony to step up and start unlocking stuff ahead of their plan. and thank god too...
best portable device i've owned yet. the only thing it doesn't do is make phone calls... - brad995, on 12/12/2007, -3/+5I don't see what the big deal is. If you have a homebrew capable psp you could have been running pspradio for years. This is also powered by shoutcast.
- FriskDown, on 12/12/2007, -1/+3AWESOME!!!
- uncommonsmoke, on 12/12/2007, -1/+3http://dl.qj.net/PSPRadio-v0.37-Final-PSP-Homebrew ...
- kiensoy, on 12/13/2007, -0/+2Just as Apple releases firmware updates with new features when the previous has been hacked.
- ptFoe, on 12/12/2007, -7/+8still cant play divx
- superyounan1, on 12/12/2007, -3/+4I was streaming not only thousands of internet radio channels, but also video off my computer, even youtube, all more than a year ago. Just make it an open platform and put your feet up sony, all the cool apps can be made for you for free by the community
- Banshie, on 12/13/2007, -0/+1still cant play any video... no that isnt a video format
- anarchytv, on 12/17/2007, -0/+1PSPradio (homebrew streaming shoutcase) and PSPtube (streaming youtube videos) as well as PimpStreamer (streaming videos off your computer harddrive... pushed Sony to play catchup with the homebrew scene... I wonder if they would of ever done this without these applications having been created first by innovative hard working homebrew hackers... I doubt it.
- inactive, on 12/13/2007, -0/+1Um, 3.72 wasn't hacked yet....
- inactive, on 12/13/2007, -0/+1"it was supposed to be a full-fledged multimedia device from the get-go."
And it was. I had Star Trek Voyage Home ripped to a memory stick before PSP came out, played it in store. Amazed a crowd. - bightchee, on 12/12/2007, -2/+3Custom firmware permitting the PSP to run homebrew software has offered the capability of streaming internet radio for some time now. Sony is just catching up with what others have already done while they were circumventing Sony's security.
- AuburnTigers, on 12/12/2007, -2/+2Another update that I'm going to ignore because of my homebrew enabled machine! And yeah, I think playing Super Mario Bros on the PSP is a bit better than listening to that radio station
- brownr21, on 12/12/2007, -4/+4Plus you paid the Apple tax.
lolololololol - masskurec, on 03/03/2009, -0/+0best update
http://xptweak.net - cipher64, on 12/12/2007, -1/+1I wonder how would a PSphone do if it had a touch screen interface that came with two accessories a game pad that the phone would snap onto and a keypad to attach with the phone as needed.
- inactive, on 12/13/2007, -1/+11) Get over it, the cell9 input method gets quite fast, much faster than a virtual qwerty due to high levels of travel between keys.
2) Yes, with older PSPs you can get Pikey and use an infrared palm pilot keyboard. - crossers, on 07/23/2008, -0/+0sweet. Iike how sony took PSP...

http://www.chasr.org/ - inactive, on 12/12/2007, -4/+2no but the first guys right, with every update sony tries to make it harder to get custom firmware installed on your psp. there are plenty of great things you can do with CFW besides playing pirated iso's and sony tries to remove this awesome potential from their product.
- CoronaVegas, on 12/12/2007, -5/+2So I can play Sirius satellite Radio on my unhacked PSP after this update?
- graemee, on 12/12/2007, -5/+2No divx or Xvid?
- inactive, on 12/12/2007, -6/+2awsome this is gonna make hacked psp's better once they make the hack update unfortunately psp hackers need to make it easier to hack it but for everyone else this is next best thing
- dmoney22, on 12/12/2007, -7/+2score.
- grantmoore3d, on 12/13/2007, -7/+1Wow, people still use the PSP, amazing.... I got one, and it's been collecting dust somewhere for about a year now. Usually when you release a game device, it should have some decent GAMES!!!
- dmoney22, on 12/12/2007, -12/+2I thought it was more like the PS3 because its got all the media features along with the gaming stuff. They even have the same menus and sounds!
- mytimac, on 12/12/2007, -22/+4Blah, so what!
The web browser on that thing still blows. The Wii opera browser runs rings around the thing. My iPod Touch is less processor powerful but has a better and faster browser.
