What's with the whole hate thing between gamers? They are computer electronics, it's not like politics where only one is left at the end, if you enjoy one then chances are you'll enjoy the other as well considering the mass amounts of similarities between them. If you do not enjoy the other, is there really any reason to insult an opinion of many others that do? That being said, I've read on a few forums (or maybe it's this one) that this doesn't work at some Kmarts as the associates will call over a manager and subsequently deny "copied" coupons...that is, assuming you can't find the real one in the pharmacy. - KenSPT, on 11/14/2007, -0/+12Okay, well there's a K-Mart five minutes from my office. I was going to head to GameStop after work today to pick up SmackDown vs Raw 2008, but I figured I'd give the coupon a whirl.
I walked into electronics, asked for the game, and then handed the guy the coupon. It was printed on a photo printer, looked pretty darn good.
It wouldn't scan.
He punched in the numbers off the coupon, it still didn't go through.
He called over the head of another department, he didn't know what the coupon was, and said he never saw the one of those before.
They then called over the service department manager, who reiterated the same thing.
They asked me where I got the coupon, I told them "My Mother emailed it to me this morning, if it's not going through it's not an issue, I just won't buy the game.". I didn't really want to lie, but saying, "People are posting it online as a way to get money off of a PS3" wouldn't have done me any favors.
The lady was nice and said, "No, it's probably just not in our system, no big deal.", and she ended up over-riding the system and giving me the 20% off of the game.
It was alot of hassle to save $10 off of a Wii game, and I'm pretty sure if I was trying to buy a big ticket item such as a PS3 or a 360 it wouldn't have gone through. In the end however, I did get the 20% off, so I guess the coupon did "work" ... so to speak. - soupdawg30, on 11/14/2007, -0/+12I'll take it
