- Mercenary4Ever, on 10/10/2007, -2/+14I had hands on with Everyday Shooter back at GDC and it was a pretty interesting title. When you shoot the particles it makes a single sound so when you blast multiple particles it makes music. The music ranges from harp noises to guitar strings.
I think the title is coming to the PSP as well. - LethalAmbition, on 10/10/2007, -3/+12Books and paintings are works of expression and personality, and you pay for those.
- Zero2aHero, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Actually that's not true at all, I've read other interviews with him where he talked about other publishers. He said Sony was the only one who didn't want to change his game. I remember specifically one other one he spoke about wanted to add sound effects to the game because having reactive music wasn't enough in their mind, so he turned them down.

- Spankov, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8And you sound like an idiot.
- kyrre, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7Is this a one man operation? Nice how PS3 and the XBox 360 makes one man (or small) companies able to publish and make money on small and fun games. The 'previous generation' did not allow for much of that. The PS3 is both very expensive and somewhat cheap to create games for.
- Aleman360, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Oh man, a liberal artsy-programmer. The world has come to an end.
- Cyber_Akuma, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Well, Microsoft is defiantely helping with XNA. ATM there is no solution for someone to create homebrew on the PS3/Wii that can actually be sold and fully use the system, but we will see how things turn out. I dunno about Nintendo but I can see Sony possibly deciding on creating something similar to XNA.
- silverwolfe, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4This game looks awesome and it always has since it was shown off at GDC.
- Cyber_Akuma, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3If anything, you have to admit he has guts for releasing a game called "Everyday Shooter." I can't imagine S-E making a game called "Traditional RPG".
- triplehelix, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1and how do you think the museum's and library go about getting those books and paintings? maybe they pay for them?
- barret232hxc, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Jon Mak is awesome. I saw him speak on a few of the panels for the independent game summit at gdc and also talked to him at his booth. He is a real cool guy and yeah it's awesome that one guy can get his game put on the ps3. The way games are being made is totally changing. Consoles aren't the only platform though

- wiii, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Indie means "independent", not "idiotic". He makes the game like he wants it, thats independence. If someone wants to buy it, good.
Refusing to sell your stuff has nothing to do with freedom. - bloodredxxx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1man, in the end it's still all about the money... http://webfindr.com/cat/playstation-3/
- Ignathius, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2i do? last time i checked, you could read books, for *FREE* from the library.
paintings? uhhh hello? museum? - LeoChan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Not that I'm calling them Picasso or Van Gogh or anything, but games like this, Okami and Katamari Damacy can actually be used to make a point in the "Games can be art" discussion.
- Septimus, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Yeah... sure.
- Cyber_Akuma, on 10/10/2007, -3/+3XNA
Look it up. - Shanobi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0So for 600 dollars plus tax, you can play a simple game like "Everyday Shooter".
If this were on Nintendo's Wiiware channel, many of you would mock this. - shinythingy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Yes that is the response that an idiot would give, look it up and stop being an ass
- Cyber_Akuma, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1... huh?
- Skitals, on 10/10/2007, -9/+7Read the damn interview. Description is inaccurate. He didn't choose Sony, Sony chose him:
When did Sony contact you about developing for the PLAYSTATION Network?
Shortly after GDC. My agent, Warren Currell, just called me up and said "pack your bags, we're gonna meet Sony."
Sounds like an "indie artist" willing to get in bed with the first person to throw him money. - ericrous, on 10/10/2007, -8/+4"It seems that Sony, or at least the Santa Monica studio, understands that games are not mere products of commodity, but works of expression and personality."

"Sony gave me a lot of money." - HBNDonut, on 10/10/2007, -12/+8"It seems that Sony, or at least the Santa Monica studio, understands that games are not mere products of commodity, but works of expression and personality."
OK, so why do they ask us for money in exchange for their games? - Cyber_Akuma, on 10/10/2007, -6/+1"It seems that Sony, or at least the Santa Monica studio, understands that games are not mere products of commodity, but works of expression and personality."
From what *I* understand, It seems that Sony, or at least the US SCEA, understands that if a game isn't in 3D, unless its a budget title, compilation title, or you are Capcom, it isn't seeing a US release because it would make their system look "inferior" to the competition.
Atelier Iris almost didnt make it until they were flooded with angry fan mail about at first rejecting the US release. - blahtastic, on 10/10/2007, -8/+2Crap, forgot you cant navigate away before editing anymore. Anyway, this game does look cool though, kinda unfortunate its on the one console I don't have.

"Sony gave me a lot of money." - blahtastic, on 10/10/2007, -15/+7They replace them for 3 years. If you buy 12 you're a moron. Or a modder (which, admittedly, isnt wise with a 360 unless you can fix the thing yourself).
Anyways, shut up fanboy.
