These are companies that are in the business of making money and you do that by making your game available to as many people as possible. The only reason not to make it available on all systems and cut your potential consumer base is because someone is giving you money not to.

If it had been a exclusive to the PS3, Rockstar would have been able to really take advantage of the PS3/Blu-Ray. This is what Microsoft gets for not using HD-DVD as the gaming format. Now you can bet that Microsoft will kill off the 360 in the same time they killed off the Xbox.

That means the 360 wouldn't be able to handle it. It is no doubt that this game is going to be huge. I wonder what it'll be! I'm guessing something similar to GTA but even bigger. I can't wait to hear more about it.
- andydumi, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11Trade for GTA no longer being PS exclusive. It was a gentlemen's agreement, nothing paid for the new IP. Remember, Rockstar makes money out the wazoo, but they also need rep with the console makers, so they cant just sell out on their franchises all the time.

- jacksons98, on 10/10/2007, -15/+22@jimbojim Actually they didn't "buy" exclusivity to UT3, they provided EPIC with a whole bunch of their engineers so they could help EPIC build the Unreal engine and optimize it for PS3. It's a win win, Sony gets Unreal and Epic gets an engine they can sell to other developers wanting to work on PS3. Sony helps with marketing and support, but they don't flat out just "pay" for exclusives. That's your friends at MS.

Go back and play Morrowind and then replay Oblivion. There is a reason Morrowind is regarded as the better of the two in terms of depth, variety, and game length. Now, Morrowind could fit on a single DVD. Up Morrowind's graphics to the level of Oblivion, however, and it won't fit on a DVD anymore.
