Woohoo! - bdfariello, on 08/25/2008, -4/+9Please, what do you play? Grand Theft Auto? Tell me how 4 is game-changingly different than San Andreas which is, of course, vastly different than Vice City. I see a guy running around with weapons completing missions and stealing cars.
Or perhaps you're one of the guys that argues which is better between Gran Turismo 4 and Forza Motorsports. Or maybe you prefer Need For Speed. I see fancy cars that you can upgrade or buy with money you get from doing well in races.
I'm going to be minimalistic with FPS's, because there are already too many games where the objective is to run around and shoot all the bad guys on your screen with different kinds of guns.
The only thing any Final Fantasy game has in common with another (apart from the obvious sequels) is that Square makes them. Even some of the FF games that are sequels of other FF games have noticably different gameplay (try comparing FF VII: Dirge of Cerberus to the original). - Falldog, on 08/26/2008, -0/+4I just hope I don't have to play all of the games in order to appreciate the full story (assume SE decides to put one in). I don't have a PSP, nor do I have plans to purchase one, but it would suck to high hell to play the console game only to watch them reference and interact with characters only from Agito.

The stories and characters are all independent, tho they did say there may be times where characters form other XIII games make cameos.

You probably didn't piss anyone off but you did make it pretty clear you don't know what you're talking about. No one is playing to "see what else there is in the story line" because with the exception of X-2 each Final Fantasy is a different story and setting. Also, while they are all pretty similar it's not exactly the same gameplay since they often have different battle systems and what not. I thought JRPGs were supposed to keep you engrossed cuz the characters were so endearing? I mean ***** that's why I was charmed by Tales of Symphonia, Legendia, and The Abyss, because the characters stood out, even more than the ***** plot.
Seriously when will we break the stereotypes that we have to cringe through now on both sides of the planet? Bulky meathead bulletsponges over here, and anorexia-ridden girly boys from overseas.

There was an 18 year old (Terra), King (Edgar), old man (Strago), little girl (Relm), Ninja (Shadow), and middle-aged samurai (Cyan). There was also a playable Moogle (Mog), Yeti (Umaro), and previous FF5 boss (Gogo).
FF7's cast were mostly anime stereotypes. FF8 was the worst though... everyone was a college freshman. - cheesylobster, on 08/26/2008, -1/+3Agreed. I'm sick of all the super feminine pretty-boy child characters. Everyone from FFVII was very diverse, and this is one of the reasons why it was a great game. Square seems to have thrown out character development all together..
