- jacksons98, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9The online is great on Warhawk, I haven't even had a hint of lag. My brother made the comment that he couldn't even tell he was playing online it is that smooth.
1up says about the same thing: Hitting All the Bases
"In fact, Warhawk is an impressive job all around. We can run down a "competent game design" checklist, if you want: Sharp graphics? Check. Smooth framerate? Oh yeah, check. Low latency? Big check: I have yet to encounter one single moment of lag. Easy-to-use online interface and solid community support? Check and check." - sakuraz, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11Shouldn't that be the normal way?
Are xbox live arcade games even shareable? - shinythingy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7It's decompressed every-time you want to play it so it would be larger than 800mb while playing it, the Blu ray version isn't compressed and comes with some other stuff on the disc.
- gutterboy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6I am sure you are basing this on hours of gameplay in which you analyzed the product and came to this well founded an completely unbiased opinion. *cough*
- geartype2, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6yea, this seems like a moot point. I don't know of many games outside of diablo that allowed multiple accounts.
- jacksons98, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5I know they have addressed the issue, but don't know if there is a way for them to fix it or not. I haven't really followed the situation since it doesn't effect me. But it's good to get the word out. I think it would be best to pick up the retail box if that is your situation.
- natefisher, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4This is the first game that has came out for the PS3 that I am really interested in. It looks fun. How is the quality of playing on Sony's online service?
- geartype2, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4then... don't read it? I'm not going to pound you too hard, I feel the same way about *every* Iphone article up on Digg. Actually, most Mac articles. But really, I don't read them. It solves the problem.
But on another note would you rather read an article by someone who has never played the game and hates it? - sint4x, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I was skeptical about the game, but after 5 minutes of playing I was hooked. I am semi-casual, love CS, Halo, UT, battlefield 2 (pretty much all shooters) and I find Warhawk fits me perfectly.
- sint4x, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Yes, I like having the disc even though it is a true online game. Also,I was one who needed a headset so I purchased the disc. Now I have a headset that I can use with the ps3 and phone and a kick-ass game.
- Starflyer59, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Beats a comment from a person who has nothing better to do then whine about a game he supposedly doesn't care about anyhow.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Not only that but they intend to have the game update and evolve over time. Adding maps is trivial.
- jacksons98, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3@SqueakyWheel When they announced they were going multiplayer only they also announced that it would be a download title thru the PSN store. Which is why they kept the file size down. The drawback is there aren't a ton of maps, but the game is still a lot of fun and worth the $39 price or $59 if you need a headset and disk.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -8/+11And the best thing is its totally free no monthly subscriptions! oye
- sint4x, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Interface easy? I'd say so. Am I annoyed at the game full message? Yes.
Doesnt stop me from wanting to play right now tho :) - HRF1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Great game I've been addicted to since I was able to join in on the beta. I've been playing non-stop since its release. At the moment, this IS the must have game if you own a PS3.
- Burritoking924, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2We all know you dont have a PS3, stop lying and trying to make yourself look like less of a fanboy.
- Ajajadude, on 10/10/2007, -4/+5Which is why I downloaded it.
- Refrag, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2What other stuff? In another interview Dylan talks about all of the content he could put into the game because it is now Blu-Ray. But, he's clearly talking about the single player stuff that was axed.
- Frostman3D, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1It really sucks that they've done away with the single player experience. That was what Warhawk was all about for many of us. Now it's just and updated Crimson Skies multiplayer only clone. I was really looking forward to this game, but now, I'm not gonna buy it. Maybe if they make a SP campaign later, but not Multiplayer only. Shame on you Incognito.
- geartype2, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I'm not sure about Warhawk simply because I don't have a ps3, but with SOCOM it was fantastic. If it were not for socom I would probably still believe that console online gaming is never going to happen.
- senseilmno, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0they should talk to him again and ask him why were the servers down 3 days after launch
- 1nedown, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1You own a CRT tv don't you?
- Refrag, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1"Easy-to-use online interface and solid community support? Check."
Ummm, no. The server browser is annoying to use. I don't know how many times I have been told the server is full when the server browser says it isn't. - B1ooDshOt, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1too bad gamepro doesn't know how to properly spell "blu-ray" without the "e"
- Refrag, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1Game Trailers has a bunch of videos interviewing the same guy and others from the team where they talk about a lot of the single player aspects of the game -- all of that was scrapped for the multiplayer only game we got. I'm not upset with that decision, but I'd like to see some of those single player maps converted to multiplayer use and offered as a free download.
Oh, and I'd like to see them bring their server browser up to date. It's a horrible experience with server full notifications around half of the time. - truspector, on 10/10/2007, -5/+2The problem is I already have a nice headset and I don't need another one. My only choices are the PSN version (then no other accounts can play) or the disc version (which costs $20 extra and I still can't find it in stores). It isn't a huge issue or a deal breaker for that matter, I just think it was a poor choice on Sony's part.
- Midnitte, on 10/10/2007, -3/+0"DJ: Calling all Cars is a fantastic title, but I think it fits people's convention of downloadable content. I think, and this isn't me just trying to spin it because this is the way Warhawk is, look at the way things have been happening on the PC for quite sometime, look at how Steam.com has been going,"
WTF is steam.com? does he mean steampowered.com? what an idiot =/ - truspector, on 10/10/2007, -6/+3Yes, every account on the console it was downloaded on can play the game. With the warhawk download only the person who downloaded the game can play it on the console it was downloaded on, however, you can take it to another console, but it is still locked to the single user account. Sucks for homes that share PS3's, as the rankings (once they actually get them working) are going to be a big ***** of everyone having to use the same account.
- Propapanda, on 10/10/2007, -5/+1So they might eventually finish the game.
- xwwdesign, on 10/10/2007, -5/+1Does he talk about the restrictive DRM that makes it where only one account per console can play the downloaded version?
- truspector, on 10/10/2007, -11/+6Does he talk about the restrictive DRM that makes it where only one account per console can play the downloaded version?
- FiP0, on 10/10/2007, -9/+2The wii rules all.
- rooftopsuicide, on 10/10/2007, -9/+1cue the sony fanboys waving their hardons in the air, and the xbox360 fanboys saying how PS3 is tEh sUx()Rz!
- SqueakyWheel, on 10/10/2007, -18/+10All 800MB of it. Blu-ray for the win!
- daridave, on 10/10/2007, -10/+1Yay, an interview with a guy who made a game that is over-hyped and pretty much, lame. Now THAT's a good read!
- FiP0, on 10/10/2007, -11/+1The wii rules all.
