- TheCheeks, on 12/04/2007, -0/+48Anyone else think "after the jump" is retarded?
- brbeaird, on 12/04/2007, -0/+21lol @ "yeah, it plays better but unfortunately I don't."
- z3r0c0O1, on 12/04/2007, -0/+17That guy playing is terrible.
- badwithcomputer, on 12/04/2007, -0/+14this article had me at the diggscription: "In another demonstration of Humanity's relentless quest for fun..." go suck on that writing, engadget.
- zeros200836, on 12/04/2007, -3/+15you've reached a million points. your a fag
- JoH0e, on 12/04/2007, -0/+11I don't understand what the point of the built in screen is. Are you supposed to look at it when your playing?
- papusman, on 12/04/2007, -0/+9I'd be more impressed if he didn't play like Randy Marsh.
- SuperCUBE, on 12/04/2007, -0/+8Why would he bother working on such a thing if he doesn't even play the game? :/
- floridiot2, on 12/04/2007, -1/+8People still can't get you're and your down yet?
- Acidictadpole, on 12/04/2007, -0/+7Yeah I can't really think of any practical application for it. I guess the only real answer is: "Because I can".
- Hetman, on 12/04/2007, -0/+7Was he really that ***** or was the pick just unresponsive is what I would really like to know.
- Acidictadpole, on 12/04/2007, -2/+8I think the ps3's and 360's look alike..
At the least it looks like the one displayed on the back of my GH3 case for 360. (I just bought the game and am using the gh2 one. - smspence, on 12/04/2007, -0/+6speeky de english?
- Acidictadpole, on 12/04/2007, -0/+6He also turned his wireless guitar into something that requires wires AND batteries now :(
- Laxaloot, on 12/04/2007, -0/+5dugg for "diggscription"
- Sikarian, on 12/04/2007, -0/+5Anyone really have any ideas how you would INSTALL a magnetic strum bar? I'm saavy enough I can solder and setup some such, but I've never really heard of magnetic switches and their concept eludes me.
Someone needs to make a walk through. The LCD screen I see limited use for, but I would absolutely LOVE a magnetic strum bar in my guitar. I have a lot of problems doing the fast notes, because I can't do the back and forth action very well, but if I could strum a magnetic pick, I could definitely hit what I need - signal15, on 12/04/2007, -0/+4I think this is for people that read the news in an RSS feed, and don't see the video until they click on the link to the original article. I don't use RSS, so I think it's stupid too. :)
- turrican, on 12/04/2007, -0/+4Not all engineers aspire to be racecar drivers...
- kcap122, on 12/04/2007, -0/+4They're both de-glorified versions of real-life activities.
- chiefbandit2200, on 12/04/2007, -1/+4oh yeah, it must be so much more realistic... almost as realistic as, i don't know, playing a real guitar?
- KnockoutNerd, on 12/04/2007, -5/+8The ps3 guitar with the 360 dashboard on its screen, I wonder how he got the ps3 guitar to work with the 360.
- rdoger6424, on 12/04/2007, -1/+4dugg for digging
- psylence, on 12/04/2007, -0/+3Good thing the object of the game isn't to look good.
- down4twenty, on 12/04/2007, -0/+2reminds me of the time pimp my ride installed 4 Tvs onthe bumper, 2 Tvs on the sides and one Tv under the car...
- Snowblindz, on 12/04/2007, -0/+2Why would he go through all that trouble when he sucks ass at the game?
- grantmoore3d, on 12/04/2007, -0/+2Ummm... what's the point!?
- carrera594, on 12/04/2007, -1/+3hmm i didnt notice that, you are absolutely correct.
- bejayel, on 12/04/2007, -0/+2Notice the PS button labeled PS right beside the d-pad?
- maci01, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1Was thinking the same thing. What would be useful (sorta) would be to have a screen on the Rock Band drums.
- inactive, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1More interested in the magnetic switch myself.
- Acidictadpole, on 12/04/2007, -1/+2He does say that the guitar plays well, it's just himself that sucks.
- ZiggityZhang, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1Wonder if the response time is hurt though..how are you going to beat Through the Fire and Flames with that?
- Sikarian, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1Of course I've learned hammer ons, not all of them are hammer ons though. The ones that get me are the quick successive same note ones a-la barracuda, TFAF riffs near the beginning and and, Knight of Cydonia, etc.
- Acidictadpole, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1I believe the term is 'shredtacular'
Only issue I have with the who guitar thing is that the strum bar is too loud.. If it were pretty much silent that would be better.
Hearing click click click click click click click x 1535325 during through the fire and the flames can get really annoying. - khyberkitsune, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1Oh, I can help you with that. It's a simple wrist exercise. Find a snuff can. Learn how to thump it. The same motion applies in picking or strumming. practicing that will help you build up some speed, and a little extra rhythm.
It may also help you to 'put your shoulder into it' (move your shoulder along with your picking hand to achieve a faster strum speed) - inactive, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1Looks like the built in LCD screen has a faster ms response time than his TV.
- robin1989, on 12/05/2007, -0/+1also if you check out the original post on acidmods he is turning it into a guitar that is able to play its self if he wants it to - make up for his poor playing
- robin1989, on 12/05/2007, -0/+1cyber will im sure write up a tutorial and a parts list if you ask for one in the acidmods forums
- robin1989, on 12/05/2007, -0/+1plus when i was talking to him he didnt have the game that long and i dont think has played other GH
- solidus636, on 12/04/2007, -1/+2Ahh...new guy i see...
I'll let this slide....for now. - aelias, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1"after the ad" is more descriptive, truthy and 20% more efficient to type as well.
- SohailKhanifar, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1You'd lose the pick too quickly, and i'm guessing i'd be pretty hard to find a replacement.
- solidus636, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1Cyberpyrot(the guy who did the mod) said the touch screen is the whammy bar, so sliding your fingers across the
touch screen makes the whammy bar move and what not... - turrican, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1Especially given that knowing that reference would mean that you must have *seen* the correct version, sheesh.
- khyberkitsune, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1You haven't learned how to do the hammer-ons yet? Well, I can't blame you, the hammer-on notes aren't so obvious.
- Impulsar, on 12/04/2007, -2/+2like i do
20 years
you not read so well?
why are you reading a pc screen
isn't a coloring book 'so much more realistic'? - goatfucker, on 12/04/2007, -1/+1The magnetic pick is a cool idea, but the LCD makes the controller wired (power cable). Also, he is horrible at GH, come on, missing notes on easy?
- jakeamoore, on 12/04/2007, -1/+1I thought of that over the summer. If only I had the know how and ass-load of money.
- lolo2007, on 03/08/2008, -0/+0A magnetic pick and sensor is a great idea.
I love playing guitar and Guitar Hero. This would make it much more realistic and shredilicious. Not to mention eliminating the annoying click-click of the strum bar if you are forced to play in a semi-quiet environment.
This will be HUGE if Red Octane/Activision and their followers develop it.
Next step is gonna be third party full size guitars and custom mods.
