- Treshnell, on 12/01/2008, -4/+19This was the year of the 360, from a Christmas perspective anyway. All the best game console deals have been 360 deals. PS3 hasn't really had anything that makes you want to go out and buy it right now.
With the 5 free bluray movies, last year was PS3's chance to shine at Christmas. I missed out on that deal, and was hoping for a similar deal this year, but it looks like I'm left out again.

That said, the license system in the GT games are the only thing that made the game any fun at all. Without it I would have surely given up from frustration with not known how to drive. That's not to mention that I also learned quite a bit about the mechanics of driving a real car just from those exams and playing the game.
If you're into cars it's all fun. If not then I wouldn't play it if I were you. Either way, why complain? No one is going to make you play it, and just because you don't find it appealing doesn't mean no one else does either. - chaosblade77, on 12/01/2008, -3/+14Where do you get your consoles and games?

- chaosblade77, on 12/01/2008, -2/+10It seems like most developers/publishers have trouble getting the timing right for hyping and advertising a game before release. It's almost always too early (SCE) or too late (Nintendo).
I guess you can't really come up with a "best time for announcement" that works for every game since they are all different. Still, I think the "Smash Bros Strategy" was great, it just didn't account for the delays of the game. - plingboot, on 12/01/2008, -3/+9Oh come on the ps3 is far from dead. And I say that as a day one 360 owner. Microsoft have to practically give the thing away in order to compete with PS3. 360 feels cheap and cheerful, you very much get what you pay for with the 360. Mine sits on a box covered in fans -its nosy, temperamental and uses clunky 13 year old dvds. To me, it's as if microsoft cobbled together a 'next gen' system from bits and pieces they had lying around, whereas Sony engineered a true next gen system from scratch, cell processor, blue ray, free psn. Maybe it took longer to get to market, but good stuff takes time. The fact that their greatest game is still not available should tell you something about the quality coming out of the sony camp. The next time my 360 dies I'll bin it and buy a ps3.
