- mywhitenoise, on 10/10/2007, -1/+39I really hope they make it free. I was willing to spend $20 on the download. Good news for me.
- bstew22, on 10/10/2007, -4/+40umm... that's basically my strategy for winning races....riding the wall at 120mph... i am so screwed now.
- coheedcollapse, on 10/10/2007, -2/+31"Prologue will feature 16-player online races, 50 cars, 5 tracks and support for 1080p resolution."
Show me another demo with that much depth. - evozero, on 10/10/2007, -2/+27if it's anything like Gran Turismo 4 : Prologue, i'd hardly call that a demo. GT HD is a demo.
- coheedcollapse, on 10/10/2007, -5/+29I think the thing that I'm most excited about is that we finally get damage in the GT series. Although I got used to it after a while, nothing killed the realism of the game like ramming into a wall and just sort of sliding along it with no damage.
- Ibox, on 10/10/2007, -2/+23You have to buy a PS3.
- holygram, on 10/10/2007, -1/+21Its good they're doing this, especially since they could probably sell an empty "Gran Turismo" box at this point..
- nissansupragtr, on 10/10/2007, -3/+22Car Damage? Online? When gt5 arrives, so will my reason to buy a ps3
- zohar, on 10/10/2007, -0/+15And if that happens to be true I can just create a European PSN account and download it from there.
- nreynolds, on 10/10/2007, -2/+13you obviously don't know anything about Gran Turismo... I'll leave it at that.
- ThreeDee912, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10" Among other things, Prologue will feature 16-player online ..."
Uhh... - lvbuckeye, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11i saw a Ferrari. that in its self is reason enough for me to finally justify the purchase of a PS3.
- Sabin, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Good thing I set up a Japanese store account the first day I had the PS3.
- dandonia, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7"Among other things, Prologue will feature 16-player online races, 50 cars, 5 tracks and support for 1080p resolution. Looks like there will be more car customizations too -- it's been reported that one car (a 2000 TVR Tuscan Speed 6) was available in 21 different colors. It's been also revealed that Prologue will debut car damage to the game series."
Thats some serious demo, what was the Forza 2 demo like again? - Seriously i cant remember how many cars were there in the demo? How many tracks? And how many people could you play against online in the demo? - is GT below standard or what? - gwolf, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8I hope that's all true; should hold us over until the release.
- noizeuk, on 10/10/2007, -3/+9I am going to buy a PS3 soley for this game. After all, i bought a PS2 for GT3. Over here were looking at £449 which amounts to about $900. Horay for the UK.. not.
- sathias, on 10/19/2007, -0/+6I was going to make a smart-arsed comment about how "impressive" it is that they are releasing what is basically a free demo, but 5 tracks and 50 cars for free (plus multiplayer) is actually pretty generous.
- mywhitenoise, on 10/10/2007, -4/+9Right nows a good time to buy. It's $350 if you pay by the Sony card on the Sony store...can't remember what it's called. On top of that you can get the 5 free blu-rays and resell them for about $100, basically making it as cheap as a Wii. I should have done that.
- Sniper, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Can the PS2 connect to the PlayStation Store? Theres your answer...
- Zoids, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7GT 4 Prologue sold pretty well if I remember correctly.
- Rayonic, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5No damage in GT5 Prologue. Though they said that it might be a downloadable option in the future.
- coheedcollapse, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5There have been multiple interviews with people working on this game confirming that there would be damage in this version and explaining the difficulty of obtaining permission from the car companies to include it. I think you're reading too deeply or something.
- coheedcollapse, on 10/10/2007, -4/+7So Half Life 2 Episode 1 is a demo since the main game comes with a much longer scenario?
- catharz, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Porsche isn't such a great loss as they always have the RUF tuned Porsches.
Lamborghini is more of a loss IMO. - djSyndrome, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Too bad Porsche is still holding out :(
- CheeseheadDave, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2It'll probably be paid for by all the people that have been on the fence, finally rushing out to buy a new PS3 just to play GT.
- coheedcollapse, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Makes enough sense. Hope it'll be out there. either way I still enjoy the franchise (although I'd really like to be able to see all those pretty cars in smashed form).
- bj00rn, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2It's not going to be free, it's just pure speculations. I estimate either a barebone download + microtransactions, or ~$20 + microtransactions.
- gwolf, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2And that's *****. Fan boys listen to me, if they think you will buy crap so long as the label on the box says what you expect, you will get crap in a box. Be honest because they are listening and will try harder to earn you business and your respect. Make them work for it!
This game in particular is the reason I spent $600.00 on a PS3, If a great GT5 is all I get out of it I will be happy as can be. - CheeseheadDave, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I'm willing to bet that it's an "investment" as there's likely to be a big spike in people who have been waiting to get a PS3 to finally make the purchase, just for this game.
- fallenone05, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I have an american and european account, so I get anything I want from these two markets, if I see I need for it, I will also create a japanese one.
- YoctoYotta, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Your mom is the PS3s killer app.
- CheeseheadDave, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Agreed. I finally bought one over the weekend, getting the 60 GB model (with the Emotion Engine for my PS2 games rather than the software emulation that the 80 GB model uses) before they ran out. You can already download GT HD Concept which only has ten cars and a single track, but is still spectacular to look at.
- dandonia, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2whats £449 -the ps3's on game.co.uk come with two pads and three games and they are £425 surely someplaces are doing it cheaper on its own
- zetsurin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Darwin was obviously wrong.
- goblindegook, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2You can download stuff from other PlayStation Stores, all you need to do is create a user in that country. Besides, Blu-ray games are not region locked, so your imports will work just fine on an unmodded PS3.
- djSyndrome, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Give us a call when Forza sales come anywhere near Gran Turismo's.
- zetsurin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Woolworths were selling a bundle (PS3 + games) for £375 over the long weekend. You won't be paying £400+ by the time GT - P comes out unless you go shopping with your eyes closed.
- catharz, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Actually, it was mentioned at Leipzig that GT Mobile will be coming out after GT5.
- bilbravo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I checked on this a couple of days ago and the 60gb was out of stock. Must be selling well because of this deal.
- Ocelot13, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1whats that, you can get all of this already in Forza 2?
- Rovient, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Either way, it's free. So please stop crying.
- ozid, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I dont know about HL... but the prologue has always been demonstrating things that are upcoming in the next GT... It makes perfect sense.
- dysonlu, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3What's "Forza"? Is that the game where you drive a Ford pizza delivery car?
- YoctoYotta, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yeah, wow, never thought I'd get to use RTFS.
- BearinG, on 10/19/2007, -0/+1Doesn't the article say "(The full version of Prologue will retail for about $43.)"
- ReCkLeSsX, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Now that is awesome.
- BearinG, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Reason for this being dugg down?!
- dandonia, on 10/10/2007, -3/+4Did my own research
"The (Forza 2) demo will feature 24 playable race cars on one of the new circuits (no details on which one!). There will be 7 other competitors on the track against you, all controlled by the A.I."
I see how you could make a case for GT5 Prologue been a demo - i mean its only got just over double the cars from the Forza demo and 5 x the tracks and more than double the amount of competitors on screen and oh yeah they can be controlled by your mates online. Not to mention (although this is stretching now) the car customisation and 21 colours for the one car (wow - not) but yeah I see how you call it a simple demo then scoff at it.
I'l tell you this - if the smackdown demo comes with 50 playable wrestlers in 5 arenas with alternate costumes and supports 16 player online and other customizations i would pay £40 for it. - BearinG, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Micro transactions will be my reason not to buy GT.
