- wevegotthejazz, on 10/11/2007, -1/+27I'm stunned a game that looks this good on the PS3 AND supports native 1080p
like most everyone else on digg I bought into the justified anti-PS3 sentiment going around, but after seeing this it's becoming really obvious that we haven't even come close to seeing what this thing is capable of - djSyndrome, on 10/11/2007, -2/+27New trailer here: http://www.gran-turismo.com/jp/movie/d944.html . The in-car modeling is fantastic.
- kenvsryu, on 10/11/2007, -3/+26If you want realism, shut off your tv when you crash at 120mph.
- slimthps, on 10/11/2007, -3/+21Best graphics I've ever seen.
- piper999, on 10/11/2007, -4/+19It makes look Forza 2 look a little sad.
- Garou, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12The graphics are absolutely amazing, definitely blasts Forza right out of the water (as long as the finished product looks like that, or better).
Lets just hope the that there is gameplay to match. - Powerdrift, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10The only reason I bought a PS2 was for GT4. Thankfully, the PS2 was only $200.
Ugh, I don't know how long I'll be able to wait once this comes out to get a PS3. - Powerdrift, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9Oh, the irony.
- asty, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8I rarely comment but the 720p video of this game has just totally blown me away. The in cockpit view of the new Audi TT is so detailed I can easily tell the car is not equipped with magnetic ride nor type pressure monitor, but does have heated seats and standard spec stereo (I own one). Unbelievable!
If I'm a little picky, the driver 'seemed' to brake without using the brake pedal and 'may' have downshifted without using the flappy paddles, but were talking major advances for a console here and a total step up from the in car view in PGR3. I would buy a PS3 for this game alone if it plays as good as it looks. Now if only my XBOX 360 wireless wheel was compatible......... right back to playing Forza 2 for now :) - mogera, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Holy Hell that looks good. The in-car modeling was on point. See, its the level of detail and all out realistic appearance of the models that sold me, its what was lacking in Forza for me (the cars in there seemed pseudo-cell-shaded). These look like actual video footage. Oh and those physics rock! Now if only they could get some damage modeling in there, and I'm good to go.
- OhFrak, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8Nope, you'll be able to download it in any region.
October 2007 Japan, NA, and Europe will all be playing this amazing 1080p 60fps graphical goodness. - coheedcollapse, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8I know they're working on it. That's one of the main things they've been stressing that is included in GT5. No idea if Prologue will be carrying it.
- DarkJC, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8PS3 games are region free. Even if it's not available here, it's easy enough to import.
- Powerdrift, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Be sure to watch it in HD
- ausfahrt, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5I have a feeling it will. I think that anyone who has played GTHD would have loads of confidence.
- leftfoot, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Hopefully the engine sounds are as good as the graphics, if that's true, I'm sold.
- synagence, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7Given that the GT series has always been known for its major emphasis on realism (yes yes .... asside from the zero damage) but i'm talking physics here.....why do the cars not make any tyre marks when the spin the wheels ..... its a important part to make them look real for me ... car does a 360 spin and leaves no visible marks on the road ..... sort it!
At least they seem to have made the cars sound a little more interesting / realistic this series ... the GT4 cars still sounded terrible. - leftfoot, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5All of the Gran Turismo games offer tuning EVERYTHING in the car, suspension, brakes, downforce, etc.
- Yodzilla, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Yes, Gran Turismo definitely features a very in depth tuning system. Besides engine parts you can swap out suspensions, lighten the body, apply new brakes, rip apart the transmission, etc. The Forza series definitely follows the mold that the GT games established for console sim games so if you're familiar with that series you know what to expect. Hell, there's even tuning in the free GT:HD game that's on PSN now.
- samdu, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Clearly you haven't seen GT:HD.
- djSyndrome, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Genius, it's going to be a downloadable title. Get with the 21st century.
- Tippis, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4If you've never seen the AI cars in GT drive off the track, you haven't played it enough...
- Powerdrift, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Better screenshots are found at the website.

Look who's in last place :P - cajie, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5"Here" refers to anywhere in the world where PS3 is available.
- luperry, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4it's a freaking driving sim, not a RPG.
and did you mean importing it when you said "pirating it"? cuz as far as I know, there is no way to pirate a PS3 game as of yet. - catharz, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3With uncompressed 7.1 surround sound, they certainly have the scope for it.
- peterjmag, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6Looks like they finally got the Ferrari license! *cheers*
- piper999, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3@gwolf Its just a videogame you pathetic illiterate little *****.
- CReyes4182, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Piper your the first person I've ever dugg that used the word "*****" but yeah your right.
- catharz, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2There's a good reason why they weren't.
Their albums were ***** after the 2nd.
Btw, it was GT1 that got me buying their albums in the first place. - ausfahrt, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Well you havn't played many sims then cause neither Forza, nor GT are held in high regards in the true sim gaming community.
- catharz, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2By saying an existing game does something better than one you can't have possibly played you're asking to be buried deep.
- lozaning, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3iirc they don't include it because the manufacturers wont sign a release to allow showing their cars smashed.
- CReyes4182, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The majority is always right... thats why bush won two elections in a row... oh wait..
- CReyes4182, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1If you have access to PSN you can download two new movies in HD. The game looks insanely good.
- formulathree, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1
Looks like that POS Forza 2 will be relegated to the sideline in record time. Sucks to be a 360 user. - elvenseven, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2spammer
- rasputinaxp, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2So wait, let me get this straight: they're releasing ANOTHER GT demo? Like, not a full game, or more than a few tracks? Meaning GT5 will be out by Xmas season 2008? I don't get it.
- NecroSexy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Prologue? That's rather out of place. What's the sequel going be, Grand Turismo Foreword?
Anyway, it looks great. - colincornaby, on 10/11/2007, -3/+4"You thought you'd have to wait until 2008 for some Gran Turismo fun, didn't you? Well you can stop thinking that right now as the latest piece of news to come out of the PlayStation Premiere event in Tokyo is an announcement that GT 5 prologue will be available in Japan in October."
Translated: If you live in the U.S. you will have to wait for it to come out in 2008, just like you thought. - rasputinaxp, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1So the open beta will be paid for? Sheesh. I wish I could get paid while other people did my work for me.
- catharz, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1More to the point, they don't want their cars damaged "realistically".
The GT series creator (buggered if I can remember his name), said he'd only do it if he could do it realistically.
Forza 2 gets away with it because their damage is toned down a LOT.
The Burnout series can do a lot of damge because they don't license any names and they make up their own names for cars. - YouRookies, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Is this thing going to be free too?
- catharz, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Who needs to translate it?
It's not like we'll need to follow Japanese road signs in the game. - frygar, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Stuff it, fanboy. If we wanted your opinion, we would have read it off of maj. nelson's blog already.
- catharz, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I doubt this will be a free demo.
It'll be like GT4 Prologue on the PS2. Budget title with a few tracks, the license tests, a bunch of cars, and in-game bonuses in the full release for having purchased it.
I'm more than happy with them doing it this way. It means we can have some online play and do the license tests while they complete the game. It also takes a little pressure off the developers do they can improve the game (in response to feedback) while we basically get a totally open beta. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Looks great...I wonder if it the same when playing
- Mosatii, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2It may look good, but is the handling based on life like physics? Is there drafting, tuning, meaningful upgrades other than engine parts? If not then it's just a pretty face without anything of substance.
Can anyone answer those questions? Also, did I just see a console game with AA? - rowlodge, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1i would be all over the game if it was online, i dont know for sure but ive never seen any footage of people playing online for some reason.
- avisotin, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1***** lame. It's all about ego, isn't it?
