- toefer, on 01/29/2008, -0/+35It'd be nice if you could download Prologue from the PSN, and then when the full game hits, pay a fee to upgrade to the full version. Wishful thinking, I'm sure.
- dansmeek, on 01/29/2008, -5/+38i got the imported prologue from japan and it's worth every penny. GT has added tons of new physics to play with, and... its challenging as hell. if you don't like GT (truspector) then who cares, don't buy the demo (oh wait, you can't cuz you don't have a PS3). also, waht does that make the demo for GT prologue? a demo of a demo? well that demo still has a lot more content than 99.9% of the other demos.
the tracks are challenging as hell, and you'll get 100's of hours of gameplay on this 'demo' if you like multiplayer. the single player alone is going to take a good 10-20 hours to complete.... unless of course, you are an expert racer.
can hardly wait for the full GT to be released. - distrbnce, on 01/29/2008, -8/+33ah, truspector. Here to flame as always.
If I could vote your comment as inaccurate, I would. I believe that if you had no games to play you would be here flaming every Playstation post. ;D - Etchii, on 01/29/2008, -0/+21HD Concept was one hell of a demo..of a demo. I'm sure this full blown demo will be awesome.
- distrbnce, on 01/29/2008, -0/+21I submit to you, sir, that since this is the original, official source, YOURS is a duplicate!
- tumbler360, on 01/29/2008, -1/+22What exactly is GT5 Prologue? Is this the next Gran Turismo game or not? I'm so confused...
- Starflyer59, on 01/29/2008, -15/+36As I've pointed out to you before, you do in fact pay for demos via your purchase of an X-Box Live subscription.
- drizzlelicious, on 01/29/2008, -3/+23I really don't see a point in buying this game. Will wait for the full GT5 game
- mywhitenoise, on 01/29/2008, -5/+24I wish every demo had as much content as this, 60 cars, 16 tracks, online play. I can't think of one 'demo' this has that much content.
$40 is hell of steep, though. I'll just wait till I can get it for $30, by the time GT5 comes out, I can resell it for $15. - watership, on 01/29/2008, -0/+16Its the preview version of Gran Turismo 5.
From Wikipedia:
"This short version title is a precursor to Polyphony Digital's planned Gran Turismo 5. Gran Turismo 5 Prologue features 16-player online races (starting in Christmas 2007), 37 cars, 5 tracks." - distrbnce, on 01/29/2008, -4/+18Most people already own a Bluetooth headset, or at least a USB one. But using non-proprietary products is probably a foreign concept in your price-bloated, Microsoft branded wonderland.
- shinythingy, on 01/29/2008, -7/+21Do you know? Better to have 44,500 more mature people on at once than 89,000 pre pubescent kids screaming noob at the same time.
- mywhitenoise, on 01/29/2008, -3/+16Who gives a ***** how many people were playing COD4 on xbox live? Go in a PS3 game, and you'll still get a room full of people.
- distrbnce, on 01/29/2008, -1/+14Brilliant argument! Wish I could hear that sort of intelligence on XBL.
Brush up on your Italian though, it's Forza. - ELCad, on 01/29/2008, -2/+15I'm waiting for GT Foreword myself.
- inactive, on 01/29/2008, -0/+12I still want my GT4 mobile.
- whateverHeSaid, on 01/29/2008, -0/+12Hey, it's Rainier, the PR guy from worthplaying.com! This is the same guy who gets all of his worthplaying spam posts deleted at Blues News.
- djSyndrome, on 01/29/2008, -3/+15And not region-locked, to boot.
- mattmy, on 01/29/2008, -4/+16damn now i have to get a ps3
- distrbnce, on 01/29/2008, -1/+12No, it's purely optional.
- WhereAmI, on 01/29/2008, -3/+14Or we can play PSN where we can get any demo now.
- mywhitenoise, on 01/29/2008, -4/+14ah, you're right. "16 online races", kotaku's article is kind of deceptive. 5 tracks is pretty gimped, but I loved Warhawk and that only has 6 maps.
- jacksons98, on 01/29/2008, -2/+12The gameplay doesn't suck you just suck at driving, ever thought of that?
- Typhoon2009, on 01/29/2008, -1/+111. You aren't being forced to buy it
2. I didn't hear so much crying about GT4 Prologue
3. It's more of a collector's thing than anything else. Knowing how Polyphony likes to make sure every last polygon is right, Prologue can tide you over until the full game is released. - Mullinsmcd, on 01/29/2008, -0/+10Its like 1/4 of the game for 2/3 of the price. This is only meant for serious fans. If you want to wait until xmas for the full version then feel free.
- distrbnce, on 01/29/2008, -1/+11So don't buy it and move on with your life.
- BabyWookie, on 01/29/2008, -2/+11I don't have XBL Gold, but I can still get the demos just fine. It's gay that I have to wait a week after their are released, but I can still get them for free.
- svander, on 01/29/2008, -0/+9Gran Turismo is such an institution that can afford to sell you a "demo" so to speak. And people will buy it. I know I will. But I can also tell you I wouldn't for any other game out there.
That's who this is aimed to; the fan that is willing to pay for it.
If you don't, no harm done. Quit your bitching. End of story. - mickael1, on 01/29/2008, -0/+9Its the main reason I got a psp, and almost 3 years later, no release date in sight :(
- nerdherder, on 01/29/2008, -0/+9When you talk you sound like you are arguing with yourself.
- distrbnce, on 01/29/2008, -1/+10jschluchter, being retarded does NOT make you cool; contrary to popular belief.
- dansmeek, on 01/29/2008, -3/+12man hd concept is *nothing*. i thought it looked good than i saw the gran turismo prologue demo. which was a completely new engine. i was skeptical of buying a japanese version -- but there is a lot of english in the game. and in the GT forums, people have translated the menus that are only japan.
i was slightly dissapointed prologue is bare bones. no upgrades or tweaking. just straight up stock racing. but there is a lot more strategy this time around. the graphics are improved... but OH BOY the physics in insane. things you wouldn't expect to be taken into account are in the engine. and the new "in car" view is awesome.
i do hope damage modeling can somehow make it... but, being how complex that is.... i'm not expecting it. - bobthegreat1224, on 01/29/2008, -5/+14You mean they have to wait an entire 7 days to get the exact same thing for free? Sounds like they're getting screwed sideways to me. I mean, they could just pay $40 and have it same day.
- RyanistheRyan, on 01/29/2008, -13/+21To EVERYONE who is complaining about paying 40 dollars for the demo, especially Microsoft Fanboys.
ALOT MORE paid full price - $60 - for the DEMO of HALO 3!!! (Crackdown included)
I was one of them :-/ - Soulbow2, on 01/29/2008, -0/+8Reality is fun if you like driving games. If you don't like driving games, why are you posting in these comments?
- jacksons98, on 01/29/2008, -2/+10First you don't "have" to do anything. GT: Prologue is far from a demo, it includes quite a few tracks, cars, online play etc... Gran Turismo has a fanbase of customers who are passionate about cars, if you just can't wait for the full release, Prologue is there to keep you occupied.
- Joyrex, on 01/29/2008, -6/+14To all the people whining about this being a demo, it costs 40USD, etc.
DON'T BUY IT THEN - SIMPLE, EH? - WhereAmI, on 01/29/2008, -4/+12Bluetooth headset or proprietary headset that plugs into the remote control...
And they did ship a headset with Warhawk. Any Blue-tooth headset will work and even 1/8inch to USB adapters and a normal microphone works also. - Juntistik, on 01/29/2008, -3/+10I'm confused. How was it a Halo 3 beta that featured a full featured game? I recall it being a full featured game that happened to give you access to the Halo 3 beta. Way to twist the facts.
- distrbnce, on 01/29/2008, -1/+8Jesus christ, dude. Grow up.
- andydumi, on 01/29/2008, -1/+7This is the way its always been. Stop complaining. There have been prologues before, and always with stripped down features, just to give you something to play while you wait..
- distrbnce, on 01/29/2008, -2/+8It's a Prologue to GT5. (title says it all?)
- distrbnce, on 01/29/2008, -0/+5Yes.
TBA.
No announcement.
A firm grasp that it's optional.
It doesn't sound like you will. - Barnolde, on 01/29/2008, -1/+6It costs less than a year of Xbox Live... The Xbox fanboys whining about this have probably spent a bit of money paying for pictures on Xbox Live, as well as paying for unlock keys of content already on the disc.
It's "funny" seeing how all the PS3 topics get so few diggs, but so many comments from the PS3 hate brigade. - mywhitenoise, on 01/29/2008, -5/+10Your argument is flawed because Crackdown was neither $40 nor excellent.
- KingPsyz, on 01/29/2008, -0/+5sorry you had to be woken up to make that obigitory post
- distrbnce, on 01/29/2008, -5/+10Yeah! You can pay a discounted price if you jump through an obscene amount of hoops. That's almost as good as free!
- WhereAmI, on 01/29/2008, -2/+6Thats not just wishful thinking, its possible. Many of the PSN games let you download the demo and then you can purchase the "full" game and it finishes the full game off of the demo.
- ferrariman60, on 01/29/2008, -1/+5"Sounds like this Sony reaming us and trying to charge it's most loyal PS3 and GT fans $100 for this game."
Basically, you're right. But hey, for those who are willing to pay $40 now for a small portion and then $60/70 when the full game comes out, it's probably worth every penny. I think it seems sort of silly, but I'm also not a GT fan, so I'm not their target. But don't worry, they'll make some money off of this. Just not off of people who aren't going insane waiting. I'd probably be able to contain myself for that kind of value, though. - ghandi69, on 01/30/2008, -0/+4Its fun watching you defend 'your' console.
