- Braxford, on 03/17/2008, -9/+133Now if only they crashed --complete with broken glass, dented fenders, etc.. -- like they would in real life then i would be sold.

- mistahroth, on 03/17/2008, -1/+59It seems like everytime theres a new GT game.... I think its the most realistic thing I've ever seen in a video game.... then a few years later its like "psh thats rubbish"
- GeekyGerge, on 03/17/2008, -8/+63The reflections are all wrong.
- GIFF3, on 03/17/2008, -4/+56Just plain cool.
- SeaweedWater, on 03/17/2008, -5/+38Obligatory comment about the fairness of the Digg algorithm.
- Junkey, on 03/17/2008, -0/+29I hope the game has more colors then red.
- Civil44, on 03/17/2008, -5/+32I seriously didn't know that I was looking at a game for a few seconds....
- RevToTheRedline, on 03/17/2008, -1/+26That image is seriously a WTF moment, all the PS3's processing power, insane car detail, and trees no different than GT1 on PSone? That's a little pathetic.
- b5bar, on 03/17/2008, -4/+22Choice! This is one of the few games that has me thinking about getting a PS3.
- inactive, on 03/17/2008, -2/+20Try playing in something above 480i
- volacide, on 03/17/2008, -1/+17I dugg you up because that would definitely be amazing, but I'm also able to get over it when I consider how good they look when not banged up. I mean if you have to sacrifice IQ to the point of Forza 2 (or even PGR) just for damage I'll go with GT's method.
- bjs3171, on 03/17/2008, -0/+15uh...yes? do YOU own any video games that are indistinguishable from reality?
- mywhitenoise, on 03/17/2008, -17/+31Forza 2 is horse *****. And GT5: Prologue already has 1 million copies sold in pre-orders in Europe.
360 fanboys are ***** stupid. GT5 and Europe's PS3 fanbase will kill your little *****. - avonwodahs, on 03/17/2008, -0/+14I've heard from an insider source it will also have brown, but lets not get our hopes too high.
- Llanowar, on 03/17/2008, -2/+15Then again, cars are a lot easier to make look real than trees/monsters/people/etc.
- matchboxlord, on 03/17/2008, -1/+13Just because Forza 2 looks ***** in your 720P doesn't mean GT5 is going to look ***** as well, or maybe you just have a ***** 720p set. I am no fanboy and I love my xbox and PS3 all equally.
- mdaize, on 03/17/2008, -1/+13it is, you can see the hud overlaying the car :P
- krymise, on 03/17/2008, -1/+12You must have had the damage only on cosmetic, because if you had simulation on and hit the wall you can break the car to the point of no return.
- Spuy767, on 03/17/2008, -1/+12Are you ***** stoned? After GT2 it was underwhelming? A-Spec? GT4? Those games were astonishing.
- maley, on 03/17/2008, -0/+11Just a FYI, the full version has been promised to have damage. While I can't remember, I'm pretty sure they've never promised to add damage in until now.
- SpoBo, on 03/17/2008, -2/+13They didn't do damage up until now for 2 reasons. Companies don't like their cars getting destroyed ... and more importantly ... older consoles can't really handle it very accurately. Companies are begging now to get their brand included (well .. it's practically free advertisement to the people that will be buying cars and are in fact addicted to them). The people developing GT5 have confirmed that there will be damage in GT5. Perhaps not initially but most definitely though an upgrade. Also, every car already has each part individually modeled to allow crashes in the future. It's not just a game they are making but a platform. And this starts making sense when you know that car companies are approaching polyphony digital to model their cars in the game (along with the physics) so they can experience what they are like to drive. And that's not a joke but reality :) So I expect a LOT of experimental cars to be included in GT5 :D
It's not just a game anymore to Sony it's more of a vision they have. So they are injecting the company with a TON of cash. All they are doing with the Prologue is allowing gamers to influence the development. They could do a huge open beta .... but then you would get feedback from a bunch of 10 year olds saying the cars handle like *****. They want feedback from real enthusiasts .. people fan enough to pony up 40$ for an extended demo. Just compare it with Crackdown .. k? It had a Halo 3 beta for a couple of weeks. Nobody cared about Crackdown ... they all cared about Halo 3. (Turns out Crackdown was fun to play ... but we didn't know that up front).
I hope people will understand now that a prologue game is not a demo. It's a way to get feedback from people who care... and coincidently getting some money back to invest in further development. So you are actually helping PD make a better game by buying GT5 prologue :) And yes ... you might have guessed so .. I will be buying it :D - mywhitenoise, on 03/17/2008, -1/+12"copies sold equals quality? you know you're right kane and lynch is the best game EVAR!"
I wasn't aware that Kane and Lynch is the highest selling game "EVAR". - blackdogs377, on 03/17/2008, -1/+12MIRROR
http://i30.tinypic.com/4rupv6.jpg - elfprince13, on 03/17/2008, -0/+10look at the reflections on the car.
- krische, on 03/17/2008, -1/+11I think they take into account the rate of diggs, not just the number of diggs. So who knows, maybe it could have just gotten those 26 diggs rather quickly.
- okaroleo, on 03/17/2008, -0/+10this is the only game that would make me buy ps3.... and of course now i will. :(
- Dracusis, on 03/17/2008, -0/+10A demo with 7 tracks, 70 cars and 16 player online mode.
That's either the biggest demo in the history of computer gaming or you're just a moron.
p.s. I'm leaning towards the latter. - corejava2, on 03/17/2008, -0/+10i think the reason why people want damage in the game is because GT IS the ultimate driving sim. And not just for the cosmetic effects of wrecking your car, but all of the nuances that happens when you've got a busted wheel or a broken door; the additional drag... all that other stuff that can come with damage to a vehicle would open up an endless amount of realism to the game that i think all GT fans are looking for.
- nublet, on 03/17/2008, -1/+11this "demo" has more content than some so called full games.
- DawsonJones, on 03/17/2008, -6/+15Wow! If their wasn't writing on the game shot I couldn't tell the difference.
- logicalnoise, on 03/17/2008, -2/+11you were playing arcade mode sim mode allows for realistic damage though teh cars never get totaled they alwasys will still work just at 1% of what they should be.
- slaystench, on 03/17/2008, -0/+9Environments are always the last thing they work on. Well, since the first GT anyway...
- masterm1nd, on 03/17/2008, -3/+12If you say it wasn't much better than forza, then I assume the answer is no?
- Jaliyl, on 03/17/2008, -1/+9That's what they call realism, it's not fun or easy to pick up, but holy crap is it accurate!
- SSCrow, on 03/17/2008, -2/+10I've always felt the same way about that.
GT is like the only game still using Sprites in that way. - b3and1p, on 03/17/2008, -3/+11Its true. Maybe because I do it for a living, but the left shots are obviously not real. They have a while to go until you can't tell.
- solidus636, on 03/17/2008, -3/+10Take the test and see if you can spot which is the real one...
http://generationdreamteam.free.fr/Quizz.html
It's hard to test yourself on these because of the in game menus and stuff... - masterm1nd, on 03/17/2008, -4/+11Is there a graphically superior racing game?
- kinseyincanada, on 03/17/2008, -0/+7I was never a fan of racing sims, i missed the fast based action and fun of arcade style racers, but no one can argue that this game looks amazing.
- inactive, on 03/17/2008, -6/+13When I played Forza 2(I only played for a hour, so I could be wrong), the damage didn't have any effect on how the car performed. I'd rather them have damage that actually affects racing then just have it on the car.
- krische, on 03/17/2008, -2/+9I believe DIRT had that. When I'd play the demo, if I wrecked the car, it would start becoming hard to to steer and such.
- krische, on 03/17/2008, -0/+7Looks like someone hasn't even played the demo.
- sat0shi, on 03/17/2008, -0/+6I think it's hilarious how many people are ***** their pants to try and deny that these screenshots are in-game. If you have to justify your console purchase by bashing on another one for no reason, perhaps you are just sad that you bought the wrong console. Hell, I'll be the first to admit that I'm extremely disappointed with my Wii... So, I bought a PS3 this week and I love it. It's great, and it's everything I want in a game system.
So, come on guys. Man up and admit that you're not satisfied with your current system and go buy a PS3. :) - GliTCH82, on 03/18/2008, -0/+6Uh, I call *****.
- krische, on 03/17/2008, -0/+6lol, this is actually how cars really handle. Its not like what your used to in games like Need for Speed and whatever. In real life, cars aren't as easy to drive like that. Hence there's a profession for stunt drivers.
- Greenhippo33, on 03/18/2008, -1/+7Thanks
- greenlight2001, on 03/17/2008, -1/+7Other than the lack of reflections in the game shots.
