- orion846, on 04/16/2009, -0/+82stop complaining about turn-based. THATS FINAL FANTASY. are you going to try to talk the next zelda out of dressing link in green and using magic? if you don't like the game genre, don't play it. don't keep bitching until you get so loud you ruin it for those of us that've been in love with FF for decades now
- Aphallatosis, on 04/16/2009, -2/+59I hope Chocofro isn't slipping on banana peels throughout the entire game.

Wait... I'm going to buy this game anyway. Why am I watching this? - JaysonthePirate, on 04/16/2009, -6/+37lol at the silly black man.
- atomicpoet, on 04/15/2009, -2/+33/me mouth drops
- Feep, on 04/16/2009, -1/+24No. No it ***** doesn't. Get over it.
- Elranzer, on 04/16/2009, -0/+22Yep. Just with different heroes, a different villain, different skill/magic system, different music and a different plot.
There will Chocobos, Bahamut, Odin and a guy named Cid though (but Cid will look different, and may not be playable).
But yeah... remake of FF7... - Greengoo, on 04/15/2009, -2/+24I have high hopes for this.
- Greengoo, on 04/16/2009, -3/+23Just let me say there's a reason they're not re-using FFXII's system.
- noangelcame, on 04/16/2009, -0/+19wtf,. don't forget FF3/6.

- theoneandonly06, on 04/16/2009, -0/+13it was horrid, IMO. Although it was kind of nice to see a change of pace in the game, it really wasn't the change of pace most of us had in mind. I like what I'm seeing in this upcoming game.
- Greengoo, on 04/15/2009, -0/+13Try watching parts 2 and 3....

Part 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-YUauFz6I9A - chaosblade77, on 04/15/2009, -2/+15For an old build the demo is pretty impressive. I wish we could have seen the full battle system in action, since the point of the demo was to show it off. Quality of the video is bleh, but still way better than anything else so far.
Oh, and the music is awesome. - xXSheepyXx, on 04/16/2009, -3/+16I SAW
- yuutokun, on 04/16/2009, -2/+14I CONQUERED
- SaladCactusKing, on 04/16/2009, -0/+12Chris Columbus Fantasy VII
When a time warp takes Mrs. Doubtfire director Chris Columbus back to 1492, he must team up with his America-travelling namesake in an adventure that takes him across oceans, time, and space. To gather the magic crystals and defeat the evil wizard Anus Bob, The two Chris Columbus' will battle with swords, magic, and wit. Turn Based Combat. Featuring Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria airships and some guy named Cid somewhere. - inactive, on 04/16/2009, -3/+14I've heard the Xbox 360 port will commence after the initial PS3 launch, is this correct?
- gridbread, on 04/16/2009, -2/+13I really like the music.
- ironrex, on 04/16/2009, -2/+13five stars. ATB is what FF is all about, its how battles are done. I've loved it for YEARS. The only things that needs to change in each FF title are the characters, the world, the reason magic exists, the graphics, and the story. That is how it has always been, and hopefully that's how it always will be.
- AirRaven, on 04/16/2009, -5/+15Have you actually *played* FF1 and FF2?
They're ***** atrocious. FF4/6 are where it's at pre-VII-wise. - doctorbasic, on 04/16/2009, -0/+10Sad?
I say, if it isn't broke, don't fix it. - Mindbogglers, on 04/16/2009, -2/+12Its coming to Japan for PS3 this winter, then they will work on translation for PS3 and porting for 360. So it probably wont be out in EU/US until mid-late 2010.
But i dont think anyone knows if the PS3 and 360 version are coming at the same time. - Elranzer, on 04/16/2009, -1/+11Japan is getting no 360 version, or at least isn't planned to.
The US and Europe are getting PS3 and 360 on the same launch day. - avianeddy, on 04/16/2009, -1/+11will the FANTASY ever be FINAL?
(i hope not) - ironrex, on 04/16/2009, -0/+9The problem is Square Enix's priorities are all screwed up. They focus tons of resources on stupid nintendo DS ports because DS is so huge amongst 7-15 year olds. Then they spend more on coat-tail riding side games (ff 13 versus). I'm sure they spend way too much time updating their epic failure FF 11 also.
My opinion is they're spending so much time because they really want a killer game. They want it to be similar to the impact of FF 7. If I recall correctly, there was a big span between FF6 and FF7, and the game was absolutely mind blowing in scope compared to its predecessors. My hope is that is the kind of scope increase they're working on for FF 13. - skoda, on 04/15/2009, -1/+10EPIC.
- DforSpiD, on 04/16/2009, -1/+109... how the ***** was 9 not back to its roots?
- Jektal, on 04/16/2009, -1/+9It sucked?
At least I personally disliked it. I know others did as well. - streetrunner, on 04/16/2009, -1/+9Um. I had to turn this off. FF12 pulled me for 150 hours. I CANNOT believe how good this game looks. FF is my enslaver.
- Arkanok, on 04/16/2009, -2/+10Yawn.. The game looks amazing graphically, but I don't like the direction that jrpgs are going these days. What happened to the element of exploration, you know, having a massive wide open world to walk around like there was in FFVII? Since FFX, the worlds have been so linear that it completely takes away one of the elements that I loved about these RPGs. I also really dislike how you see the enemies on screen prior to getting into a battle, I liked the old days of random. And lastly, why the hell would I want the rest of my party members to be controlled by AI? I mean, I don't have very much faith in what actions they would take.
Bottom line, I hated FFXII because of the direction it took, and this game looks like it's going in a similar direction with the exception of the battles not acting like Zelda with a command menu. I'll still play this though. - KrustyTClown, on 04/16/2009, -3/+11No, I was just joking. But I am curious however. This was planned for the PS3 for a long time right? PS3's top exclusives would not fit on a DVD. I'm talking MGS4, Killzone 2, Uncharted, maybe LBP.
So is the new final fantasy going to be small enough to fit on a DVD, will it be compressed to fit, will it be multi disc?
Because if the 360 version and PS3 version will be Identical and if the PS3 version does not take full advantage of the blu-ray disk's capacity, then I will have to consider this game dumbed down. Digg me down, but it makes sense to me. - finalcloud33, on 04/16/2009, -0/+8And I Jizzed in my pants
- Wrangler76, on 04/16/2009, -0/+7Didn't Chrono Trigger have enemies that you could see prior to battle? It was one of the best JRPGs of all time.
- ZOMGitsRadimus, on 04/16/2009, -3/+10PS3 Owner here, but not biased in the console war.
Xbox360 can look just as good as the PS3 on any game. Infact, the 360 has had some games that the PS3 has that have looked superior on the 360. - punkcat, on 04/16/2009, -0/+7coming at same time in US last i heard,
japan as stated above is getting a PS3 launch sooner. - CrimsonBlur, on 04/16/2009, -4/+11Why would that be a good thing?
- orion846, on 04/16/2009, -1/+8did you register just to say that or something?
- phbohn2, on 04/16/2009, -0/+6It's a good point, but since FFVIII and IX were released on 4 CDs I wouldn't discount them doing something similar again here.
- humptyz, on 04/16/2009, -0/+6Are we only going to have one Final Fantasy this console generation? Square has been able to pump out 3 in the past. I guess games are getting so damned expensive to make it takes longer. That or developing for two platforms is holding it up.
- theoneandonly06, on 04/16/2009, -0/+6it's always incredible :)
- levitron, on 04/16/2009, -0/+6Veni.
- RolltheStampede, on 04/16/2009, -1/+7dont forget Biggs and Wedge
- humptyz, on 04/16/2009, -0/+5Have to disagree with you on XII. I LOVED the tactical element being able to see your enemies brought along with using the terrain to your advantage. Lots of time I would have a character shoot an arrow at an enemy, get it to come charge me, and then have my two other brutes bash it to death while it was aiming for the initial archer. Or if you're getting your ass handed to you by some boss, just run out of its attack range, regroup, and come back.
I ended up putting in over 200 hours playing XII. - inactive, on 04/16/2009, -6/+11sorry to tell you, but the Xbox has a better GPU setup, and the Cell is a gimmick. Still waiting on all that super secret Cell power to be unleashed aren't ya pal? Any day now huh?
The GPU in a console/PC is by far the most important aspect of game performance. The slowest dual core CPU you could find will still run the latest greatest games smoothly assuming you have a good GPU. I promise you that theres not a single PS3 game thats out, or coming out for the PS3 that couldn't be done just as well if the PS3 had a 3 core cpu instead of the cell.
I'm not trying to knock the ps3 here, its a good system with some good exclusives, and the blu-ray drive is a definite plus.
but the only REAL advantage the ps3 has is that blu-ray drive. there is no real world performance advantage, bury me if you want, but its the truth. -
