- mywhitenoise, on 10/11/2007, -2/+62a month of hookers and heroin only costs you $600? Either you're getting a really great deal, or you're shooting up kitchen cleaners, and ***** dogs.
- Sparke, on 10/11/2007, -10/+49Hot damn these games look amazing!
- mrfreeziexp, on 10/11/2007, -11/+43If they lower the price this summer to something reasonable, and these games are released soon, I will be picking up a PS3. Maybe Sony will finally catch on to what the consumer wants.
- damndj, on 10/11/2007, -6/+37It may only be $3 a month, but the PS3 is still FREE.
- PhantomRogue, on 10/11/2007, -17/+48Id trust Sony with my Interests before id trust Microsoft.
- GawtMilk, on 10/11/2007, -3/+33Hookers and heroin? Seems $600 is the least of your worries. SEEK HELP, SIR.
- naden, on 10/11/2007, -9/+38@carpespasm
Wake up and smell the coffee you nieve ignoramus. All companies exist to extract money from you and I can guarentee that Apple/Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo don't know or care about you personally. Some just are more clever about how they get it.
However Iroy is right to point out that all the XBox360 Fanboiiii's ripping into Sony about not caring about consumers are just hypocrites. If Microsoft truly cared about their consumers they would have allowed users to upgrade their own hard disks instead of charging you ridiculous amounts. - sugarhigh4242, on 10/11/2007, -6/+35I was blown away by the stuff they showed. I'm getting a lot of use out of my PS3 now, but I can definitely see why people would say its lineup isn't ready yet. By the end of the year, there will be no doubt.
I like the Xbox360 also, but i haven't bought one yet because I refuse to pay a subscription for online gaming. I've never had to do it on PC, and i'm not going to do it on console.
Between this batch of PS3 games, and 360's fall lineup, its hard to imagine what 2008 will hold.
BTW, if you're checking out Sony's Gamer's Day, don't overlook the PSP stuff. There are about 10 seriously awesome games for that system later this year. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+26Little Big Planet is probably going to be the system seller for me. Garry's Mod + Platforming + Animal Crossing art style? sign me up!
- robuk24, on 10/11/2007, -3/+26I don't own a PS3 but these games are making a purchase very very tempting! I just can't afford one, they are £425 ($839) in the UK!!!! Drop the price to sub £350, release warhawk, ratchet and lair then im all yours Sony!
- iRoy, on 10/11/2007, -13/+35Talk ***** about Sony all you want, it is irrelevant, one either owns a 360 or a PS3 and that's that.
These announcements have shown that Sony still has it and that they still care about their customers. I am really excited about just about all of these games, just got done signing up for the Warhawk beta and I can't wait to see how that game plays.
There is so much variety here. Sony has a game of every type imaginable coming out by the end of this year.
I can't wait to sell my soul in order to buy all of 'em. - Dan11023, on 10/11/2007, -46/+67And the ps3 revolution has begin! Watch out Microsoft!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CHOP CHOP!
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -6/+25Personally, I'm seriously thinking of getting a PS3 now. There seems to be alot of good games coming out for it this winter.
- mistahroth, on 10/11/2007, -4/+20QUOTE"sony seriously doesn't care about their customers, they care about separating their customers from as much money as they can get away with. all big companies are like that. sony doesn't have your best interest at heart."
Sure that makes sense... thats why Sony is selling the PS3 at a huge loss, offering its PSN and Home for free.
And thats why Microsoft microcharges the ***** out of everything, and costs $70 a year for its online services. - staffrocket, on 10/11/2007, -6/+22and has a browser :)
- N1NJ4hippie, on 10/11/2007, -2/+16@modeloxpto
People are allowed to change their minds. You sir are just a 360 fanboy.
from modeloxpto
"do you already own an xbox 360? because if you do just watch really careful what you're proposing: Because the PS3 now seems to have a slightly better collection of upcoming games this year you're thinking about buying another console.
You already paid 400$ for the 360 and a couple more for your games. The 360 has tons of great games coming out this year that are terrific (you know them, there's no need to write the list down). Sure the PS3 games will end up looking slightly better than 360's, but I can't believe that people are that gullible to choose a system based on such a discreet difference. And finally if you do have 600$ burning in your pocket and are yearning for some gaming why don't you just spend them on the system you already paid for, with that much money you could buy ten gold titles that you definitely won't have time to enjoy to the fullest anyway."
"Now, I love gaming as much as the next guy but please get a grip on reality and just make a choice and stick with it!" - WickedDrag0oN, on 10/11/2007, -5/+18FortuneFaded,
You fail to realize Microsoft made Windows Vista DRM Heaven. They willingly allied themselves with both the MPAA and RIAA. So what were you trying to get at?
Get over it, MS and Sony are money grubbing corporations. MS has just gotten away with a lot more by not getting caught. - Eccohawk, on 10/11/2007, -7/+19@naden
That's a completely baseless statement. Any OS can have a rootkit created for it...That's the same as blaming your ISP because it ''allowed" you to download music or movies illegally. Your reasoning has failed you, sir. Sony's at fault on that one, not MS. - damndj, on 10/11/2007, -11/+22Nice to see the non Sony crowd getting dugg down in here for a change. Just a few months ago, any mention of a favorable comment towards Sony got you dugg way down.
Anyway, some of these games look great! After the summer arrives, it'll be nothing but net for the PS3. - acurism, on 10/11/2007, -2/+12I believe they are holding out on Killzone 2 until July when E3 starts, at least that is what I have heard.
- gardnmi, on 10/11/2007, -11/+21Yeah God of....I mean Heavenly Sword looks pretty sweet.
- Dibbz, on 10/11/2007, -19/+29Uncharted Drakes Fortune has to be one of the best games comming out this year.
Sony is on a role. With this kind of quality for games, looks like they're set to take the gaming scene back. - acurism, on 10/11/2007, -7/+16Games look amazing! This is the primary reason the PS2 was so dominant and I am sure the PS3 will do the same. Everybody keeps saying "Where are the games"?
Well, this looks like a taste of what is to come, and the system hasn't even been out a year yet! - jacksons98, on 10/11/2007, -5/+14@modeloxpto Sony has been quick to make updates based on customer feedback. Almost every Thursday there is some new content or some new feature they add to their network. The differences between Live and PSN (playstation network) aren't as big as they used to be.
- chocobomog, on 10/11/2007, -7/+16@Eccohawk
Ugh, can't believe we are getting into OS wars in the game section, oh well.
If you are going to blame Sony for root kits, then Microsoft deserve just as much flaming if not more. They are the ones who created a shoddy OS which is vulnerable to rootkits, spyware, adware, viruses, memory buffer overruns, etc. Sure you could potentially create those for any OS, but all of the other companies secured their OS's so that they couldn't be installed. You don't hear about any widespread rootkit problems on OSX or Linux, because the designers don't allow 3rd party programs access to ring 0 memory. Microsoft created these problems and they deserve to be called out on them. A better analogy is that Microsoft built a fancy house but forgot to install locks on the doors or Windows. So you would definitely blame them when a thief easily breaks in and steals your stuff. - samdu, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Actually, it is accurate as Killzone 2 wasn't shown at GD. Sony's said that we won't see anything new about KZ2 until E3.
- turbopro, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9Socom heads have been waiting for Confrontation for a while now. It looks badass. Was that crossroads from socom 2 in the video?
- McTendo, on 10/11/2007, -4/+10You're a proud participant of my blocklist. Bitch got blocked
- jacksons98, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6@frepnog It must be true, FREPNOG has declared it so. I didn't realize you could foretell the future. Little Big Planet won't sell because it's not the right demographic?? I guess you haven't noticed but everyone is saying this game is super fun. I guess by your wisdom people aren't interested in "fun" games.
- CaliConnected, on 10/11/2007, -3/+9I haven't bought a good PS3 game in months (I highly regret F.E.A.R.), but I might have to sell my girlfriend to those guys at the corner by Xmas for some funds. These games are awesome
- swgc5, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Socom: Confrontation - Will sell like hotcakes
- swgc5, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Yes, it was Crossroads. Me want PS3!
- Lumiras, on 10/11/2007, -13/+18LittleBigPlanet is seriously making me consider getting a PS3...but only if they drop it to $400
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6The fact that LBP is made by the people who made Rag Doll Kung Fu has the opposite effect on me. That game had an interesting concept, however it didnt't translate well into a full game.
- artofwar420, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Yes, 100 bucks less.... $499... yes... I'll get one!
- iRoy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Like I said, the bottom line is that Sony has something coming out for EVERYBODY, not just all shooters and shoddy PC ports either.
I chose Sony this gen. over Microsoft because they give me FREEDOM. I can buy a 120GB SATA drive whenever I want at a VERY nice price. I also have 4 USB ports, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi which is the best part of it because my room is 2 entire floors away from my router.
Sony made a great console and I am having a whole lot of fun with it right now. Gaming is about fun, not arguing about root kits, If your preference is Microsoft's box then whatever, maybe you WANT to throw away money on more online fees and unnecessary micro transactions. - Dan11023, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3well, i dont have to deal with any credit card crap! just hook it up to the internet and its good 2 go...... FOR FREE
- ucdbunny, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3worst analogy EVER
- tommybear, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Yes they force you to take a survey by asking you "Would you like to participate in a customer survey?". There is a bug button to the right which is "Yes" and another the left marked "No". It's a puzzle... try to solve it.
- fantasticFlan, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5@Eccohawk
It's easy to make jokes, but that lawsuit was really about McDonald's making their coffee too hat and not labeling it. It was a consumer protection suit, not a gimme money suit. - DarkJC, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I keep hearing everyone saying MGS4 isn't coming out until next year but despite that stupid EBGames/Gamestop rumor I've yet to see any actual story from a reputable source say anything about a delay. Did I miss it?
People can't be taking this EBGames stuff seriously, considering their release dates are pretty much pick a date on the calendar. - Dan11023, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2ok, but home is also gonna come out... and prob resistance add ons. but hey, theres also a ton of games thats gonna come out on both 360 and ps3. I dont think the ps3 is gonna be in trouble when 08 arrives.
- gikeymarcia, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2hasn't that been the nintendo gameplan since the N64?
- sipsyrup, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2@mywhitenoise,
well, to be fair... if you're high on kitchen cleaner you probably wouldn't care if you were ***** dogs... - iRoy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2@frepnog
Wow. Your information is about as useful as male nipples. - gikeymarcia, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2The difference is that people were PLAYING these games. You're just an idiot.
- staffrocket, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2croquet?
- OptionalPirate, on 06/24/2008, -0/+1So I'm not allowed to buy a 360 AND a PS3, Iroy? *****, I guess I won't get a PS3 and MGS4 then. :(
- Kxpuc, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3what ever happen to the days when people called microsoft M$ and did nothing but complain about Windows. To almost everyone complaining on Sony and calling them $ony. Seems people have seperated Microsoft the OS maker and Microsoft the Console maker. Is this a cycle is Nitendo next up on the Hate-O-Wheel? MS gets crap for a decade, Sony gets their decade and Nitendo gets there's next. (starts writing a movie script called 2016: The Fall of Mario)
- projjalc, on 10/11/2007, -3/+4And about damn time it made an appearance.
