- dekuscrub, on 07/15/2008, -1/+61With all the fighting/fanboy *****, it's easy to forget that we're all benefiting GREATLY from the PS3/Xbox360 rivalry. This competition is getting better every day, and it's showing. Do you think Xbox Live would be as good as it is without competition? And PSN Home?
This is a great time to be a gamer!!!!! - BinaryDelt, on 07/15/2008, -7/+67"Ha ha ha...just kidding about that whole Final Fantasy XIII thing! You should've seen your faces! Anywho, Playstation Home is done, and every SKU is now magically fully backwards compatible!!!"
*Crosses fingers* - TangentThought, on 07/15/2008, -7/+57Order of awesome for E3 this year:
1. Microsoft.
2. Sony.
3. Nintendo.
I was extremely disappointed with Nintendo. I expected a lot more than add-ons and number crunching. - iamtad, on 07/15/2008, -3/+46The big loser this year was E3.
- getmeawhopper, on 07/15/2008, -1/+4210 million Zimbabwean dollars!!
- streetstealth, on 07/15/2008, -1/+38Honestly, you could probably bet more than that.
- acevoncash, on 07/15/2008, -11/+4610 bucks says home isn't done yet.
- deaftly, on 07/15/2008, -14/+42MS won E3
- FredFredrickson, on 07/15/2008, -0/+26It's a recession.
- Canadianinjapan, on 07/15/2008, -2/+22because some of us are at work and can't watch video
- mywhitenoise, on 07/15/2008, -1/+20Sonys wasn't bad, it just wasn't exciting. Everything they announced was known, or anticipated. Nintendo on the other hand, what a ***** joke.
Of course you're going to try and spin it your way. In your reality the media thinks Sony bombed E3...when no one is suggesting that. - MasterPlayer, on 07/15/2008, -2/+21This may have been the worst E3 ever...
- mywhitenoise, on 07/15/2008, -2/+21it's the 40GB with an 80GB drive. Nothing special.
- LoudMusic, on 07/15/2008, -2/+20I think it's really cool that games are still being produced for the PS2. That, theoretically, shows that if you invest in Sony hardware you'll get more life out of it.
I wonder if they reduce licensing fees to the game developers as incentive to keep making games for the platform. - Canadianinjapan, on 07/15/2008, -10/+26Nothing in the way of RPGs.... I guess that means the 360 is still the way to go for jrpgs??!?
- MRintheKeys, on 07/15/2008, -4/+20Great all I need now are 255 other jerk offs team killing and running around calling each other fags and *****.
- pgrit154, on 07/15/2008, -1/+15Thanks for pointing out the obvious.
- krische, on 07/15/2008, -1/+14Why not? Does netflix have a loyalty to Microsoft or something?
- KMartSheriff, on 07/15/2008, -2/+14This is true. Doesn't really matter if you lean more towards the PS3 camp or the 360 camp, it's good to be a consumer right now.
But I mean the Wii camp guys can enjoy that "extra" motion controller or whatever it's called, right? That's....cool....right? - alightut, on 07/15/2008, -3/+15Netfix aint gonna happer.
- 3sicasity, on 07/15/2008, -3/+14heck yes, resistance for psp . the ps3 one looked cool too.
- WhereAmI, on 07/15/2008, -12/+23If Halo 4 came to the PS3 you know what? I still wouldn't ***** care. Its a ***** game (well Halo 3 and 3, 1 was fine by me) and will continue to be.
- rodted2, on 07/15/2008, -0/+10did anyone see nintendo make fools of themselves?
http://www.gametrailers.com/player/36418.html - benman587, on 07/15/2008, -2/+12I'm at work and can't watch videos. It's nice to have something like this
- Shaggy3, on 07/15/2008, -1/+11Wait... Killzone 2 still hasn't been released?
- FurtiveApe, on 07/15/2008, -4/+14YEp, stated eysterday tis an exclusive console deal with xbox
- ut2k4king, on 07/15/2008, -1/+10Blu-ray*
LittleBigPlanet is coming out later this year, Final Fantasy XIII Versus will be out later on, and Killzone 2 looks like a promising shooter with fantastic visuals. So yes, it can play games. On top of that the Fallout 3 developers were lauding the Cell processor in an interview. - Cerebral, on 07/15/2008, -3/+12Are you telling me that you wouldn't ***** your pants if you got a frag of 100 people with a massive bomb or something? Or how about a huge 128 on 128 battle etc. That would be pretty awesome... like huge online WAR!
- FredFredrickson, on 07/15/2008, -0/+9It's not *complete*garbage, but expecting it to jump ship is idiotic, at best.
- superkendall, on 07/15/2008, -1/+10It's been outselling the 360 for a while now. Are you saying 360 sales are even more horrible?
Why not just say both are selling well instead of trying to dis Sony? - santasing, on 07/15/2008, -2/+11I don't play any other online games, but Warhawk servers are almost always pretty full.
- faizal5k, on 07/15/2008, -8/+16I'm impressed by Sony's E3 press conference. The mood in the auditorium was great. Great way to use LittleBigPlanet to show the business perspective. Though it wasn't as great as last year's, it was DEFINITELY better than the horrid E3 '06 conference form Sony. One disappointment though...the GoW3 teaser was TOO SHORT :(
- superkendall, on 07/15/2008, -2/+10256 can work when you have squads as they are planning. For the same reason the military does not have teams of 256 soldiers either.
- mywhitenoise, on 07/15/2008, -1/+9end of the month.
- santasing, on 07/15/2008, -5/+13Ummm, Home is slated for a Fall launch. So, yea, its not done yet.
- INTERNETMASTER, on 07/15/2008, -3/+10this better be good
- lotar732, on 07/15/2008, -3/+10I'm fairly certain the head honchos of Nintendo are too busy swimming in their Scrooge McDuck sized money bins to care about coming out with new inventive stuff. They already sold more units then they could have dreamed possible. What you have to remember are that Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo don't care what the coolest gadget is, or what you ultimately want to see. Their only goal is to get new people to buy their systems, once you buy the system, you become a secondary concern.
With this in mind, of course Nintendo is going to gloat about how they've dominated the industry through expanding the video game market to families and old people. The hard core gamers are elitist jerks (sorry WoW) that they could care less about. - chocobomog, on 07/15/2008, -3/+10Maybe a more authentic "war" fee with a variety of battles/vehicles/weapons, etc? When you only have 16 players the battles seem pretty self-contained, but 256 players could recreate the chaos of war. Regardless, we need to see more of the game before we can "praise" it for 256 players, it is still a ways off.
- FredFredrickson, on 07/15/2008, -5/+12Fall 2009?
- mattyice11, on 07/15/2008, -2/+8When you consider how fast they have to type in order to get everything in they do a great job.
- Amorn, on 07/15/2008, -1/+7I said this year. Any of that confirmed for 2008?
- SkippyDoorknob, on 07/15/2008, -0/+6Next year
- MRintheKeys, on 07/15/2008, -5/+11The original Resistance was ho-hum. It was a good first person shooting but I wouldn't really say it revolutionized anything.
- sgtpppr, on 07/15/2008, -0/+5Exactly. That's why I'm always kind of boggled when people actually wish the competing system would go out of business. The tougher the competition, the better the hardware and games. If any of the big three systems were to fold, it would simply hurt the whole console gaming industry. If two of them were to fold, it'd turn into a console gaming dark age where innovation would be totally dead.
- mywhitenoise, on 07/15/2008, -9/+14What the hell is it with people wanting Halo? That game is absolute garbage.
- mywhitenoise, on 07/15/2008, -1/+6cerebral, and what exactly did Microsoft announce that wasnt already known? Besides FFXIII of course, they definitely stole the show with that one.
- diggB, on 07/15/2008, -0/+5Both the PS3 and the Xbox 360 have made incredible improvements (both as a gaming systems and a multi-media home center) since their introduction. Gotta love it when the system you bought just keep on getting better and better ...
- OpNash, on 07/15/2008, -1/+6I like the competition too, it guarantees good games.
- deaftly, on 07/15/2008, -2/+7MS owns the Halo name.
- billjimbob, on 07/15/2008, -1/+6FF13 in 2008? Hahahahahahahhahhahah... more like 2010.
