- Nobi-Wan, on 10/10/2007, -7/+19I played this at Comic Con and wasn't impressed by the gameplay at all. It seems...I don't know, rushed and the SIXAXIS control seems tacked-on. The graphics are amazing, sure, but everything else is just weak and will probably get old after the first day. It's just worth a rental at best.
I played Folklore too, and the game seems really cool. Think "Harry Potter" meets Tim Burton mixed in with a bit of Fable. The graphics are awesome and how you rip an enemy's soul out in order to steal his power is pretty cool using the SIXAXIS. It doesn't work all the time, though, and the camera is pretty crappy. I'm sure they'll work out the kinks though.
Heavenly Sword is freaking AMAZING. I own a 360 but it seriously tempts me to get a PS3... after the price comes down considerably. If only the damned console wasn't so damned expensive I'd be all over it. The graphics seem kind of awkward in parts and sometimes when you get hit you're like "WTF? How'd that happen??" In my opinion the cutscenes and the really cool "God of War" style button actions are what will make the game.
I'd talk about Timeshift and F.E.A.R. 2, but we're talking about the PS3 here. - jacksons98, on 10/10/2007, -5/+16Did some research and it is being called a RUMOR: http://www.n4g.com/News-55326.aspx Supposedly the poster is also saying EGM gave Blue Dragon: 6.5, 7.5, 6.5.
- olddirtycr, on 10/10/2007, -6/+17september EGM isn't out its just a rumor as of now
- Hoinah, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8As someone who justified buying a PS3 yesterday because of this (among others), I would be mightily peeved if it sucked.
- rcomegys, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9Would be easier to decide if it were true had the submitter linked to the ACTUAL REVIEW instead of a crappy-ass blog that doesn't even LINK to the original story.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Fanboy of what? He didn't even say anything pro-somethingelse
Or is every criticism towards the PS3 an act of fanboyism? - roxya, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6As long as I get to play a demo before deciding, I don't give a ***** what any magazine thinks of it. I'll make my own mind up (if we do get a demo....)
- readme, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8Wow, let's all make submissions for every single bad game review!
http://digg.com/xbox_360/EGM_Reviews_BLUE_DRAGON_andh_Ouch - CReyes4182, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8This would suck if its true. But then again this would be good on my pockets since I'm planning on buying 4-5 games in August and September :p
- jacksons98, on 10/10/2007, -4/+8Is there a link out there to the actual review? Or any scans? I really find it hard to believe that Factor 5 would deliver a game with scores like this. In the past they've always been a great developer and Lair technically has many things that haven't been done before in a game. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that this might be fake.
- rcomegys, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4This website was created on July 26, 2007. 3 days ago. It's got a slick-enough design to make it look believable, but it's got no integrity or reputation yet. I call bogus.
- PhoenixAvatar2, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4They're not the source though, the source is a forum post that listed Blue Dragon as having similar ratings. It could be true, but maybe not.
- knodi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3thats play mag.
- NeoTechni, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6You mean is there proof? No.
- loganhid, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Right this is a ***** blog - lets lay of these rumours
- slasherx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I bet you like floppy things eh?
- knodi, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6Confirmed:
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=175237 - Nobi-Wan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I played the game myself. In all honesty it's pretty accurate.
But then again that's just my opinion. I say rent the game and make your own opinion instead of betting $60. Save the cash for Heavenly Sword or Folklore if you have a PS3. - WhereAmI, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4yeah everyone loves and trusts SDF here on Digg...although everyone will assume what you just did.
- Nobi-Wan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2No, it won't.
I don't own a PS3 and love my 360, but even I can tell you that Heavenly Sword is going to kick ass. Even if it has a crap story the gameplay is what's going to make it fun. - mashw, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Well, EGM is obviously an acronym (for a magazine) and Lair is going to a noun in this case so the title of something; a game seeing as this is the gaming section of Digg and the ellipses are to indicate a short pause between the words. Level 3 common sense is needed that's all.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Wow, nothing says fanboy like a fake article posted as fact. It's even sadder that the SDF author that submitted this article just pulled some nonsense from Neogaf and is propping it up as the truth. We'll see when the game actually drops.
- Nysul, on 10/10/2007, -4/+5I hope this isn't true, I was looking forward to this game.
- CReyes4182, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The ps3 was not rushed and the controllers dont disconnect while your playing.. ever. The only time it disconnects is when you put a ps2 game in it. You have to hit the ps button when the ps2 game starts and when you go back to the XMB. Some people had the control disconnect and couldn't comprehend that it was supposed to do that.
- SonicBoom1000, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3It's funny how a PS3 game flopping makes front page, but an Xbox 360 game flopping doesn't... I'd say both were hyped pretty equally as well.
- Nobi-Wan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Have you played the demo for Blue Dragon? In my opinion the remake for Final Fantasy 3 on the DS plays better than that game.
- logicalnoise, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2agreed play mag has never been relevant as far as reviews.
- kibbels, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1actually it is true, just got the issue in the mail today and the scores are 6.0, 5.5 and 5.0
- louiedog, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Why wouldn't you wait until the game you wanted was actually available if that was an important factor in your decision? It's not like the PS3 is in short supply and you had to pick it up because you were in a store that happened to have one.
I remember people upgrading their computers for HL2 before it was delayed for a long time and then acting very pissed. Computer hardware gets cheaper, why not wait for a Gold announcement before upgrading? - slaystench, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1It's gaf... That's all the confirmation you need.
- enicholas, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2I've got a PS3 and an XBox 360, and as a married adult with two small children and therefore insufficient time to go read about every upcoming game, I strongly disagree. I've seen dozens of mentions of Lair in the press, and this Digg post is the first time I've even heard of Blue Dragon.
I'm sure this is a "welcome to the Internet" kind of admission on my part, but Blue Dragon doesn't appear to have received nearly the same hype. - kroenecker, on 10/10/2007, -3/+3I've played the demo of Heavenly Sword. If you liked G.O.W, then chances are you are really going to like Heavenly Sword. It's a great game.
- SonicBoom1000, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1I'd say Blue Dragon flopped just as hard as Lair.
- p80i, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0you just cant say its true .. prove it with an image or something.
- shinythingy, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2How is that a confirmation? You link to a forum post with nothing other than text, no scans or pictures yet you say its confimed? I really want to hear this explanation.
- cfulp, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1Eh, the PS3 was rushed. Anyone who's had your controller mysteriously stop working mid fragging will tell you the same. Not to mention the whole rumble pack immersion *****. You don't have to be a fanboy to point out the obvious. It's not like my 360 is doing perfectly. It had no red ring of death, but it did lock up all the time before I sent it back. And the CD drive sometimes wouldn't open.
- cfulp, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0I don't know, I like Blue Dragon. The combat makes it a very traditional RPG (compared to FF12 anyway). Only thing different from normal turn based RPGs is how you engage enemies, which is cool. But, the Xbox was specifically lacking these type of games. Maybe I'm being biased though, as I mentioned, it's the only turn based RPG I ever played for the 360.
- SonicBoom1000, on 10/10/2007, -5/+3"You just summed up the PS3 in general." Fanboy much?
- tchawla, on 10/10/2007, -7/+5According to gamerankings, there is only one magazine review in and it's a 9.0 - I'm hesitant to believe this.
http://gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/929230.asp?q=lair - Mrstupid7, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1If this is true, that is pretty sad. I remember canceling my subscription to EGM because of their blatant bias towards Sony and at least their PS2.
- evozero, on 10/10/2007, -5/+3when i first saw ground combat for this game, it was a trailer where you had to take out a bunch of catapults destroying a wall. after watching it for a little bit i thought to myself.. is this dynasty warriors on a dragon? i will see how the demo plays but this is one that never really caught my eye to begin with. i'll probably wait for warhawk & heavenly sword.
- xerus, on 10/10/2007, -8/+4graphics
am i rite - Bossman1086, on 10/10/2007, -10/+5It seems pretty credible. I mean, sure, it's a blog type site, but it's a Sony fanboy site. Why would they say bad things about the PS3 if they weren't true?
- mrfreeziexp, on 10/10/2007, -15/+10"It seems...I don't know, rushed and the SIXAXIS control seems tacked-on. The graphics are amazing, sure, but everything else is just weak and will probably get old after the first day. It's just worth a rental at best."
You just summed up the PS3 in general. - donkeybat64, on 10/10/2007, -10/+3sad.. exceptionally for ps3 fans that was hoping this was going to be a great game, it had such promise
- nubious, on 10/10/2007, -12/+4When are people going to realize that the PS3 is a crock of junk and move on? Good games ideas on bad systems = bad games.. Bad games on Good systems = bad games.. So far, I'm glad I still only game on PC... the ONLY reason we bought a Wii was because of the pointer capabilities, and quite frankly, that got old quite quickly.
- knodi, on 10/10/2007, -12/+3Heavenly Sword is going to go the same route.

What is Digg?
