Other than that it's a superb machine and it has a very low failure rate especially when you compare it to XBOX 360. Also, PS3 is selling the same amount of consoles 360 was selling at this point in it's life span. Not a PS3 fanboy, just a realist. The machine offers tons of expensive hardware for a hell of a bargain, and now they're gonna include $100 worth of movies with it and a price drop. Hell of a deal if you ask me. I'd rather get my $500 PS3 that prolly won't fail than take a chance on a 360 or settle with Wii's lame ass gimmick. And for the record, I have a 360 and a Wii.

But when the Elite sold out fast, and there are more and more problems being reported (just saw a headline that claimed MS was paying $1 billion (one BILLION dollars!!) for 360 repairs, I'm kind of gunshy until they get the newer 65 nm process going. So I may end up with the PS3 for a few games and the BluRay player.

Yeah yeah yeah, I know, "I don't want all that extra stuff! Waaaah!" Saying how you don't want your system to be able to take advantage of HD disc storage space is a load of crap. Saying you don't want a HDD (or you only want/need one that's 20GB) is also a load of crap. Saying you want to be constrained by ethernet cables (or have them running the full length of your house) is also a load of crap "I love tripping over ethernet cords!"
Get over yourselves. I have both the "premium" 360 (20 GB HDD) and the "premium" PS3 (60 GB HDD and all the other bells and whistles) and I can say that my PS3 is a better bargain. Hell, I don't have to replace any damned batteries in my controller AND I can still play games even if my controller battery is low (just plug it in, baby!). - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+25Just think of the extra $200 as being for whatever makes the PS3 not break 30% of the time.

- StateofMind09, on 10/11/2007, -3/+20Spot on. Another gripe may be that multi platform games suffer in the transition to PS3 because its architecture is so complex. This isn't a problem for talented developers, but I just don't think most games that start on another platform will carry over very well. Games like Haze and Virtua Fighter that begin development on the PS3 won't suffer from this though. I'm extremely confident that the exclusive games are coming. There's already enough announced for this year/early next year to warrant a purchase IMHO.
Also, while the PS3 is correctly priced (really it IS a bargain, they're losing money), $500-$600 is still expensive. - digudown, on 10/11/2007, -2/+18Many people who can afford it are waiting for a price drop. Why pay extra if price is going to go down by $100 soon anyway. Perhaps they will buy it.
