- inactive, on 12/13/2008, -8/+63This beta program doesn't work to 100% satisfaction?! TIME TO PISS AND MOAN. TO ARMS, BROTHERS.
- Jiggernaut82, on 12/13/2008, -4/+57I hate how it keeps moving my friends and I to different servers. 3 of us are talking in the plaza and decide to go to the bowling alley, we all walk in at the same time and we are in 3 different bowling alleys. so we use our friends list a click "go to" then play a few games of bowling, leave at the same time to go to the plaza....Bam we are in 3 different plaza's. Is it not possible to at least keep your friends on 1 server or area?
- NuclearFriend, on 12/13/2008, -1/+49It was in the XMB for me, just above the Store button.
- KSUdesigner, on 12/13/2008, -2/+35If not for finding flaws, what is the point of beta testing? Betas are full of flaws and aren't intended to be perfect. You're a fool if you think otherwise.
- inactive, on 12/13/2008, -3/+26Solution: Set fanboys on fire.
- beaverfetus, on 12/13/2008, -9/+29playstation home comes pre-pwn3d
http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/ - Nathrat, on 12/13/2008, -0/+19same here.
- apena89, on 12/13/2008, -5/+23yet it still went down.
- k3y5rmy1if3, on 12/13/2008, -31/+49Who gives a sh*t about Playstation Home. It's basically like a half baked, knock off of Second Life with advertisements. And plus, you can't fly? What fun is that?
- SpeedSteamBoat, on 12/13/2008, -2/+18Actually, I'm pretty sure that's EXACTLY what a beta test means.
- StolenLamp, on 12/13/2008, -5/+19Wow, people hate everything and anything. I enjoy it. It's fun to be able to chill with people at 3 in the morning and shoot some pool. Take it or leave it, it's free!
- stk198323, on 12/13/2008, -3/+17The bubble machine!
- ligyron, on 12/13/2008, -9/+23You mean I'm not the only one that can't access PlayStation Home? And I thought Sony was just out to get me. Guess I can take off my tinfoil hat thanks to this very useful article...
- Vorlindeion, on 12/13/2008, -6/+20Tried out the beta. Has a lot of potential, especially the theater. Hopefully Sony'll add much more content in the final release.
- Zamfir, on 12/13/2008, -9/+23...except that Home is FREE and it's a BETA, but yea other than those differences, I guess it's the same as the pay-for XBLA service being down last xmas.
- Number23, on 12/13/2008, -1/+14You're not missing much...
- Sunsneezer, on 12/13/2008, -2/+15Sums up my experience exactly. Welcome to the Playstation purgatory!
- icegoddess13, on 12/13/2008, -10/+21You are not missing much!
- benitojuarez, on 12/13/2008, -0/+11Blame google for making people think beta means finished product.
- ChinezePanda, on 12/13/2008, -14/+25I have a 360. I haven't turned it on a week.
Shut the ***** up. - inactive, on 12/13/2008, -1/+11MAN THE HARPOONS!!
- chudgoo, on 12/13/2008, -3/+13Having spent a few hours in Home, I've got to say that Sony is VERY clever.
The commercial IS the game!
You will find yourself surrounded by music from Sony music, be treated to a trailer for a sony pictures production called twilight and rock out to the sounds of a sony music artist, paramore.
No matter where you go or what you do in Home, you are being marketed to. - MWeather, on 12/13/2008, -2/+12Yeah, player-hosted servers you pay for are better than dedicated and player-hosted servers for free.
- mackycorp, on 12/13/2008, -0/+9It's in the XMB above the icon for the Playstation Store
- Hockey37, on 12/13/2008, -1/+10Try doing it your underwear, and tell me how that goes for you.
- Thorpe, on 12/13/2008, -1/+10Yeah, but even Microsoft can't always get it right with reliability. The status of Xbox LIVE wasn't too good when they new NXE update went live. Paid or free, there's always going to be some minor or major problem it seems.
- bejayel, on 12/13/2008, -1/+8You do download Home via XMB...
- GWAN, on 12/13/2008, -1/+8There's no point getting in loads of costly servers when they'll only be needed for one busy period
- j0hn33y, on 12/13/2008, -4/+11Or even jump or run.
- emjaymj, on 12/14/2008, -0/+7Not that I really care about Home, but the only way you'd have a point would be if ALL 3 of the following were true - and yet not a single one is:
a) If XBox Live had a functioning alternative to Home (or even ANY alternative)
b) If it didn't JUST roll out into open beta
c) If this somehow created problems playing online, or any other online functions, which it doesn't
So... why do I have to pay for it again?
Oh, and didn't Live have even worse problems about a year ago simply from the influx of 360's bought for Christmas? - Repeater2000, on 12/13/2008, -15/+22Playstation Home is the reason Phil Harrison was fired. That doesn't exactly get me pumped to try the end result.
- roxgod666, on 12/13/2008, -4/+11*jog
- geedots, on 12/13/2008, -2/+9haaaave you ever heard of PR? When's the last time you read about some executive being fired? It's always that they've left to pursue other interests, or left for personal reasons, or are "stepping down".
- shinythingy, on 12/13/2008, -1/+7Other than your speculation what else do you have to back this up. It is more likely that he was fired over constant arguing with Japan HQ.
- pencilneck, on 12/13/2008, -5/+11Not missing too much at this point. It boils down to a digital doll house and you can buy a chair for your pretend apartment for 99 cents. Welcome to the digital sausage fest.
- setrajonas, on 12/13/2008, -2/+8Tycho said it best:
"There are things about Home that are simply beyond my understanding. Chief among these bizarre maneuvers is the idea that, when manufacturing their flimsy dystopia, they actually ported the pernicious notion of scarcity from our world into their digital one. This is like having the ability to shape being from non-being at the subatomic level, and the first thing you decide to make is AIDS." - twitrock, on 12/13/2008, -1/+7You have to cancel any current downloads and then it will appear under the Playstation Store icon.
- rreadysetno, on 12/13/2008, -2/+8That's funny, cause I was...
Wait, that actually wasn't funny. - specialK16, on 12/13/2008, -1/+7AFAIR, Live had a horrible downtime last Christmas.
- pencilneck, on 12/13/2008, -2/+7White long sleeve T shirt with dark blue short sleeve T shirt rocks!
- dandonia, on 12/14/2008, -0/+5But you're not, its free.
- specialK16, on 12/13/2008, -2/+7Lol. Sums it up nicely. I actually encountered and individual sitting on the middle of the ***** mall saying "I hate my life"....
- Philbert, on 12/14/2008, -2/+7You can? How do you do that when the lanes / tables / games are constantly occupied?
- KermitJagger, on 12/13/2008, -1/+6If I wanted to wander around a virtual world and be bored for hours on end I'd play Second Life. I expected better from Sony.
- fuzzynyanko, on 12/13/2008, -4/+9The word "potential" is overused when it comes to the PS3.
- knubo, on 12/13/2008, -0/+5Try restaring your system - it will appear after that.
- FFXIfrohike, on 12/13/2008, -0/+5Yeah...Google! /glare
- dandonia, on 12/14/2008, -0/+5Yeah just like GMail is a beta right.
It was more to do with the amount of traffic than port forwarding. It is to be expected at the launch of online things just like when torrenting. You can have 2000 seeders but if there is 500,000 leechers that ***** is gonna take its time. - rickremixx, on 12/13/2008, -7/+12i been on it since it first went online and have no problems with it, enjoy bowling
- Frayed_Knot, on 12/13/2008, -1/+6Psst, all the chicks are really dudes.
