I don't understand why they are so afraid of giving like "5" reviews. In my mind 5 should be the average review. There should be nothing wrong with being a solid 5, an average game. Instead it's really a scale from 7-10, with anything lower being strictly reserved for small games from smaller publishers who don't advertise heavily in print media.

Given that the PS3 version looks as good or better than the 360 version, I expect it to do very well. Multiplatform releases have done poorly on PS3 because devs have not taken the time to do them properly. COD4 was built side by side with the 360 version and is not a port. It should do quite well.
Plus, Haze is looking pretty lame and UT3 is probably delayed. That leaves a huge hole for COD4 to fill, and fill it, it will. I also think free online will help this game do well on PS3. - joltjake, on 11/03/2007, -2/+28too many games are getting perfect scores without being perfect games.

I think that we place way to much focus on graphic and game time, when really we should look at substance.

I'm not saying COD4 isn't 10/10, because I obviously haven't played it. I would bet my right testicle that it isn't the perfect game that would entail a 10, though. It is just so odd that so many "perfect games" are coming out now. There isn't a single game I've played in my life time I'd give a perfect 10 too. I played enough of my favorite games to find plenty of stuff that pissed me off

- inactive, on 11/03/2007, -12/+2110/10? I call BS. I played the CoD4 demo on PC and was quite disappointed. The game plays exactly the same as CoD/CoD2 and the graphics are nothing special. The AI is non-existant. Enemies either stand around and shoot until they die, or they do small bits of scripted things, like rushing forward until killed. CoD4 is about as shallow as it can get, single player wise. The multiplayer seems a bit more promising with some customization, but I don't think I'll be playing it in favor of CS or TF2.

- andydumi, on 10/31/2007, -3/+9This is ione of the first games that has been developed independently on each platform a the same time, as opposed to make one then port over. So that is one of the reasons why some reviewers are saying on PS3 it may actually look better.

- Iwantawii, on 10/31/2007, -0/+6Yes, make a good online element and your game lasts forever. Well, until the next game comes along anyways. CoD's fanbase to me seems largely keeping the game alive through multiplayer, so I'd consider the 5 - 8 hour SP mode "training."

Not one game in existence is perfect - Not Deus Ex, not Crysis, not Bioshock, Half-Life 2, Ocarina of Time, Metroid Prime 3, Smash Bros Melee nor Final Fantasy VII... Such a game does not exist & never can...
