- whyufail, on 12/18/2007, -28/+96Shocking. Looks like Sony finally said "Hey, ya know, we could just do what the firmware hackers have been doing for years and then call it our own" "BRILLIANT!"
- jacksons98, on 12/18/2007, -12/+64This is awesome! Enjoying the internet radio stations feature they added to PSP last night as well. I think PSP is going to replace my Ipod for working in the yard.
I just noticed this as well. Which is going to be great because I play this game all the time:
- High Stakes on the Vegas Strip: Poker Edition
* Fully playable via PSP remote play
* Graphics look phenomenal, online play through PSP works great as well - TjLAXattack, on 12/18/2007, -2/+51Hey thanks (I am StalkingSilence over at the forums). I keep this thread up-to-date so keep checking!
- thewump, on 12/18/2007, -17/+59Breaking PS1 games is going to make them not work on ANY system.. Burried as innacturate.
- darthtofu, on 12/18/2007, -0/+40oh good god now I'll never get over my crash bandicoot addiction.
- napo79, on 12/18/2007, -2/+40You have got to be kidding me.
- IsmailOo, on 12/18/2007, -5/+42Finally Sony listens to what all the firmware hackers, haha... i mean srsly, why dont big company's always do this.
- Superman007, on 12/18/2007, -0/+35Yes, I'm playing FFVII and it works perfectly.
- santasing, on 12/18/2007, -1/+35Or, they could have gone, hey, the homebrew community has some good ideas. Let's implement those and give more access to PS owners that are not really into the home brew scene. Its called listening to customers.
- mywhitenoise, on 12/18/2007, -2/+35Playing PSOne games by remote play was never possible in CFW, and it still isn't until someone makes the new homebrew with the added feature.
- GeekyGerge, on 12/18/2007, -4/+36But imagine playing Virtual Console... ON A DS!!!!!111!!oneone!
- VipeNess, on 12/18/2007, -5/+34This is great news. I just bought a Playstation 3 and actualy enjoying it a lot. Tried out the *NEW voice changer in voice chat last night, actually pretty cool stuff. I am glad that Sony is stepping up and listening finally. I know it does take time to program it and get it right the first time, but I'm glad all these changes are going on now that I got one. Oh, and yeah, my XBOX360 camera works perfectly with the PS3 and the resolution is amazing and detail with it; my 360 actually went for repair because the DVD Drive just broke making a very loud grinding noise! http://www.thegamershow.com/news/121307.php That is the story to it.
- jacksons98, on 12/18/2007, -3/+31@Nobi-wan
Just a gamer and gadget geek. PSP and PS3 have been great toys this year. The frequent updates are awesome and the new functionality is great. It's stuff we've all been talking about for a long long time. It's a lot of fun to be a part of the Playstation community. Best part about it are all the updates and extra features are free. - moosepants, on 12/18/2007, -3/+30You do realize it's been selling immensely well since the slim redesign released? It's no where near the level of DS sales, but it is definitely not dead.
- santasing, on 12/18/2007, -3/+28I think he's more of a PS fan, like me and many others who bought the system for its merits. Remember all those threads about "wait for this" or "that is coming in future", yeah, all those things are starting to be realized now.
- kspraydad, on 12/18/2007, -0/+24Remote Play works for any wi fi spot.
- inactive, on 12/18/2007, -2/+25I'm implying that Nintendo should take notes from Sony and let all VC games to be playable on the DS.
- inactive, on 12/18/2007, -8/+30There are more PSPs in the US than there are 360's
there are more PSPs inthe world than there are 360's - skyteria, on 12/18/2007, -9/+31Seriously, my NDS isn't so cool anymore. Also PSP used to have mostly crap, and NDS had the good games. These days, it's seems tables have turned.
- santasing, on 12/18/2007, -1/+21Might I suggest then that you buy a 360 or a Wii and STFU and let the people who enjoy having a PS have fun in peace.
- inactive, on 12/18/2007, -9/+29If the PSP is a dead format than so is the 360.
- GeekyGerge, on 12/18/2007, -4/+23Format?
- Number23, on 12/18/2007, -1/+20Even thought I own a 360 and PS2, I still play my PS1 games (extensive library), many of those old games have only been surpassed graphically. Never sell or trade in games!
- TjLAXattack, on 12/18/2007, -2/+20Um... by Sony? What are you asking? It is breaking news - meaning not many have seen this yet. How would it be widely known and tested? Just go test it yourself. I can confirm it works.
- thatsmyaibo, on 12/18/2007, -2/+19Thanks for letting us know. I was worried it would work for you but you helped me to understand that it wouldn't.
- Superman007, on 12/18/2007, -0/+16I tested some games myself and they worked. But I wanted to see if it was tested before the post was made. Making sure no one jumped the gun or anything, that's all. But I tested over 10 PS1 originals and all worked fine, even some of the rarer titles. So I'm happy.
- Zamfir, on 12/18/2007, -2/+18I don't recall any hacks that allow me to play PS1 games off off the PS3 over the internet... did I miss that update?
- santasing, on 12/18/2007, -2/+17This was a very nice find. I did not realize it myself. Thanks for the info.
- kspraydad, on 12/18/2007, -1/+16Here is my poor quality video showing MGS booting up on PSP
http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=6nr7dyb&s=1 - logan074, on 12/18/2007, -7/+22you are innacturate
- santasing, on 12/18/2007, -2/+16Dead format? Ummm, PSP is a handheld system. RTF( troll )M.
- Aadain, on 12/18/2007, -2/+16Because when a hacker does it, it comes with no warrenty and they don't have to take any responsibility when/if things go wrong. Sony, a company with deep pockets, have to make sure they aren't going to cause class action lawsuites when little Timmy's PS3 stops working because they didn't test the new firmware well enough.
- rusty123jimi, on 12/18/2007, -1/+14Damn...I'm starting to wish I didn't sell my psp 6 months ago! I love my PS3...and at first...I thought this remote-play feature was kind of lame, but now its starting to seem really kickass! This whole connectivity between PS3 and PSP Sony has been talking about is starting to finally seem worth time and energy.
- johnhummel, on 12/18/2007, -0/+13Sweet - I'll have to check that out when I get home. Thanks!
- DarkStalker, on 12/18/2007, -0/+13Gran Turismo PSP wasn't cancelled. Main problem for UMD movies was that they were just too damn expensive to justify the cost (most likely thanks to movie studios). If you think the PSP has no good games, you should wake up.
- GodIsntReal, on 12/18/2007, -0/+11Amazing.
- johnhummel, on 12/18/2007, -1/+12I can't get to the forum (work filter) - but does this include multi-disk games?
- danielsousa, on 12/18/2007, -1/+12How does this work? Does it stream the game live to your PSP? Can you play anywhere there is internet, or only on the same network?
- inactive, on 12/18/2007, -1/+12i love my psp
- optor, on 12/18/2007, -1/+12Great news! Sony is doing so much to support the old three platforms, and games are still coming out for ps2.
Too bad microsoft forgot all about its xbox one. Seems that developers only touch xbox 360 when there's a lot of money being transfered behind the scenes. Roughly one game was released this year for xbox 1.

Over a 100 games were released this year for the ps2.

Don't call me a fan boy, i own both xbox1 and psp. - craterburnsu, on 12/18/2007, -0/+11Update your Ps3. Update your PSP. Turn on remote play on ps3. Remote play on psp. Select Ps1 game. play.
- kspraydad, on 12/18/2007, -0/+10You can play all your PS1 DISC games...you don't have to re buy it from the PSN unless you want to play on your PSP offline.
- charlescheese, on 12/18/2007, -2/+12Don't mind nobiwan, he calls anyone who likes anything playstation a marketer, meanwhile trolling ps3 threads constantly. How about this nobiwan, if you care so little about the playstation universe, stop clicking on these links and threads? This is a ***** cool feature, and I don't give a ***** if somebody who hates all things sony doesn't like it. Go away troll.
- kspraydad, on 12/18/2007, -0/+10Because my computer (and thus web cam) is not in a closet? Its right beside a bay window. I said it was poor :) but it does show that it works...I'll dig up a better video and link it.
- jostheller, on 12/18/2007, -4/+14Yeah death to UMD! And Go DVD +R... DVD -R will lose that format war!
- MikeD606, on 12/18/2007, -2/+11Is there any way (legally) to copy the ps1 game discs to your ps3 harddrive then remote play the files?
- jsully, on 12/18/2007, -2/+11Ape Escape specifically will not work because it requires a dual shock controller. I've tried, as hacked PSPs have had the ability to play all PS1 games using the built in emulator for a while now.
- bobbothegrayson, on 12/18/2007, -1/+10Okay, can anyone explain how this works? Sorry, I'm not in the know when it comes to the psp.
- charlescheese, on 12/18/2007, -0/+9The good news is that now you can buy the new slim PSP and get faster load times and a lighter system with a better analog stick. ;)
