- RoroCo, on 12/18/2007, -6/+31I own a 360 and have not gotten Halo... But I got Call of Duty the day it came out. Why... because I like fun games and I couldn't care less about exclusives. Only in a fanboys' minds do games magically get better because it is exclusive to the console they bought.
- charlescheese, on 12/18/2007, -8/+30Marketing, and in the case of COD4 ratings. The hype machine was in full effect for COD4 and AC. Well AC has been +10 on the hype meter since day one for most people, even though the review scores didn't come in. They both benefited from all of the advertising on both platforms as well. Still Uncharted and Ratchet will both do well over time. Uncharted will easily have 500k in sales by the end of the year, and it should continue to sell well until Christmas 08.
Uncharted certainly deserves to sell well. It's a better game than AC or COD4. I own all three games, and Uncharted is the one I keep wanting to go back to, though I haven't gotten into the COD4 multi player stuff yet.
Regardless, seeing 1 million sellers from third parties is certainly excellent news for PS3 owners. It shows devs that their games can sell well on PS3, especially if they do a decent job porting. - RoroCo, on 12/18/2007, -4/+26That and Assassin Creed is competing with less games on the PS3 platform than the 360. Not bashing either system, just saying that there are more games out for one platform which means spread interests.

Because I do. - WhereAmI, on 12/18/2007, -2/+13The problem with Ratchet and Clank advertising is I only see it on Cartoon Network. Its a kid friendly game by far, but its still fun to play as an adult. Just like Sly Cooper was and Jak I.

The big name thrid parties have better advertising, so they're going to get the Christmas sales... Uncharted and Rachet & Clank are great games, I have them both for a reason, but I also have COD4 and I don't want AC.

I think MOST people who have PS3's and have played all three games agree with me. The 12,500 post thread on Neogaf about Uncharted is plenty of evidence of that. Most people who play the game are in love with it. There's the occasional person who doesn't like it, but that can be said about ANY game.
When I'm saying a certain game is better than another game do I have to point out the obvious and state that it's my opinion? - Dracusis, on 12/18/2007, -1/+6I have both a PS3 and a 360, and I'm regretting buying the 360 now, no one's going to buy a 2nd hand 360 given the quality issues, and most of the great exclusives in the next 12 months all seem to be on the PS3. The 360 seemed strong with Halo 3 and Mass Effect, neither of which lived up to their hype IMHO. All the 360 seems to have left in the tank is Fable 2 and Ninja Gaiden 2. No doubt there will be more Halo and Gears of War games, but I grow tired of shooters on consoles. I just can't see anything on the 360 being able to hold a candle to the likes of Metal Gear, Gran Tourismo, Final Fantasy or God of War.

I hate it when there's that 1-2 games I want on a system that I don't have, but I wouldn't be sure about buying the system for just those 1-2 games.

- Mtown, on 12/19/2007, -0/+3Assassin's Creed is the basically the same on both consoles. The PS3 version's framerate drops occasionally when you swing the camera around but that doesn't effect gameplay in the least. PS3/360 CoD4 versions are exactly the same.

GoW was good. but no future games look all that great. Ps3 on the other hand....
