- Mr_Lyle, on 11/04/2009, -1/+98That video is a really horrible way to present this game. The background noise sucks the whole atmosphere away. Here's footage of the same scene in HD, with commentary.

As a 360 owner, I'm jealous as ***** that you guys are getting this game and we're not. The guys at Quantic Dream are awesome. Indigo Prophecy was freakin' amazing (at least until the weird ending) and it looks like this game is gonna be something really special. I guess you guys probably have similar feelings with regards to Alan Wake. Either way, let's hope that Heavy Rain and Alan Wake represent the beginning of a new trend where the narrative in video games becomes more than just an afterthought. The story in games should be just as important to developers as the game play itself. I enjoy blowing ***** up as much as the next guy, but there comes a time when games like Call Of Duty 54 and Battlefield 3048 just don't cut it anymore. The fact that we get 20 new FPS games per year while games like Heavy Rain and Alan Wake come out once every 5 years is a crime. - RizzosBack, on 11/05/2009, -3/+20Where's the new Chubby Rain gameplay video?
- CB810, on 11/04/2009, -1/+11The Quantic Dream gaming experience is like no other...
- ayeroxor, on 11/05/2009, -0/+9I was hoping for some Chocolate Rain gameplay video.
But I guess some stay dry while others feel the pain. - Tubal22, on 11/05/2009, -1/+10Reminds me of those choose your own adventure books I used to get in elementary.
"If you want to hit the old man, turn to page 54"
"If you want to talk to the old man, turn to page 62" - 96657, on 11/05/2009, -0/+7Righteous. Thanks for the links.
I adored Indigo Prophecy, and was incredibly disappointed to hear that Heavy Rain would be a PS3 exclusive and not available on the 360 or PC. Games with a powerful narrative and strong story-driven gameplay are the ones that really resonate with people, it's a shame that there is such little focus on them. - bated321, on 11/05/2009, -8/+15Sure it may look good, but how well will it play. I hate games that use lots of quicktime events.
- ayeroxor, on 11/05/2009, -1/+7It's called punctuation. Look into it.
- BananaGrabber, on 11/05/2009, -0/+5Reminds me of Sam and Max in Bosco's store.
- wondertwins, on 11/05/2009, -0/+5That can be one of the outcomes. I can't wait for this game.
- thenorwegian, on 11/05/2009, -0/+5Sounds like the guy playing the other playtest in the background isn't going the nice route.
- T8erT0T, on 11/05/2009, -1/+6Gotcha suckas!
- DarkGerbil, on 11/05/2009, -1/+6...
- Tyrghast, on 11/05/2009, -3/+8"Not only one of the best looking games of all time, but also one of the most original and immersive..."
Yawn... not the first time we've heard that - Darthmaul4114, on 11/05/2009, -2/+6i mentioned it once. and the game is sitting right in it.
- hawarkarem, on 11/05/2009, -0/+4The thing with this "game" is that it's not really a game. It's an interactive movie.
- Shaflugi, on 11/05/2009, -0/+4Except the graphics DON'T closely resemble people. There wasn't a single point in that video that the characters even remotely looked realistic. They always either look like video game or CGI characters.
- InfinitySnatch, on 11/05/2009, -4/+7***** you. MGS4 was awesome!
- danwallace, on 11/05/2009, -0/+3Does this EVER work?
- thediggpigg, on 11/05/2009, -0/+3I thought that image next to the link was of a real person when I first glanced over it. The graphics look incredible for a Video Game.
- dawgma, on 11/05/2009, -1/+4That's exactly what it is. They say you have "choice" or you can play the game and "make your own story" or whatever.. but it's really just option A, B or C that all go down paths that eventually lead to D anyway.. most of the time. Despite all the "choice" the designers seem to suggest you have, you basically end up playing the same game, same story as everyone else.
- Cannonballkid, on 11/05/2009, -2/+5I want to make a Phillies losing the WS joke but instead I will say count me as one of the 10 ppl. This game looks great.
- ayeroxor, on 11/05/2009, -2/+5***** you. It's THAN!
- dsmx, on 11/05/2009, -3/+6Actually I'm not that bothered by alan wake. Mainly because it's getting to the point now where it's been delayed so many times I just don't care about it any more. I'm beginning to think it will never come out.
- tadj, on 11/04/2009, -1/+4This really does look amazing!
- kitew, on 11/05/2009, -0/+2That's always my problem with games that try to look "real". (Sports games suffer from this in my opinion as well)
I'll always take a game that is stylized over "realistic" graphics. Even if that means the graphics are overall lower quality, as long as the universe meshes it ends up looking amazing. A good example of this is any number of 2D side scrollers that have been surfacing lately. Obviously nowhere near as detailed as this, but they don't have to be because they're fun to look at.
So I guess "real" is a style, but so far it just hasn't worked for me.
That being said I have to admit this is the closest I've seen yet to not being awkward! - volacide, on 11/06/2009, -0/+2The exact reason that I bought a PS3. Variety. The 360 is a great console and has some great games, but it really is absolutely lacking in that regard.
Like you I love FPS (ex-CS addict), but I can only take so much, I need to mix it up and the PS3 definitely provides that, and it does so with some absolutely quality games.
Gotta digg you up. - jwgmac, on 11/05/2009, -1/+3I couldn't watch the freakin' trailer with all the ads! I couldn't get the DJ Hero ad off the screen so I don't know what the Goddamn game looks like. In addition to that *****, the noise on the video was too much. Digg needs to change the heading to: This site will make you want to destroy your PC and kill your neighbor's dog.
- pharmokan, on 11/05/2009, -1/+3was waiting for some heads to be blown off
- dawgma, on 11/05/2009, -9/+11Overrated and overhyped (especially by the developers) to be something it is not.
All of the devices that they claim add a new level of immersiveness are really just the same old plot devices and game mechanics wrapped in a new package. It is not going to be nearly as open ended or player driven as you are being led to believe.
It reminds me of the hype before Bioshock was released; before even the first gameplay vid was shown. If anyone remembers what the developers were saying early on (especially about the AI of the Big Daddys) and compared it to the final product... it was so far off. Still a great game. But no where near the level of "immersiveness" that the developers were hyping.
Oh.. and that gameplay video (if you can call it that, how much playing did you even witness?) is months old. - darthweder, on 11/05/2009, -1/+3Play Indigo Prophecy (Fahrenheit in the UK) and tell me that quicktime events don't work. This game is made by the same people, and if they do the QT events as well, I'm sold
- MacHarborGuy, on 11/05/2009, -0/+2quite uncanny, like the X-Men, but more valley than men.
- Mr_Lyle, on 11/05/2009, -0/+2I'm not really sure what you guys are talking about. Heavy Rain was announced at E3 2006 and Alan Wake was announced at E3 2005. Neither game has had a solid release date up to this point. Both games showed playable game play footage at E3 2009 and both are supposed to be released in the first quarter of 2010. The only difference in the development cycles between the games is that Alan Wake's started a year earlier. Otherwise they're virtually identical.
Also, there's this: "After a GDC Europe presentation on how Remedy handles intellectual property, we asked the executive if the long-in-development title would be ready to wake when the snow melts. Myllyrinne noted, "It's all done, we're just polishing at this point."
I'm not sure where you got the idea that this game is vaporware. Absolutely ridiculous. - firesights, on 11/05/2009, -0/+2What does that statement have to do with this game, though?
Air > Vitamins or calcium, but that doesn't mean the latter isn't important. If graphics don't matter, why are you buying the newest gaming systems? - shoyurx, on 11/19/2009, -0/+2(I move away from the keyboard to breathe)
- TheROOKlE, on 11/05/2009, -2/+4Cant wait for this game Indigo Prophecy was amazing
- camaroz06, on 11/05/2009, -2/+4Question for those that have been following this game so far, is it going to be mostly just pressing the buttons that appear on screen? Honestly I cannot stand stuff like that in adventure/action type games, but what I have heard of the storyline of this game has me interested.
- Ceryn1126, on 11/05/2009, -1/+3I believe this is what you were looking for.

- danwallace, on 11/05/2009, -1/+2Have any of you ever experienced revulsion at the site of a CGI character because it was too close to human? Nope. So why keep mentioning it?
- TrainByte, on 11/05/2009, -0/+1For those that are still skeptical about this game, play Indigo Prophecy.
- malk0me, on 11/05/2009, -0/+1It's right next to the Taylor Rain video.
- BlueStarr, on 11/12/2009, -0/+1you must be an Xbox owner.
- bizzywho, on 11/05/2009, -0/+1I really wanna see them make Omikron 2.
When I played Omikron: The Nomad Soul back in like 1999, I was blown away! - ayeroxor, on 11/05/2009, -0/+1Uncanny.
- TwwIX, on 11/05/2009, -0/+1That would be "Chubby Rain".
- KingBroseph, on 11/05/2009, -1/+2Heavy rain, chubby rain, chocolate rain, it's all the same.
- Zoshchenko, on 11/05/2009, -0/+1I hope the real game is more interesting than simply talking a guy out of robbing a store by pressing a button when options swirl around your head.
- Nihilius, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1New gameplay video? This has been out for months.
