- Ndiggnation, on 01/07/2008, -3/+21Thanks for letting us know what you won't be playing..
- intenscia, on 01/07/2008, -0/+16Just fixed the links, thanks for pointing that out:

PC: http://www.moddb.com/mods/10356/action-cam/downloa ... - sacredpigeon, on 01/07/2008, -2/+16Finally great to see some UT3 PS3 mods being released. I personally would love to see some custom maps come to the playing field; although this is a great start! There is always a unique sense of fun and excitement when playing maps created by other gamers. I don't know if it is the small imperfections, or just the fact that we're playing something new for free that was created by users like ourselves. Regardless, 2008 should be very fruitful for UT3. :)
- SiNN4R, on 01/07/2008, -1/+15but what will you be having for dinner tonight?
- inactive, on 01/07/2008, -1/+12PC. 3rd person sucks for online shooter games. We learned that 10 years ago with Rogue Spear, Ghost Recon and the like.
Makes it very easy to camp. You just wait while hiding for someone to appear. they can't see you, but you can see them... - mywhitenoise, on 01/07/2008, -0/+9That's pretty cool. I'll definitely check this out once I get home.
- nymphetamine, on 01/07/2008, -1/+10I think the links might be messed up or something, but when I go to download, it goes to the PC one instead of the PS3. Here's the link to the PS3: http://files.filefront.com/ActionCam+v10+ps31zip/; ...
- kushed, on 01/07/2008, -0/+8Didn't UT2k4 have a similar feature? I think it was F4 that switched the camera view
- jacenat, on 01/07/2008, -0/+7it's a mod. noone will play it in multiplayer anyway.
besides ... competitive duel shooter on consoles? comon ... - Barnolde, on 01/07/2008, -0/+6Free maps, action cam, free mods, kb/m support and to think at one point I regretted buying this for $60. UT3 is a must-own with its infinite replayability, it's the game that keeps on giving.
I tried out the action cam last night and it plays like a different game. Plugged in a keyboard and mouse and they were instantly recognized.
The open nature of the PS3 is one of the best things about the system and it will only continue to improve. Excellent work, Epic. - rayraym0fucka, on 01/07/2008, -2/+8This will end up banned in any competitive play due to players being able to see past walls they normally wouldn't be able to see past.
For those of you who played ut99 on the PC and remember "behindview" you'll know what I'm talking about. - markperia, on 01/07/2008, -2/+8what? a couple of clicks? Kids these days are getting too lazy...
- sacredpigeon, on 01/07/2008, -0/+6I have no clue. The same reason you are.
- shinythingy, on 01/07/2008, -0/+6I don't see how releasing on a console as well affected the PC version. You're just being a little bitch
- kingmanic, on 01/07/2008, -0/+5If it runs well and you have WASD+mouse, what is the big diff? You can even develop the maps and mods on the PS3 via linux. Although I couldn't recommend it(not sure how many linux native tools there are, so wine emulated UT3 tools may not run too well). I also don't understand the last part. You have more powerful cards because of Vista certification? Are you blaming the Gui for making you buy a more expensive card?
- AndrewLeon, on 01/07/2008, -0/+5Can someone explain to me why i have to go through such a tedious process to download and install these Mods?
Why can't there just be a website accessible from the PS3 where i can download them?? The Browser is there for a reason.... right?
Oh yeah, Awesome mod BTW. :) - IndigoMoss, on 01/07/2008, -3/+8What the *****? Why are you getting dugg down?
- BugMeNot2, on 01/07/2008, -0/+4Check out the areas of the screen where there's red when you're being shot.
The area where the red shapes appear as you're being shot? That's the direction you're being shot from. - L4WL3RS34L, on 01/08/2008, -0/+4Yeah, I thought this was a joke at first. Why would anyone play UT3 in third-person? It completely ruins the whole game series IMO, the game was just made for first person.
- bigfinger, on 01/07/2008, -4/+8Cool, just wish I didnt need a USB drive to download it though. Not so bad, on XBOX LIve they would charge you for this.
- CReyes4182, on 01/07/2008, -0/+4Whats really cool is that if someone has the mod and is hosting a game with it you will automatically download it. It takes like 3 seconds :D
- inactive, on 01/07/2008, -1/+5UT3 is selling piss poor on PC right now...so yeah.
- captfallout, on 01/07/2008, -0/+3It's not my site, but here is a page designed to be viewable from your PS3 with this and other custom UT3 content downloadable. I haven't used it (as I don't have a ps3) but there's a video tutorial at the bottom explaining how to set these mods up without even needing to touch a PC!
http://www.ut3mod.com/ - harnoorminhas, on 01/07/2008, -0/+3WOW Can't wait to try it... It will make the game play a lot better - now that you can tell which direction you are being shot from...
- triplehelix, on 01/07/2008, -0/+3all in favor?
- Po0py, on 01/07/2008, -1/+4Whilst it is nice to see mods being made, I can say as a competative UT player that over the shoulder view does not work with UT's ultra fast gameplay.
- zerobackup, on 01/07/2008, -0/+3Search for Red Kawa file server, it's neat little program that lets you transfer files from your PC to your PS3 via network. I have been using it to move Divx movies onto my PS3 and it works flawlessly, it should work for the UT3 mod files as well.
- captfallout, on 01/07/2008, -1/+4It wasn't created for serious competitive play, but for fun. Many gamers are fans of the Gears of War camera system, so this mod attempts to recreate a similar camera. Also, quite a few people that experience some degree of motion sickness when playing first-person shooters feel more comfortable playing from a view where they can see the character they control instead of just a bobbing weapon floating on screen.
- Crushkilla, on 01/08/2008, -0/+3Although it hurts to see this game not getting as much publicity on PC (where it's an experience that's leagues better), it's nice to know it's getting SOME publicity somewhere.
- inactive, on 01/08/2008, -0/+3Well you can only import one at a time, and it requires additional hardware (ie: memory stick/sd card/compact flash card/USB hard/flash drive)
The game should use the webbrowser and make it a 1 click process - volacide, on 01/07/2008, -1/+4How is camping in a 3rd person game on a PC any easier than it is to do on a game like Gears of War on the 360?
- dsmx, on 01/07/2008, -0/+2I thought that too, I thought it would take your picture and send it to the person who just killed you. Actually sounds like a good idea for a mod that.
- inactive, on 01/07/2008, -0/+2motion seconded.
- Taylor--, on 01/08/2008, -0/+2LOL. your joking right?
- PhantomRogue, on 01/07/2008, -0/+2True, but those games were what got me hooked into FPS's... So as much as I dislike it now, I loved it when I was playing it.
- funkytaco, on 01/08/2008, -0/+2While we're off topic, what is the colour of your underwear?
- JudgeMonkey, on 01/08/2008, -0/+2Yeah, right. getting tea bagged is bad enough. having a real pair of balls appear on my screen when I die? No thank you.
- inactive, on 01/08/2008, -0/+1Absolutely. Every play paintball in real life?
The 3rd person replaces an aspect of real life combat that a regular fps can't. In a regular FPS you're not as aware of your environment as you would be in real life. - Digibull, on 01/08/2008, -0/+1Realistic having a third person view of yourself?
- Po0py, on 01/08/2008, -0/+1I'm sure it does play well. But it will slow you down and your skill will decrease vastly. I'd imagine you would struggle against average/skilled bots.
- inactive, on 01/08/2008, -0/+1There is a single player campaign, and hot-swap online co-op
- inactive, on 01/08/2008, -1/+2Yes, they would charge on Live.
- captfallout, on 01/08/2008, -0/+1Someone is listening :)
The next release will contain the ability to fully customize your camera view (height, distance, offset, smoothing, viewbob, etc), the ability to use presets (Gears, Mass Effect, WOW, etc) that match popular third-person games, the ability to switch between first and third person on the fly, as well as the ability to swap between any of these profiles while in game.
It's still over a week away, but it's coming--for both PC and PS3 - 12340987, on 01/08/2008, -0/+12004 had a lot of awesome things UT3 doesn't have.
- TheGuruStud, on 01/08/2008, -0/+1more importantly, is he going to sell his home to buy quad SLI'd 8800 ultras to run crisis?
:P - Cyber_Akuma, on 01/08/2008, -0/+1Burnout Paradise does that, on both the Xbox360 and Ps3 versions.
- AzureRise, on 01/08/2008, -0/+1I don't see what's so hard about downloading something to your flash drive and opening it on your ps3. But I guess a download service for mods would be cool. Maybe open a mod option on the main menu and have a list of mods pop up with a short description, then just highlight and select them to download.
- Taylor--, on 01/08/2008, -0/+1Some maps have been released, the only problem is people have to go out of their way to get them on their PS3 so very few amounts of people actually play them online. It sucks but that's whats happening.
- AzureRise, on 01/08/2008, -0/+1How do you use this mode in Campaign?
- fixedcoma, on 01/08/2008, -0/+1They need to make it an option for third or first person shooters, i like splinter cells third view camera and click the left stick to swap from right or left third person view! But still nothing compares to in your face control of a first person! so needless to say it should be an option!!! Let's just hope someone is listening!
