80 GB Playstation 3 will NOT have PS2 Emotion Engine; Confirmed
gamingbits.com — SCEA confirmed with us that the newly announced PS3 80 GB Playstation will not have the PS2 hardware in it. The 80 GB PS3 will be the first NTSC Playstation 3 to use a software engine for PS1 and PS2 backwards compatibility. PAL PS3s have been using the software engine since launch.
