- charlescheese, on 11/15/2007, -4/+23Then buy the 80gb that comes with a top of the line $60 game and BC for $100 more. If you think about it, the 80gig is only $40 more, if you were going to buy Motorstorm anyway. For $40 you get BC and 40 gigs extra of HD space. I guess it's what you value. I for one can't play PS2 games anymore after experiencing PS3 games. They just look like too much ***** on my HDTV.
- chris9902, on 11/15/2007, -6/+23ZOMG DUDE the PS3 has 70 less jiggawatts! I'm totally buying that! I love the planet!
- AvidPreatorian, on 11/15/2007, -4/+18not big news but it's worth noticing i guess - in today's ice-melting, ocean-rising, polar bear-dying, world
- mythicflux, on 11/14/2007, -2/+13Same with my Xbox360. Microsoft is currently repairing it.
- grat2001, on 11/15/2007, -6/+16Why? A lot of people could care less about BC, I'm one of them.
- aphexcoil, on 11/15/2007, -0/+10People who pay their own electric bill. 67 watts * 24 hours * 30 days * .14 cents per kilowatt hour = 48 kilowatt hours saved per month or $6.72. That's $80 bucks a year.
- drizzlelicious, on 11/14/2007, -0/+8That joke's a bit old. Ever bother to check up on the PS3 games that have been coming out recently?
- mywhitenoise, on 11/14/2007, -1/+9As the article you posted clearly states, the graphics chips is still 90nm, dumbass.
- tastypastry, on 11/15/2007, -1/+9Motorstorm is a good game btw.
- inactive, on 11/14/2007, -2/+9fun?
- mythicflux, on 11/14/2007, -2/+9Because its just an excuse for him to get a fanboy dig in. Just like how many people still refer to the PS3 as being $600 dollars. It doesn't matter to them that it's now $200 dollars less. They just want to be trolls.
- bejayel, on 11/15/2007, -1/+8You should have said 65. By rounding to the lesser figure, you will get more diggs when talking about the PS3
- krische, on 11/14/2007, -0/+5Look, we all know you are just posting that to try and get a rise out of someone because you are likely bored and have nothing else to do.
Or, who knows, maybe you just are that stupid and don't pay attention to the very site you are posting on. - inactive, on 11/15/2007, -2/+7Watts
- krische, on 11/14/2007, -0/+5And nothing probably will. So, NEWS FLASH!! Nobody cares.
- plantfood, on 11/15/2007, -21/+26who the ***** cares?
- AntBing, on 11/14/2007, -2/+6The chip size has gone from 90nm to 65nm...therefore the wattage needs will decrease as well.
- trogdor282, on 11/14/2007, -0/+4So we should just sit on our electricity-wasting asses until that day comes?
- cnot3, on 11/14/2007, -0/+4Nuclear power is the cleanest and most efficent power source currently at our disposal. Thanks to the hippies that protest it, theres no chance of converting from coal based plants.
- Mejogid, on 11/14/2007, -0/+4Or, there could be a big drive towards energy efficiency, improvements in public transportation (and car efficiency), a dramatic increase in renewable increase and greater use of nuclear energy. It's not some sort of exclusive thing where you have to pick an improvement and use only that improvement.
- xTRUMANx, on 11/14/2007, -1/+4decker12, looks like you misposted. Things no one cares about should be posted on your blog, not digg. ktb
- Shaflugi, on 11/15/2007, -0/+3Ooh, 6 bucks a month.. I'd be more worried about replacing our old CRT TV and 20 year old air conditioner.
- Murdats, on 11/14/2007, -3/+6electricity doesnt contribute to global warming, unfounded social worries and bad laws preventing us from using nuclear power contribute to global warming.
and yes while nuclear is not ideal, which would you prefer, use nuclear now until these still in development technologies are ready to get rolled out 20 years from now and wait another 15 for them to be common place, use entire countries as windfarms and solarfarms or use nuclear as a stopgap to stop pollution now while we work on implementing themore preferable solutions? - willfe, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2You're right that nuclear is the best short-term solution until we get better solar/wind/geothermal/hydroelectric/etc. generators running, but reducing electric consumption now does all sorts of good things for us (reducing total energy consumed means power plants generate less power, burning less fuel; lower transmission rates across aging power lines means the grid will last longer; the electric bill for each individual trying to save electricity goes down).
- potterboy, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2Its an HD x.264 and DivX player with game support, web browser, etc for $399.
- inactive, on 11/14/2007, -2/+4what the ***** are you rambling about? Were you even trying to be coherent?
- benroy, on 11/15/2007, -2/+4Am I the only one who thinks that 175 Watts is a lot? Especially when you can't get to a save point in time and have to leave the console running because you need to leave for work.
- kenvsryu, on 11/14/2007, -2/+4Gotta love haterade.
- SpongeBad, on 11/14/2007, -0/+21.21 Gigawatts!
- staticneuron, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2Yeah the RSX is 90 but the cell is 65. How does the rsx deny the fact that the cell is 65?
- blankoboy, on 11/15/2007, -0/+2Ooooh $6/month x 5 million consoles. Do the math wizard....that's a lot of saved electricity. Not to mention less heat which increases the lifespan of the hardware.
- DarkShroud, on 11/15/2007, -0/+2You were doing so well until the games comment. Quit trolling.
- bobotheking, on 11/14/2007, -1/+3This is great because I have this 7 kilogram weight I've been meaning to lift at one meter per second.
- DarkShroud, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1Getting a boat is the only way people will ride his dingy.
- AvidPreatorian, on 11/14/2007, -2/+3electricity DOES contribute to co2 emissions. electricity releases co2 when reacting with air particles. look it up. you think it's just gases we burn? that's it?
- DarkShroud, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1"My buddy's PS3 consumes 0W of electricity, because it's always turned off when he's over my house getting blown."
There, I fixed it for you. - triplehelix, on 11/14/2007, -1/+2its only clean if you forget about that pesky radioactive waste your left with.
- KrustyTClown, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1Oooh Halo 3, Wow, the most overated and over hyped game of all time.
- KrustyTClown, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1your loss. The Blu-ray drive alone in the PS3 is probably worth it. I guess if you have the money and you want it.
- Shaflugi, on 11/15/2007, -0/+1You own 5 million consoles..?
- KrustyTClown, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1I think Intel just released a 45nm, I wonder if Sony and MS will use these later on.
- hiikeeba, on 11/15/2007, -3/+3I thought Watts was a neighborhood in LA.
- SlyMm, on 11/14/2007, -1/+1It creates ozone dumbass. ***** carbon dioxide nerds
/me goes and burns tires - AkumaX, on 11/14/2007, -3/+2I'm assuming that the 174w vs. 104w difference is on idle. I'd like to see what the difference is on load!
- volacide, on 11/14/2007, -2/+1***** bears.
- hiikeeba, on 11/15/2007, -4/+3But think of the CO2 emissions you save! Why the rate of Global Warming has already started to slow! To heck with BC.
- djpants428, on 11/14/2007, -2/+1You have a boat? Sweet
- Flashman, on 11/15/2007, -7/+5It's called a pun.
- dasutin, on 11/14/2007, -6/+3Yeah because it doesn't have the Emotion Engine anymore
- Inferny, on 11/14/2007, -5/+1IT'S OVER NINE THOUSAND!!!
