- 2026 diggs
- digg it
- screamokid, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18this has to be the biggest time waster ever, i spent 4 hours playing....... and the highest i got was level 115 on map 4 (ricky), but will play again when i wake up :)
- Ransomowris, on 10/12/2007, -10/+47buried for the stupid description+title
- Akaji, on 10/12/2007, -5/+18This is far too easy...
- robotsongs, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Just wait for 20 minutes from now..... fuuuuuuug.
- brocklese, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16how do you use the nuke?
- TheIconoclast31, on 10/12/2007, -28/+5Mirror: http://www.funny-base.com/games8/onslaughtjfg.swf
- fatdog789, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Mirror goes to different game by the same name.
- ArgusSmith, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2Hold it. You spent 4 hours playing a game to figure out it was a waste of time? Should I really trust an opinion from the likes of you?
- alex32211, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9What does the radar do?
- MakutaBloodlust, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4@argus: i agree with him. half an hour of my life I'll never get back, but it's so hard to stop playing!!!!!
and "waste of time" != "time waster" - bigeasyboy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0wow...gj
- vault, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1I'm on level 44 and each enemy only has 100 hp..so all you need is a fast firing red tower and up the damage. Do the enemies get more hp later in the game? All I did was place this near the entrance and no enemy has gotten past it...pretty boring and poorly thought out game..
- RatNuShock, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Only four hours? You are lucky man!
- skewh, on 10/12/2007, -6/+87Worst title/description ever?
- Yareking, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16Sure!! but the game is very great!
- bryxal, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25atleast its not INCREDIBLE or even worse ADDICTIVE
- turpenine, on 10/12/2007, -7/+19or worse yet, addicting.
- jockser, on 10/12/2007, -25/+4what are all the weapons do ?
- lethalpotato, on 10/12/2007, -3/+32why does you ask such silly questions?
- robotsongs, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3schtuff.
that's all you need to know. - jockser, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4i no speak engrish such good i mak mistak somtimes
- Justinpirate, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7A fun game but I don't quite understand the weapons. It doesn't give a good description of them and after the main three its a little confusing. I think the fourth weapon you get makes the rockets float around until an enemy comes around, but I am not for certain.
- Justinpirate, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Oops, I just realized there is a "how to play" on the website. Makes a lot more sense to me now. Awesome game.
- manmademark, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3This game wishes it was desktop TD. Give it a run.
- SlalomMan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Yes, reminds me of Desktop TD. These games are very addictive, see what mazes you can make out of em!
- iamshades, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3fun game!!!
- seiha, on 10/12/2007, -24/+2COOOL!!!!!!!
- mikev, on 10/12/2007, -7/+62AMAZING!!! ASTOUNDING!!! FAST SHIPPING WOULD BUY FROM AGAIN A++
- TonyTheTerrible, on 10/12/2007, -7/+4starcraft towers are funner
- KaneElson, on 10/12/2007, -11/+2You have to be kidding. That game was so bad, it made baby jesus cry :(
- NickDouglas, on 10/12/2007, -12/+1Tower defense games stopped being fun ages ago. Either give me something innovative or give me a classic one-minute game like Nanaca Crash.
- Davies, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2Lame. I put one turret at the entrance and it easily carried me to level 12.
- markajanssen, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Yeah, it could probably take out their server too...oh wait...it must have already.
- robotsongs, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Wait till you get to level 65 or so... it starts getting fun from there.
- 350Zed, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2stupid title!!!
buried for the useless Digg-titler approacheth!!!!!!!1
moron - Sp00k, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0Seems a poor copy of Desktop TD...
- kaffein, on 10/12/2007, -12/+3What kind of "news" is this? Keep opinion out of the submission titles and descriptions...
"Fun game!" could also be "Horrible game!" for someone else... and NOW time for my opinion:
These games suck, how many more versions of the same thing do we need? - DarkestGenesis, on 10/12/2007, -10/+3this is such a lame rip off of Desktop Tower Defense; which btw is MUCH more fun
http://www.handdrawngames.com/DesktopTD/- musicaltech, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Dunno why you guys are digging this one down. Played the game and it's pretty good. +1 just for the reference.
- Daveoh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2You know, any web-based TD is "a lame rip off" of Warcraft 3.
- Agret, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1You know, any Warcraft 3 TD is "a lame rip off" of Starcraft.
- DiggFight, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Mirror?
- MrZop, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2im at lvl 28 and all i did was place two turrets and let it run. Kinda lame to be honest.
- dtvibe, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1ahah this game like desktop defender with beter graphics lolz
and yeah its bloody easy at first, then once u go over level 100, its get bloody hard- Battleloser, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0Bloody 'ell mate!
- robotsongs, on 10/12/2007, -3/+27DAMN THAT'S *****!
I get to level 81 with 23,723,700 points... went to submit my score and:
"sorry-- we've been *****. Your score is now void."- Rfriaz, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8That made me laugh aloud.
- seventoes, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9its called "lol"
- Rekzai, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1lal
laugh aloud
- Justinpirate, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2I just got a 40,071,486
I think my highest yet.
But I can't submit the score now. Darn. - Axeman2063, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1the onslaught game is down from an onslaught of diggers...coincidence?
- dinh, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Level 97 here, 40,977,600
- hlherron, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0This game is great. It's great for killing time and a little competition between friends.
- manmademark, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2bah, got to level 112 then got owned. On the "learn to play page" (which is currently undergoing the digg effect) it tells you all sorts of combinations you can make out of the towers. For instance 2 rocket towers + 2 green tank towers + 1 blue machine gun tower all in the same range of each other and upgraded to maximum damage will give you some sort of land mine bomb. IDK about land mines but it worked kind of like a freeze tower. The radar lookin tower gives +40% range, the gold tower gives +40% damage, and the other 3 you get after that give dam/rang/firerate but take away a combination of the other 2. I just wish the L2P page would come back up =(
- markajanssen, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I can play at all. Is there another link that you play on? I'm not sure...
Help?
- markajanssen, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I can play at all. Is there another link that you play on? I'm not sure...
- smith2688, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2Way too easy.
- ij00mini, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4You're a cockface.
- Raymond2K7, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0you've probably only played for like 5 seconds
- agbygaby, on 10/12/2007, -1/+69Hi,
It's my game and you've all killed my server! I've put a working version here:
http://s3.playr.co.uk/onslaught/index.html
Which should work, but I've got no scoreboard now!
Gaby- arcooke, on 10/12/2007, -24/+2As if there weren't already -enough- clones of this game. Sorry, but not only is this one of the most unoriginal games I've ever played, it's poorly executed at that.
Sit down with a pencil and paper, brainstorm, and try to come up with your own idea. It's not your game, it's your version of someone else's game. - Rfriaz, on 10/12/2007, -15/+1Gaby,
I've got to know: is the Digg submission headline wacky (fun game!!!!) on purpose? - agbygaby, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22I didn't make the submission so that's not my grammer. I probably would have been much less elegant :)
And yes, it's a total ripoff of TD. But the TD games I've played have had some serious flaws, and I wanted to have a bash anyway, see if I could do better. It wasn't intended to be revolutionary, just fun.
Gaby - electroze, on 10/12/2007, -11/+0'..that's not my grammer'
It's actually 'grammar'. - rac3r5, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9hey thanks for the fun game :)
- zolaar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Hey, anyone who rips on someone who's put together a full-fledged working game (clone or otherwise) obviously has never tried developing a game before. It is quite possibly the most complex and taxing jobs a programmer can do, and most put in 80% of the work and either give up or release and never finish the last 20%. Give the dude some credit, will you? Have some fun!
I look forward to playing this game, thanks for making it for us! - EnzanBlues, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Awesome game and very very fun. The only thing I don't get is the combos, how do they work? I make all the turrets needed for what it says and then they are all maxed out on damage, but it doesn't seem to do anything different. Oh, and you could really use a pause button!
- alex4u2nv, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3FU!
it's 5am and I'm still play. Very good game indeed!!! - geminitojanus, on 10/12/2007, -11/+3"Hey, anyone who rips on someone who's put together a full-fledged working game (clone or otherwise) obviously has never tried developing a game before. Looks like you've never done anything substantial as a programmer. Last mile programming is certainly the most difficult, but there are way, way worse environments to do last-mile in, like (off the top of my head) Operating System programming, true multithreaded programming with correct data locking (look at any significantly large codebase of multithreaded code and you'll start to find little multithreaded bugs/race conditions poke their little faces up), Database programming, and my favorite nemesis, event handling. Unfortunately, game programming seems to combine elements of all of the above, so it keeps you agile, but fortunately game programming doesn't require /much/ of all of the above until you start talking about long RPGs/MMOs.
More than anything for game programming, the hitch is the team. It's significantly difficult to do anything of value game-wise without some kind of team or an extra arm to do the juggling for you. Flash solves the extra-arm problem quite nicely with its ability to do both programmatic and imported graphics (thusly saving you from having to do all of the heavy lifting of editing textures, making models, etc). Flash also doesn't care much for quality (it's usually running in a small box on a webpage) so the crudeness of your games actually doesn't matter all that much (and can actually make games look better, see DesktopTD).
Now for the sticking points: this game is one of the worse TDs I've played in recent history for a rather long laundry list of reasons: there's no real way to check the status of your towers (no feedback as to how they're performing, just how much they've been upgraded and range data for about ten milliseconds after you've selected said tower and pressed R), the game has a rather odd relationship to the amount of damage your towers are doing and the amount of damage the critters can take (most games increase at some kind of exponential rate; this game seems to have a rather sharp asymptote at right around level 100). It's seemingly nice that it's open ended, but it has significant balance issues, undocumented improvements/towers (which is nice if it's meant to be a "hidden" feature, but it's clearly not), and the pricing model doesn't seem to fit the rate of gameplay.
Still, it could be a lot worse, and like you said, at least he got it to a point where it's playable, which is above what most people can say.

- agbygaby, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Please use the s3 link, and when my server comes back from the dead, I'll redirect the page over to the s3 page. Hopefully this storm won't last more than a few hours... :)
Thanks again!
Gaby- Yareking, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1downlaoadable version?
- electroze, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Incredibly addictive! I know what I'm doing the next several hours, unless Digg traffic kills the server.
- agbygaby, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I would hope that however much traffic Digg can throw at Amazon's S3 servers, they could handle the load... :)
- electroze, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Yes, thanks for posting that link. It's working just dandy.
- ajskhan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12WHERE IS THE PAUSE BUTTON?!?!?
- x3n1, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2yeah pause would be nice! Level 125 w/ 89,588,025

- ErrorS, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I like this better than TD, it's pretty fun..
It's a lot harder than the others though - Nick5309, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2lvl 123, 85,777,100 :D
- EvilFerret, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1Er.....This looks like a rip off of that ***** budget game that came out 5+yrs ago.. I believe it was Activision Value who made it, they even had arcade machines that had you wear a helmet for the turret. It was a ***** game then and it's a horrible game now... Hell I'm pretty sure some of the graphics are ripped from that game... Also I believe their title logo is straight from one of the Worms games.
- choppu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0AAAGH! DAMN this is addictive. Level 91, 35,648,950 best so far,

Using long lines of lasers isn't great fun. - lollerofls, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Everyone complaining about lack of originality in this game needs to be kicked in the head. Tower defence style games have been around for ages and DesktopTD, while awesome, was certainly not the first to do it. The tower combos in this particular one add a whole new gameplay element and I for one applaud the creators efforts in keeping the genre interesting. The interface could use some work, but hey, for whats presumably some dudes spare time effort, this is pretty damn good.
- johnkeplerlewis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Lots of lasers do the trick.
- skizzy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0I'm really good at these games and I love em.
- skizzy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Just get to level 100 and when you know your going to die just keep the spacebar down and your score quadriplifies.
- chewitt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2quadriplifies?
[amazingly good waste of time aproacheth!!!!1]
- chewitt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2quadriplifies?
- supyonamesjosh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1117,320,995

tooo eeeaaasssyyyy !!!! ( once you get to know how to combo!!!!!)
- guillotino, on 04/17/2008, -0/+02,597,389,070 now thats not bad for 1 time
- Pinhedd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0level 119, /flex
- Tikkimann, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Wow. There's a 1 in the description after a string of exclamation marks. I didn't think that happened anymore, it's almost comical.
If he thought putting 'approacheth' in a sentence would make him sound smart, he failed. -
