Before we begin, let's take a moment to learn the basics of the Grand Exchange. When you open the Exchange window, you will see six boxes with 2 boxes in each. One box is for buying, and the other for selling. You can pick the quantity and the price for either buying or selling. Usually when selling, the lowest price possible will be the fastest sell.
Let me show you an example. As you can see from the screenshot below, I have three barbed tail harpoons. They are set at the max price (27 gp) and the total gold is 81 gp. I could change the quantity and/or the price if I wanted to. However, I think that is fair, so I will press "Confirm Offer" and then I will wait for it to finish. They will hold your items or money until it's completed. You can always go to any bank and press "collect" to receive the money or items you got from the exchange.
Now, that you have a basic grasp of the way it works, lets move on to money-making.
Obviously the normal merchanting is always a great way to make money. However, who really wants to sit in a bank for an hour typing "Selling 1k willows!!"? That's what's great about the Exchange. Just take your items and put them in your sell box. Name the price and the quantity will automatically be the number you have. Most of the time it will sell within a minute of you putting it up. But of course, it's not always going to work like that. As in the screenshot below, I'm waiting for them to sell.
They will not sell as fast because they are not a popular item and they are at the max price.
If I had say, 100 Swordfish, and I put them at the minimum price, they would sell very fast.
Even if they were at the maximum price, they would sell quite fast. Remember, the more popular the item is, the faster it sells.
Another good idea is to buy low and sell high. Say I buy eight swordfish at 375gp each. Then I resell them for 415gp each. I just made 320gp. Sure, it's not a lot, but say I buy 1k Swordfish for 375k and then I resold for 415kGP. See the difference? Of course making money like this could take quite awhile. Just stay patient and it will pay off.
Using the Runescape Grand Exchange is a wonderful money making opportunity. You can have that Dragon Longsword you have been dreaming of in a matter of minutes.
Happy Selling! - widdop5, on 07/09/2008, -0/+0How to Make Easy RuneScape Money
In my days, I have heard hundreds upon hundreds of How To Make Easy RuneScape Money tips. I have also developed some myself that really can work. I will name both mine and others that I've heard so that you can get rich quick. By the time your done reading this page, you should have a great idea of how to get the money for that party hat that looks oh so appealing.
I heard about thieving for money, though it seems like a lot of work, they swear by it. I have never tried this for moneymaking; I just tried it when it first came out. First things first,
You have to have at least level 50 thieving. Therefore, at level 50 through 70, they told me to pickpocket guards 13,684 times to get 410,500 gold pieces. But Still, 13,684 times! That's insane! After this, from 70 to 80, pickpocket watchmen for another 364,529gp, and 9,113 bread. I believe they based these numbers on how many you need for the next level. At level 80, they told me to pickpocket Paladins to make 100,000gp in an hour. But be sure to bring lots of food. Again, it seems like a lot of work for the money, but if you're really dedicated, I suppose you could make a lot of quick cash.
High Alchemizing, or High Alching to some, can be a great money making technique. You have to have level 55 magic to be able to do it, f you have a high enough fletching level, I would suggest making magic bows. One magic Longbow goes for 1,536gp in high alchemy. So think about if you had 100 of them! That's like 153,600gp! Or think about if you had 1000 of them, 1,536,000gp! So, as you can see, fleching + magic = Gold pieces, and a lot of them. Of course, there are other things you could alch to make some money, such as Steel Platemail, which goes for 1,200gp each. Or a Magic Shortbow, that is priced at 960gp. If you need help getting your magic up, I suggest reading this article; How to level your magic fast.
I have heard many things on Mining. For some, it's just a simple thing that plays a very small role in their lives, but others say that everyone should have at least 40 mining. They say to mine 4,731 coal for level 60 mining, and then mine another 59,598 coal to get level 85 mining. When you get level 85 mining, go mine rune in the wilderness and sell for 10,000 to 15,000 gp each. Again, this is a long and hard process, but if you're dedicated the money pay out can be quite a bit.
Now I'm not even going to mention Smithing, Fishing, or RuneCrafting, because these are all great ways of making money, and I don't believe they need explaining.
If you want to kill monsters for a living, I suggest killing Blue Dragons (level 111), Fire Giants (level 86), Black Dragons (level 227), and King Black Dragons (level 276). They all have really great drops. And if you have the stats to fight them, why not?
One of my personal favorite money making ways, I call Item Trading. It's basically like bartering.
You have full steel; you trade that for a mithril plate body and a steel long sword. You trade the long sword for a mithril scimitar. You trade that scimitar for some mithril legs. Then you trade those legs for another mithril plate body. Then you trade that for some mithril legs and a full helm. Then bam, full mith from full steel. It can take a long time to find someone that has something worth trading for, but if you kept trading on and on, you might end up with full rune!
I hope you will try some of these methods, especially the merchanting one. It has gotten me a lot of items in my days. So why not share the wealth eh? Happy playing! - widdop5, on 07/09/2008, -0/+0Making money in Runescape
There are several ways of making money one Runescape. To you, some of these ways may be fun to you and others might not be fun. Members Only
Picking Up Flax:
1. Absolutely nothing is needed to be able to pick up flax. Go over to Camelot and go down to the Flax area where there's only flax there and start picking them up. Keep going back and forth to the bank.
(Area where you can find flax to pick up.)
2. Make sure your inventory is empty to make it quicker to get 1,000 flax. Once you have collected 1,000 flax, then go to the same bank which is nearby the flax area and sell your flax's for 100 gold coins each. A total of 100k is earned for just picking up some flax.
Spinning Flax into Bow Strings:
You must have a crafting level of 10 in order to spin flax. If you have a crafting level of 10, then you can start off by either purchasing 1k flax from someone or by picking them up. Buying these will make you save more time and at the same time still make profits. The profits are less though. Simply once you have your flax take them to the spinning wheel and spin them. Go back and forth doing this and after a few trips, you will be completed. Sell your bow strings for 180-200 each, ending you up with 180-200k profits. If you had bought the flax, then your profit will be 80-100k for spinning them.
Woodcutting (Maples):
1. Get a woodcutting level of 45 to cut maples.
2. Go down to the Camelot which has maple trees right across from it. These trees are very close to the bank so it won't take long to walk to the bank.
3. Cut 1,000 maple logs and sell them to other members for 80-100 each. Total will be 80k-100k for all of them!
Woodcutting (Magics):
1. To be able to start cutting magics, you will need a level of 75 which is the highest to cut any tree.
2. Take a rune axe and start cutting them. You can get bored off of cutting as it takes longer than yews to cut.
3. Cut 1,000 magic logs and sell them. Each log is worth 1k! That's a lot of money.
4. Once completed sell them at the bank to other members and earn 1,000,000 Gold coins!
Members/Non Members
Woodcutting (Willows):
1. Get a woodcutting level of 30 to cut willows.
2. Go down to Lumbridge and cut 1,000 willow logs. The bank is right next to you so this makes it quick and easy to store them up.
3. Once you have 1,000 willow logs, then go ahead and sell them for 30 coins each and easily get 30k gold!
Woodcutting (Yews):
1. After cutting so many logs and having your woodcutting level become 60, you can now cut Yew logs!
2. Get a rune axe and find somewhere where there is a Yew tree that has a bank right next to it to make the traveling time shorter.
3. Start cutting Yew trees to get some logs. You will need to collect a about 3,500 of them.
4. Once completed, take all these logs to the bank and sell them to the other members. You can sell all these for 1,000,000 gold coins! Yea, that is a lot of zeros.
Steel Bars:
1. Steel bars are used to make things such as armour. You are going to have a minimum of a mining level of 30 to be able to mine iron ores and coal.|
2. Start out by mining 2,000 coal since this is the hardest part. Once done with this, go ahead and start cutting 1,000 iron ores.
3. Take your iron ores and coal to the furnace and smelt them into steel bars. When completed, you should have a total of 1,000 steel bars.
4. Head over to a bank in Falador and sell each steel bar for 500 coins each! You should have a total of 500k when you sell all of them.
Combat:
There are plenty of different ways to make money by combat since there are a ton of things to fight. Try fighting the monsters that drops good items and then resell these items. Also, sell when you have a lot of that items. If you are fighting wizards and you keep getting runes, then keep fighting until you have about 500-1,000 runes of each. This will not only benefit you in getting more money but also in your combat levels also.
Mining Iron Ores:
1. Locate the iron rocks in Varrock and start mining them.
2. Mine as much as 1,000 iron ores. This may take time but it's worth it at the end.
3. When your done, take them to one of the bank in Varrock and sell them for 50 gold coins each bringing you a total of 50,000 gold once sold.
Collecting Seeds:
1. Take an axe and find willow or yew trees. You can pick others but these are more effective when looking for seeds.
2. Now keep cutting trees and you will find out that bird nests usually falls out of the trees.
3. Store all you're logs and seeds in the bank. Once you have a lot of them, then sell them all. Seeds are worth a lot so search before you actually sell them to make full profits.
4. Not only will you make money from the seeds but also in the logs too.
(Seeds are worth around 1k-200k each.)
Making Armour:
1. Create as much bars as you can of any kind. The best possible that you can make would always be the best one to create.
2. Take them to Anvil and smith you're bars into armour. Trying making the armours in sets so that it can be easier to sell to people.
3. The prices will vary depending on what kind of armour you make, but if you do make a lot of sets then you can end up with a good junk of money.
These are a few ways that you can make money on Runescape when you are not a member. If you are a member, then you can read part two of this article for ways to make money on a members world.
Second Article (Real Money)
You see a lot of sites selling Runescape gold on the Internet nowadays. It opens up a lot of opportunities for players too, instead of players grinding and using a lot of time making gold pieces in-game to buy the next best weapon, or armour, they could just buy gold online – much quicker, much more efficient.
This also opens up opportunities to players to make some real cash too.
These sites also buy gold pieces of players, so if you find a way of making a lot of gold pieces, then you could sell them to these sites and make some profit. Merchanting is a quick and easy way of making money (check our merchanting guide), but it does require some initial investment.
Runescape gold sites normally buy gold pieces in millions, from around $2.99+ per million. This sounds like rubbish money for a million gold pieces, but it’s actually pretty easy to make a lot of gold once you reach your few hundred thousand gold pieces.
Not only to these Runescape gold sites buy gold pieces, but they also buy characters as well. If you have a character that is of a high level in a lot of skills, then you could probably get a decent price for it on one of these sites. The best thing to do is offer your character for sale, and see which site will offer the most for it. The problem with this is selling your character like this is actually against Runescape’s TOS, so they can ban you for it.
I would recommend you use merchanting in order to make a lot of GP (when I say a lot, I mean in the hundred millions), then sell around half of it to the Runescape gold sites, and then use the other half to make more money again through merchanting.
If you get it right, you can actually make quite a bit out of this method, but mastering merchanting can be a little tricky at times. Sometimes, you can’t find the item you want at the right price, or no one buys your items at the price you set for a long while – don’t worry, tweak your sales prices until you get the right amount where you can easily buy and sell items when merchanting.
One tip when making money in Runescape is to be wary when selling your gold to people. Always find a reputable Runescape gold merchant before selling to them.
Have patience and good luck in your money-making adventures! - widdop5, on 07/09/2008, -0/+0Runescape Millions
Are you out looking for great Runescape money making tips? Well, I'm sure you have come across some things that are not quite, what you were after. Fear not, for your quest has come to an end. In my years of playing, I have seen many things. I've seen Runescape evolve, I have seen prices go up and down like a roller coaster, and of course, I have learned many techniques from many people along the road for different things. Because today your here for that chance at Runescape Millions, I think it's only appropriate to give the tips that the big shots use.
You know who I'm talking about. That guy hanging by the bank showing off his dragon armor. No, these are not just rumored glitches that boost your money to millions, and no, they are not hacks. The secret to Runescape Millions is hard work, and patience. Simple, isn't it?
When I had first become interested in getting a lot of money, I learned all about cowhides. It's quick and easy. Grab a sword and head to the cows by Lumbridge. Kill as many as you need for a full inventory, and bank them in the desert. (Its much easier if you have done the Prince Ali Rescue quest and can get through it for free, if not I suggest walking to the Lumbridge bank, which is a little further.) After you get a couple hundred, stand in the desert bank and sell them. The last time I sold them it was around 150gp each, I am not sure how much they are now, I suggest checking the Grand Exchange. If you have a thousand cow hides, and sold them at 150gp each, you would get around 150,000gp. This was great money, and if you kept it up you could get a good million out of it.
I have also heard a good deal about flax. It's easy to get, and you can make quite a bit of cash from it. It's only about 3gp to sell to stores or to alch, but if you sell it to players, you can get around 100gp per flax. This can get quite a bit of cash in your pocket when you get in the 1000s. If you got 10,000 flax, and sold them at 100gp a piece, you would have your first million right there. It of course will take quite a long time, but if you really want Runescape Millions, its going to take time.
If you're a good miner and smither, then I suggest you try out making Steel Bars. These go for about 683gp a piece at minimum price in the Grand Exchange. (Prices go up and down almost daily.) Therefore, if you were to make 500 Steel Bars, you would get something around 341,000gp. Make 1000 Steel Bars and get around 683,000gp! This is a money making secret I have only heard by one person, and he certainly had the right idea. If you were to sell 500 bars at the maximum Grand exchange price, which is 753gp, you would get a little around 376,500gp. Ok, enough about Steel Bars, ha-ha.
Ah yes, coal. It is such an over populated money making skill, that the prices are only around 200gp an ore. So I suggest you take that coal and make Steel Bars. Just a little more effort gets you a lot more in return.
If you have a mining level of 85 or higher, mining Runite ore is the best thing for you. Don't worry about loosing that rune pickaxe in the wilderness! Unlike the rumors tell you, there are quite a few more places that you can mine it. There are two rocks in the Heroes Guild, one inside the Lava Maze, there are some in the Mines east of Jastizo, in the cave that leads to the Light Temple, and of course the Wilderness. You can also get them from Rock Golems in random events. Its around 12,000gp an ore if selling to a person.
Sell 100 Runite ores, and you have about 1,200,000gp. Sell 1000 Runite ores... and you get something like a whopping 120,000,000! Of course mining 1000 Runite ores would take a long time, the reward is mighty.
Now that you have learned a little on Runescape Millions, why not get out there and make some? Ha-ha, Happy Playing! - widdop5, on 07/09/2008, -0/+0Runescape Economy
Economy is really complex on Runescape. Runescape gives you varieties of ways to make money. You also learn things that link to real life from the game. It is easier to make money on P2P servers rather than F2p servers for many reasons. On P2P servers, you have a variety of skills and areas to help you. On F2P servers, you are short of some major skills, and armor. You can make money while raising your skills. Or you can make money the easy way. To become the best in Runescape you’ll have to go through both ways. You’ll learn all about it in this article.
Leveling Up
The first way is getting money from leveling up. People train all day and rely on their money by drops. Drops can range from items worth 1 gold to items worth millions of gold. That way is time consuming and is all based on luck. Drops such as dragon armor can turn you from a poor character to a rich one. Fighting in the Barrows can make you strong and rich. Barrows armor is worth a lot of gold, and can help you defeat your enemies that come along your path. A helpful skill for this way of becoming rich would be the Slayer skill. The higher your slayer, the more of a chance you have of getting rare weapons and armor. At 65 slayer you can fight Dust Devils. Dust Devils have a chance of dropping a Dragon chain when you die. Dragon chains usually go for 10-12m. You would get the benefits of leveling up and getting stronger, but would not have the benefits of making quick and easy money.
Alchemy
A helpful skill in making money on runescape is magic. Alchemy is a great tool for money making. I’ve personally made over 30m gold by alchemy. Some skills that you will need or that will improve are crafting, magic, woodcutting, runecrafting, and fletching. What you do is get your woodcutting to 75 and start chopping at magic trees. Magic tree spots are hard to find with no people, but a real decent spot is southwest of Lletya. There isn’t many people there due to the poisonous traps and monsters in the area. It is a great spot for people over level 60. You get the magic logs and you fletch them into magic long bows. The next part gets boring, but is a necessity. You pick flax from an area such as the seers village. You string the flax in the same village. Now, you string the longbows. You will need a fire staff and nature runes for the next part. If you make your own runes then you will make 1.5m, but if you buy the nature runes then you will make a lot less gold. If you choose this way, then you will raise a lot of skills, and make a lot of money at the same time. It is very time consuming, but worth it at the end.
Fishing and Cooking
A good skill to work on in Runescape is fishing. Fishing is a great and easy way to make money. You should fish from fishing level 1-40 and use the fish you get for later use. You can cook those fish later on and use it for food when training. Once you hit level 40 fishing, then you should fish for lobsters. Lobsters sell for a lot of gold on F2P servers because it is the best level of fish that recovers hp fast. People buy lobsters to go pvp or just to train, so you are guaranteed a sell. Once you hit level 76 fishing, then you can fish for sharks at the fishing guild of Catherby. Fishing for sharks can be a win lose situation. Cooking sharks can either make you happy or make you punch a hole in your wall. Until you hit 99 cooking, the outcome of cooking sharks will most likely be 3 to 1 being burnt. Sharks are a good way to make money nonetheless because most players buy sharks uncooked to level their cooking.
Runecrafting
Runecrafting is a great skill to use for your advantage in Runescape. Runecrafting needs patience and cooperation. Mining the rune essence is the easiest way to get started. Once you have the rune essence go to an alter and make the runes. The air alter is the easiest to level up. Make your way up to level 44 runecrafting. Then you should start making nature runes. Nature runes sell for a decent amount of gold due to the want for alchemy. You can make a decent amount of money from this but it will be a back breaking task.
Mining and Smithing
The slowest way to make money is mining ores and smelting. All you need is a pickaxe, and time. You can mine everywhere and anywhere. Selling steel bars is a great way to make money. Selling coal ores is a lot faster, and a little less time consuming. The outcome will most likely come out the same.
I hope these tips will help you become a successful runescape player. And again, there are many ways of making money on Runescape with all the varieties of skills, and items. The ways I have talked about in this article are ways of making money while furthering your skills on Runescape. - bettylove2008, on 07/11/2008, -0/+0Quest Walkthroughs

Over the past year, a lot of members stopped paying their membership fee because of the removal of Pk in Wilderness and unbalance trade, people think that these updates stopped them from getting “free” items and money in the wilderness and help friend of theirs by giving them a lot of money item. Jagex lost millions of dollars and stopped countless riots in Runescape, the company can barely run their business with the membership fee players paid, so they begin to think an idea that will let them gain more money, so they begin to think an idea that will give them more money, way more than they gain right now, so this update was made, it helped Jagex society to make more money than before but made new Runescape players to pay more money to enjoy the things only they deserve to enjoy. - conangoldvip, on 07/11/2008, -0/+0VERY GOODS
