- EvilDr.X, on 10/12/2007, -4/+95Not loading at all for me. Guess I'll have to study the heart the old fashioned way and pull one out of a homeless guy.
- L4WL3RS34L, on 10/12/2007, -2/+59He's just trying to give some positive feedback, don't be such a smartass.
- macajemianuts, on 10/12/2007, -12/+67This is a great learning resource! Loads quickly, easy to use, instructive text, clean interface. Shows the outside and the inside of the heart with interactive animations.
- seventoes, on 10/12/2007, -1/+54No no no, its the heart.
- n8dawg87, on 10/12/2007, -5/+43Extremely realistic my ass!
- excession, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14It would be a great resource if it wasn't full of inaccuracies.
"Impure blood"? What on earth? Deoxygenated blood isn't impure. It's just low on oxygen. Using 'impure' will only confuse pupils about the true nature of the circulatory system.
Also why is "tricuspid" mentioned without also mentioning "bicuspid"? These are the correct names for the heart valves, and are taught (at least in the UK) from an early age.
-james - rawM3TAL, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15This crap goes quicker than blinged out cabbage.
- thekronz, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15This loads just as fast as Windows 98.
- macbookpromat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Try the real thing, dissection is so much fun!
- kingkilr, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11What the hell is your definition of "loads quickly"?
- Ramble, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7The left ventricle (The one pumping blood around the body) has a much thicker wall to generate much higher pressures to force it all around the body.
The right ventricle doesn't have this because it's only going to the lungs and high blood pressure through there would force it out and you'd drown in your own blood. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8My heart felt weird after looking at this. It just looks so complex and to think it suddenly might stop... I worry too much.
- Brss45, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8woot.
AP Bio Test, here I come!!! - jackcall, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Yes, yes you were
- Frisbinator, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8This really is a great resource. I'm a student, and this is probably the best resource for learning about the heart that I've ever found.
- borninda818, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7no duggmirror...i cry
btw as of right now it works...just very very slow - L4WL3RS34L, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7...And the Digg Effect strikes again.
- kidd3ckz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5GO RECESS!
- bizchris, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Was I the only one who tried flying into the ventricles, hoping there would be other effects?
- Flummoxer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The myocardium of the left ventricle is too thin compared to that of the right.
- DonRoberto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3How do I perform the Healing Touch?
- abdeviation, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4why is the ventricle pumping to the lungs so much bigger than the ventricle pumping to the aorta? is that thing wrong or am i tripping?
- SlayerKid99, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3This thing sucks... you can't poke it or anything!
- jsls, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4really, really bad!!!
- goffy59, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Wasn't what I expected, but seems like a good resource like what everyone was saying. I wish they would let you do more with it and make it look more realistic.
- InetRoadkill, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Well I was hoping for a playable Ann and Nancy Wilson model.
- evanstapler, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I thought I would get to play with it! I wanted to poke it with a stick... rotating is not fun.
- DumbKid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I thought that too. Only I thought you would be able to to stab it or scalpel it out of a man's chest or something. I think the word "play" was a little bit misleading for those of us who are completely insane.
- NoctemSaiyaku, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3How many people made the heart beat sound for themselves?
- slupa08, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It was a good basic model, but lacking a great deal of detail, especially pertaining to the internal anatomy in the atria and ventricles. It was nice to see the coronary arteries described somewhat (still lacking detail)...they are so important clinically. So take a look at it, but don't trust it if you are taking a serious anatomy course. I just finished finished gross anatomy and believe me there is quite a bit more to the heart than what is presented in that diagram.
- Time4SumWupAzz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1EDUCATIONAL and fun!!
http://wupazz2.blogspot.com/ - Jeddycakes, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1nice pump action
(juvenile snigger) - supermajic, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6"Play with an extremely realistic 3D human heart online!"
was i the only one thinking that this was a physics demonstration or something.. that lets you throw a heart against a wall or something? - guymal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Crashes my Flock every time I click on that link
- fac3less, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Science leads me to believe in God, how.. backwards.
Yet just seeing how complex how bodies really are leaves me to wonder how we would function without a wonderful, amazing creator.
Someone built this little network inside me. Or designed it at least. A single sperm and egg did the rest ;) - qster, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1http://www.specialdefects.com/v2/?heart
That's what I call realistic - julian02392, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Is this not working for anyone else?
EDIT: FINALLY it works, geeze that took long... - impedance101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1True, i so wish this website existed in 7th grade,
would have made bio a lot easier - SilverBack101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I wonder it's all nice and everything but is it sacraficial friendly? Cause I ran out of my goat hearts and could use an alternative at the moment.
- jmkiii, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"It's only a model."
- nathanwalker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There is a reason that there is not a signature option for comments.
- Nathan - vanarothiel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This animation is so much better.
- murdockat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1it probably appears that way in the illustration because it is being drawn in anatomical position. in this position, the right ventricle is in front of most of the left ventricle. but you are correct, the left ventricle is much bigger than the right ventricle.
- glomgold, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i'm learnding!
- StormCommander, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i want to poke it
- ffenton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0here is another good 3D heart for learning

another heart with ventricular fibrillation

and more information that you may care for
http://arrhythmia.hofstra.edu/java/applets.html - mheats99, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0pretty cool
http://tinyurl.com/2ptvd8 - deadpixel621, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If that thing is "extremely realistic", I sure as hell hope mine doesn't look at all like that.
- knox1234, on 05/03/2008, -0/+0For realistic heart check out visible body
- knox1234, on 05/03/2008, -0/+0It's cool, but Visible Body is more realistic and you can play with the whole human body. Only down side is it only runs in IE and on a PC
