- diggstown, on 10/11/2007, -8/+294And thus begins another pissing contest.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -18/+221I can type 09 F9 11 02 9D 74 E3 5B D8 41 56 C5 63 56 88 C0 really fast.

No one cares about the temperature of your room or your health status, do us all a favor and die. - TheTaoOfBill, on 10/11/2007, -15/+190I can type 80 words per minute
"80 words per minute" - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -3/+118I got 94 wpm, I'm blind, and I have a cat.
- Cerialthriller, on 10/11/2007, -5/+108i got 109 wpm and i have poison ivy covering my autistic hands which only have 3 fingers to begin with. pwned.
- JoshuaH, on 10/11/2007, -5/+94I got like over a bajillion points.
- Bahimiron, on 10/11/2007, -5/+93This is less a typing test than it is a reflex test.
- OneAndOnlySnob, on 10/11/2007, -0/+71This is a terrible typing test. You read ahead when you type to prepare yourself mentally for the next word. And the letters don't distract you and fly in your face, covering up the next word, as you type them.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+62I beat the end boss. It was a really hard word.
- cogitocogito, on 10/11/2007, -5/+63I wouldn't take the WPM stats from this too seriously.
There are many differences between this exercise and real world typing, such as:
1) Real world typing speed is heavily dependent on one's proficiency at typing common words. Tactile memory plays a huge role in this.
2) Punctuation is a critical component of typing skills.
3) Being given one word at a time doesn't allow one to buffer strings of words or sentences in memory. This too is a huge part of speed typing.
4) correcting errors quickly (backspace, etc.) needs to be tested as well - dvsbastard, on 10/11/2007, -2/+56Not bad, but without the requirement to hit the spacebar after every word, it just doesn't feel natural (and resulted in a fair few error keystrokes)...
- LordofShadows, on 10/11/2007, -2/+56Kind of hard to get a accurate wpm rating when you cant see the next word until you have to type it.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+46Isn't the whole of digg just one big pissing contest anyway?
- UNEXPLODEDduck, on 10/11/2007, -1/+38Is it wrong that when i went to start i had my fingers on a,w,d??
- Nimphious, on 10/11/2007, -0/+36In case you didn't notice, in Qwerty Warriors, Maybe is spelled "mabye". Confused the hell out of me for the ten seconds I spent furiously typing it in only to realize the dictionary writer was an illiterate douche-bag.
Nicely done. - *jooloop*, on 10/11/2007, -1/+36"000000.5 pico seconds"? is that like .5 pico seconds?
- KennMac, on 10/11/2007, -9/+40"New high score", is that bad? What does that mean? Did I break it?
- cookiebearo, on 10/11/2007, -0/+27after i heard how cool the "wrong" noise was, i stopped typing the correct letters and started using it as a drum machine
- cogit0, on 10/11/2007, -1/+24A good typing speed test site:
http://www.typingtest.com/
Doesn't test random word typing, but instead uses given passages that must be typed as fast and accurately as possible.
Which test is more applicable to real-world functionality? - zyl0x, on 10/11/2007, -5/+26"Error Could not Load Data"
Looks like a lot of fun.. - anonatron, on 10/11/2007, -2/+20@coasters2k
I had to digg you down for actually recommending that someone should watch MTV. - guchdog, on 10/11/2007, -3/+21I personally like http://www.freewebarcade.com/game/qwerty-warriors/ better.
- swordedge, on 10/11/2007, -1/+17you are NOT slow, this game is counterintuitive. And no, I didn't see that long word there. In today's world, I really thing that backing up and correcting your noticed mistakes should be part of the test, not beeping at you.
- swordedge, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16I also type phrases and sentences. Most of the words they use are NOT everyday ones so I don't easily spell them. Very ditto on the space bar. This is more unnatural then typershark.
Now, make one where it ignores your mistakes to the end, allows you to correct those mistakes, and you type complete sentences... then we are talking. - MikeOSX, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13Mavis Beacon, eat your heart out.
- trogdoor, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12"I really thing that backing up and correcting your noticed mistakes should be part of the test"
Oh the irony. - projjalc, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9You mean a word processor?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9With all the unusual words, I find the bottleneck is mentally processing the word's spelling, not one's physical typing speed. Seasoned typers do not simply strike each successive key by visual rote - they rely on the "muscle memory" of their fingers to 'remember' the position of the correct keys. This test seems to sabotage that skill, which is part of what I presume it is supposed to be testing. I scored 53 WPM on this test, yet while writing this comment, I can type out the words almost as fast as I think of them.
Therefore, buried as inaccurate and lame. - Dycacian, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8You need to play "Typing of the Dead". That is some fun typing.
- CharlesMay, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9"Taking a moment to read each word can avoid can help reduce typing mistakes."
Looks like they could take a few pointers from their own advice. - allisonaxe, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6The random-word thing, in addition to the fact that it only shows one word at a time, is severely slowing me down. Under normal circumstances, i've been tested at 92 wpm copying paragraphs, however, my highest score here with random words is in the range of 45 wpm, and frankly, i blame the pause between finishing each word and the next appearing.
My lowest score was on the test where only one letter appeared at a time: closer to 19 wpm on that one.
http://labs.jphantom.com/wpm Try this test, it'll give you a better reading on typing efficiency in a more real-world situation. - sully213, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Am I the only one who read the description as "Fingering is a fun little typing game...."
Maybe I'm just a sick perv ;) - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Was it just me or was trying to sell me the Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000?
- Telxon, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Old habits die hard..... ;)
- illogicz, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Haha, I got the highest score possible. Get yours too:
http://www.jonmiles.co.uk/flash/addscore.php?name=YOURNAMEHERE&score=2147483646 - bovester, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6Sorry, a mirror of How Fast Can You Type? is not available
Nice job buddy - dungbeetle, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6Typing "Data cannot be loaded" didn't take very long at all. I guess I'm a pretty good typist.
- SlicerDicer, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5one hundred and twenty eight! one hundred and TWENTY EIGHT!! mega bytes I cannot crash this thing if I tried!
- mcclelland, on 10/11/2007, -3/+7why are people digging this while it's down?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+495 wpm
...I HAVE NO HANDS, my room is 89.6779 degrees Fahrenheit, and I fought off ninjas with toenail clippers. - MikeWanDo, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I cannot express how much better this game would be if the letters didn't fly into my face thus preventing me from seeing what I'm supposed to be typing/what I've missed. It makes the difference of whole seconds just to figure out what the last few letters are (this is especially bad if you fly through the middle of a long word and then want to see the end of it).
- olego, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I'm personally a fan of http://www.typera.tk
- WarpFox, on 10/11/2007, -21/+24I scored over NINE THOUSAAAAAAAAAND
- desmondregan, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3LMFAO like every1 in the highscores hacked it lol
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Dear Fingerjig,
Your lame-ass, 80-frame, fade transitions are ***** annoying. Typing may be your forté, but Adobe Flash certainly is not.
Sincerely,
Merciful - spect3r, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3http://www.google.com/search?source=ig&hl=en&q=free+typing+test&btnG=Google+Search
There are literally thousands of typing tests out there.... this one isn't unique. - roominator, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2the effect the letters make makes me feel drunk...
- L33tmaster, on 10/11/2007, -0/+21,856,000... i hate how the letters fly at you, it caused me to make a lot of errors on words i was unfamiliar with since it obscures your view.
- xxNIRVANAxx, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2you cheated! It types that for you!
