- Phyltre, on 10/12/2007, -3/+20Thing's more steel than wood now, anyways...
- teddyrux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17The mom had a slave math student cooped up in a room attached to a shocking machine? He's still there...We just walked away...wtf?!?
- RCcola159, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17Nice game, heres a walkthrough, i needed it :(
http://www.freegamesnews.com/en/?p=1358 - joebus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15How about you look in the topic it was posted under. If you don't like seeing these kinds of stories, then filter your profile so we don't have to listen to you bitch and moan.
- joeshlub, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16Same here. I'm trying to study and I'm equally distracted by 'the IT crowd' and this game... Seems like I'm *****...
- dchaosdx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12yeah, the storyline ranks up there with lord of the rings, batman, and a few others? they should make a movie trilogy out of this. it would rival star wars. and think of the marketing and the merchandise. they could even have a toy boxing ring with the mother and the daughter and when the daughter punches the mom, her head pops off!
- thiagoleon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14I hate when I can't use logic or common sense to solve riddles... for example, using the lighter in the dark room.
- robphillips, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13then you won't want to play the first one.. aha
http://www.gamingdelight.com/games/gateway.php - NanoStuff, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15Ok, I'm stuck on the part with the TV. You know, the first part.
- jo3design, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9and judging from your past 2 comments, welcome to the majority!
- weasler7, on 10/12/2007, -5/+14It's nice... I got tests to study for... must resist distraction...
- NanoStuff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Picture that in real life. Sticking mirrors in toilets, turning on the tv, going back to stick some other item in the toilet, then going back to turn on the TV, then sticking the mirror in the VCR and clicking eject repetitively, all the while convinced that you're accomplishing something. It would make the compulsive-obsessive nervous.
- NanoStuff, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9You're right. I'm gonna write a brute force script to get the cabinet passkey.
- MichaelDoherty, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10For those of you who are stuck, here's a walkthrough I wrote for gateway ii:
http://gamesontheweb.blogspot.com/2007/03/gateway-ii-walkthrough.html - lippyjka, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Damn! Thought they were gonna have robot sex at the end! ;(
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7That speaker noise was a nice touch ..I hope
- sonic7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8For those who have actually finished it, (for example, me) it might not look like it at the start, it's actually one of the best storylines ever. Seriously, a lot of thought must have gone into this game and it's amazing.
- jo3design, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8just finished the game. ... feel... ...so... ...depressed...
- Agent_M, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6That telescope stage was brilliant. I was so creeped out by it that I lost my puzzle solving skills for a bit. Nice.
- brodie7838, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6This game kind of creeps me out....
- Mesach, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Anyone else think that if the dev was a male, that he takes issue with his girlfriend/wife's mother, or if its a girl... maybe she feels trapped?
- goldfenix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I'd beg to differ. While I thought the first game in the series (linked below in these comments) was a bit bland, this one has a rather nice feel to it. Despite the simplistic character models and dialog, it had that air of creepiness/voyeurism that made the whole bits of puzzle rather eerie and somewhat disturbing.
I would love to see more of these types of games by this team in the future.
(As a side note, I was very amused in the credits to see that some sounds were borrowed from System Shock 2 and Thief.) - ahawks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4how about notpr0n? http://www.deathball.net/notpron/
I still haven't finished that one. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Good game.
Played to completion.
I like. - omgomgomg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4i'm running all the water in sink, flushing toilets, and walking around with power cords.. then combing that power cord with the hand mirror. Final Fantasy pwned.
only a chocobo would make this experience complete - holyskeleton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3thanks for the walk through.
- Eth4n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Actually if you look at the credits they're mostly lifted from System Shock 2 and Thief.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Okay, usually I'm decent at these games but the logic in this one just doesn't seem to suit me.
- mmgreenmms, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I seriously thought my cell phone was about to ring when that laura girl picked up the phone. geez.
- KiSA, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2rather than trying to remember which panel lights which, just remember that each one lights the same panels each time meaning just hit the same panel twice and the ones lit up will go dark again. 121234345656
and I believe that it is the second tape - anagoge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Hint: It's not the first thing you should be doing.
- vajra918, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3digging ewerdna down, not because the comment was bad, but because it should be collapsed by default (spoiler).
- sphereskr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2did anyone else fell like this had a ring feel to it
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If your items disappear, it means you don't need them anymore
- Aninhumer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3^^^ Spoiler ^^^
- Roguecop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Very good. Most of the puzzles were logical. The 'torture' math puzzle was funny. Only problem for me, it seems to me that they lifted the music and sound effects straight out of Myst...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This one makes sense, not like the one with balls and wrinkled pieces of paper.
It is nice that is has a storyline. - jinchoung, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1wow neat! reminds me of how good adventure games can be! but dang, it took a while for me to nail that sequence at the end! good stuff... kinda soapy story but good stuff. oh and it has great STRUCTURE... you know from the beginning what the scope of the game will be. you have 4 doors, you have 9 slots on the tv... really well thought out.
- eridius, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Actually, when I picked up the first tape, both the tape and mirror disappeared. I restarted, and made sure to save often the second time but didn't have it happen again.
- brahma103, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1how do you keep that stupid red path dark after you get the first tape?
- HMTKSteve, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think I still have that game on floppy disks...
- therenee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1As for the tape number two...it didn't light up for me until I went back almost through the door (I was giving up until that happenend :) )
- GenericNumber1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Through the whole torture part I couldn't stop thinking of the Milgram Experiment -shiver- I was hurting people because I was ordered to by the game's rules!
- eridius, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"I hate when I can't use logic or common sense to solve riddles... for example, using the lighter in the dark room"
But the problem wasn't that the room was dark. - Rostichenburg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That was a good game.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I recommend Day of the Tentacle :D
- GenericNumber1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Serious?? CRAP! I actually put them in order of what the story was... got lucky with 3&4s placement, they weren't a strict part of the storyline....
- vajra918, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ya, the sequence had me confused too... until i noticed each tape has a date-stamp...
