the html file is actually sent with a gif extension. The js applet taps into my isight webcam, and determines when my eyes move. It then asynchronously loads a separate picture from the server, slightly shifted. This is why the illusion stops when you stare at a single spot.

C'mon, not everybody has seen everything the internet has to offer. Just because you have seen something doesn't mean it's not new to someone else. I thought this illusion was great...it's my background now and it really trips people out.
So, be happy. What's more frustrating than "old" stuff is the constant ranting with your messages here. If you don't like something, don't digg it and don't respond here. Consider not being annoying in the future. Well, consider it, then actually decide to not be annoying. Please.
