Can you determine what the secret word is?

garyc.wtf.la:3232 — Use both your logic and vocabulary skills to figure out what the secret word is. You compete with all players to be the first to correctly guess the word. The system provides feedback for every guess by showing the 10 most recent and 10 best guesses made by all players.

      1) A slightly nicer interface. Not flash, but Times Roman is very 1995.
      2) AJAX/XMLRPCRequests, so that updates can happen on a regular basis... Maybe every 5 seconds or so?
      3) To split people up into rooms of 10 or so, so that the game doesn't become overloaded
      and probably:
      4) To limit the number of people playing to 100 or so, so that the server doesn't become overloaded.

      I can see that 2 and 3 are sacrificed so that there can be so many people playing at once. If you sit there thinking for too long you don't have a sense of how frantic the guessing is, or even if someone has already won.

    high and tree have no letters in common... how can they both have a correct letter in a correct position?

It didn't crash the server but goddamn it so many people playing makes it impossible to keep up with word changes. Thank god I got one.. of course the word was seed and it was my first guess because I was lucky enough to refresh the page when "seel" and sexy where the top two choices. I might come back after the storm but even text-twist is more fun than this..

    ....err, in this example they share the letter "c", unless I somehow missed the concept.
