- DevinWatson, on 04/28/2009, -2/+76Every NES game : http://www.virtualnes.com/
More NES, SNES, Game Boy, Sega, C64 : http://nintendo8.com/ - Velenne, on 04/28/2009, -2/+51Only 3/5 difficulty for Dragon's Lair!? I don't think I ever got past the damn snake...
Dugg for Digg Dugg.
edit: AND FOR ALL BEING ON ONE PAGE! - RuthlessPirate, on 04/29/2009, -0/+44Dammit, this story just had to pop up right when I'm trying to study for finals.
- IvenomI, on 04/28/2009, -2/+16You have Super Pitfall, but not regular Pitfall.
There is something wrong with you.
Dugg for Zelda. - swicepick, on 04/29/2009, -0/+14YES. You have no idea how happy I am that Burgertime is on this list.
- lololol1, on 04/29/2009, -2/+14Dugg for Dig Dug
- Joshmesic, on 04/29/2009, -1/+13I saw 3/5 difficulty for Contra and stopped.
- jamangold, on 04/29/2009, -0/+10The link for Lunar Lander led to some crappy remake. Here's a link that's faithful to the original:
http://sebleedelisle.com/games/moonlander/
I was amused on how they rated the difficulty for Mega Man. 2/5. Did anyone find playing the original Mega Man a breeze?
Edit: The release date for Space Invaders is off by 2 years - it came out in 1978, not 1980. - enkideridu, on 05/15/2009, -0/+8how do you play 1941: counter attack? I can't find where the applet is in the pages they link to, just descriptions
- positron, on 04/29/2009, -1/+9Try a different browser. What are you, retarded?
- groundwavemed, on 04/28/2009, -2/+9Wait, you don't still have a Nintendo?
- billraydrums, on 04/29/2009, -0/+7mame32 FTW

http://mameosx.sourceforge.net/ - inactive, on 04/29/2009, -0/+7Alley Cat is weird. They make it seem like it is the real Alley Cat but when you click on it, it is a REALLY crappy different game altogether. Most are also NES ports even though they make it seem like it is the original arcade. And as good as the NES is, they were NOT like the arcade. What a huge disappointment Dragon's Lair was.
I wil stick with MAME thank you. - DefaultGen, on 04/29/2009, -1/+8If you're going to pirate old games, you might as well download the roms to play them full screen, with controller support, video filters, etc. The "convenience" of playing them in a browser is short lived.
- falstaff, on 04/29/2009, -0/+6Well, those ratings are annoyingly random.
1942 and later get the same uniqueness score as the original?
Arkanoid gets a 4/5 for graphics?
Bubble Bobble is only a 2/5 on popularity?
Blaster Master had worse graphics than PONG??
Still, dugg for the games. - Spoomeister, on 04/29/2009, -0/+6All that's missing is Mr. Do, and I'd be set.
Kudos for all on one page. - Fatcheeseguy, on 04/29/2009, -0/+6/Bookmarked
- algaeturd, on 04/29/2009, -4/+9Really? You'd bury a single page of 95 FREE flash video games because they used the wrong ***** screen shot for ONE game that has 5 different versions?
Wow. Tough crowd.
Tough, SPOILED, kind of whiny crowd. - Elranzer, on 04/29/2009, -1/+6It's not a site with 95 free games. It's leeching off the other browser-emulator sites (which are leeching off Nintendo, to begin with).
- bobsbones, on 04/29/2009, -0/+5Dragons Lair: Graphics - 1/5
Wait, what? - crowbarred, on 04/29/2009, -0/+4Excellent list! .. but where is Elite [1984 BBC] Leisure Suit Larry and SWOS [Sensible World Of Soccer]?
- crossmr, on 04/29/2009, -1/+5I was going to mention this. I thought there were some sites, and even a facebook app that let you play like thousands of roms online. That pretty much makes this list obsolete.. I guess uh..good effort though.
The guy even links some games to nintendo 8... - Halsfield, on 04/29/2009, -0/+4I think the person doing the graphics ratings was asleep on the job. They say in the description that dragon's lair had the best graphics and it gets a 1/5 for graphics...yet duck hunt gets a 3/5. Well done fellas.
- maliath, on 04/29/2009, -0/+4and no Maniac Mansion: Day of the Tentacle
- ayeroxor, on 04/29/2009, -0/+4I remember an entire SUMMER devoted to Blaster Master! :D
- Fatcheeseguy, on 04/29/2009, -1/+5No Lode Runner..?
- gemlarin, on 04/29/2009, -0/+4That flash port of Gauntlet is horrible. Nothing like getting sucked into walls, and stuck ghosts everywhere.
Actionscript 101 teaches you to use >= stage.width and stage.height (or fixed x and y positioning) and -1 coordinate repositioning to avoid stage bounding issues with event listeners.
Anyone have a link to a better port? - s4g4n, on 04/29/2009, -0/+4Where are the Amiga games?
- TheKitchenSinkX, on 04/29/2009, -1/+4I see what you did there.
I think. - foomojive, on 04/29/2009, -1/+4Yeah I think I saw you in that popeye's video today too. First they run out of chicken so you can't feed your family and now this. What a horrible day.
- herbalizer, on 04/29/2009, -1/+4Zelda and Metroid both get 4/5 for fun but Popeye gets 5/5? Buried.
- cheesecake42, on 04/29/2009, -0/+3seriously? no sinistar?
- bigteebo, on 04/29/2009, -0/+3I had no idea "black tiger" set the foundations for RPGs today. What? I had no idea "gauntlet"(although an awesome game) set the way for MMORPGs. What crack is he smoking?
- schleufer, on 04/29/2009, -0/+3Wow, I totally read the title wrong. I was thinking oldschool games that you can play online (multiplayer). I think the first games I played multiplayer were Doom and the original GTA.
Anyway, I was hugely disappointed that the Dragons Lair mentioned in the article was the NES version, not the Arcade Version. - meleemaster500, on 04/29/2009, -1/+4these are all just **** links to online emulated nes games. all most all of which could be found at http://www.1980-games.com. this is just a list of random nes games he reviewed. even dragons lair was "presented" (in terms of the picture, and lack of nes reference) as the original good game. but the link instead went to the horribly crappy nes version of the game!!!
- Vexion, on 04/29/2009, -1/+4It's hard for me to see the argument that NES or SNES ROMs amount to true "piracy." The developers and publishers aren't losing out on a single cent of revenue because we play them today, because they're no longer producing and selling the games or systems. The only people who see lost sales are the secondary market: flea markets, garage sales, and EBay.
- speedyrev, on 04/29/2009, -0/+3I was wondering about that too. I remember you had to use the screen wrap to move back and forth to avoid the cannon.
- inactive, on 04/29/2009, -0/+3Frogger!
- KaiUno, on 04/29/2009, -0/+3... Just like it was when you popped in the NES version back in the day. Didn't look anything like the box. Or the arcade version.
- veled, on 04/29/2009, -0/+3I'd digg and comment but I'm too busy playing. Sorry Digg!
- BigAmish, on 04/29/2009, -0/+3Me too, that was my first real video game love. Here's a Flash version with sound:
http://mybabymonsters.com/collaborative_storytelli ... - crossmr, on 04/30/2009, -0/+2No..everything is not..and everything won't be at a rate of 1 ***** game a week. Do you know how many games were released on these systems? At one game a week, we'll be at this until the sun explodes.
Nintendo needs to get the lead out and starting dumping copious amounts of games online. All the roms are already prepared..its nothing for them to release the games for almost all of these systems at a rate of dozens or more a week. - 1ofMany, on 04/29/2009, -0/+2#79 Star Castle
"Remember, your ship can’t move, so you have to shoot down these missiles before they shoot you."
Uhh, no. Just use the arrow keys to move.... - LumberingOaf, on 04/29/2009, -0/+2I knew I couldn't be the only one who liked the Mr. Do series!
- jmdwinter, on 04/29/2009, -0/+2That is a terrible version of Alley Cat. Soooo disappointed!
- TheKitchenSinkX, on 04/29/2009, -1/+3Reviews are retarded.
Links are cool.
Also, I remembered reading somewhere about how reviewers should really stop reviewing classic games...I though it was on PA, but I can't seem to find it. - SpeedyThing, on 04/29/2009, -0/+2No Manic Miner of Jet Set Willy - instant fail
- Elranzer, on 04/29/2009, -0/+2Baby Pac-Man was awesome. It was a pinball./arcade hybrid.
In fact, I can't think of any other pinball/hybrid games out there. - doctressjulia, on 04/30/2009, -0/+2I prefer playing these games on the original systems (most of which I own and maintain) than any emulator. My Atari 2600 and my Super Nintendo are my favorites. :)
