- virtualonliner, on 12/15/2008, -0/+18Dugg for being all in one page.
- divinediva, on 12/15/2008, -0/+13Pretty amazing implementation.
- JKAL, on 12/15/2008, -0/+11Javascripting has come along way...
- nhayes, on 12/15/2008, -0/+7http://vaullee.com/ game i made a couple of months ago for ***** and giggles
- ChromaVita, on 12/15/2008, -0/+7He said the scripting's come a long way, not the script. The script is the same, but the implementation has evolved so much.
- inactive, on 12/15/2008, -0/+5Great lists.
- Murdats, on 12/15/2008, -0/+4you are correct, I misread that apparently
- fzammetti, on 12/15/2008, -1/+4Not to toot my own horn... no, check that... PRECISELY to toot my own horn:

Of course, I'd prefer you buy my books... got kids to feed you know!... but the fact is they are right there online, and the full source code can be found on the Apress web site. - inactive, on 12/15/2008, -1/+4Nice rundown, Dugg!

Video seems to only be available in the US... - theaceoffire, on 12/15/2008, -0/+2I made connect four:

Its nothing fancy, but it works and keeps track of the score. - bobasaurus, on 12/15/2008, -0/+2I actually wrote a game entirely in JavaScript/CSS for a class this semester. It was a top-down adventure game, with sprite animations, 2D zelda-style game cells (touch window border to move to neighboring cells), enemies that would attack, etc.
Sprite animations used CSS absolute positioning, top/left positions, and clipping rectangles. I stored the entire game world in a large XML document, describing cell background images, enemies, objects (trees, rocks, etc), and some extra info. - theaceoffire, on 12/15/2008, -0/+2A while... although I try to make my stuff easy to read in the code, and all on one page, so that people can see how I did it.
Other stuff:

Drag and Draw: http://theaceoffire.googlepages.com/DragAndDraw.v1 ...
Testing Cards: http://theaceoffire.googlepages.com/TestingCardJav ...
Number stuff: http://theaceoffire.googlepages.com/number.html
The magic Conch: http://theaceoffire.googlepages.com/shellv1.0.html
....
Yeah, its not great, but I had fun making them. - fzammetti, on 12/15/2008, -0/+2It'll always be an insect-looking spaceship in Flash Gordon to me but I digress...
When it was an acronym, like it originally was, AJAX wasn't so bad. It at least made sense... well, aside from the fact that XML, even early on, wasn't the primary data exchange format, but still, the idea wasn't bad, and hence the acronym wasn't either.
Now, though, it's no longer AJAX, it's now Ajax, and the meaning has changed... Ajax now pretty well means what RIA used to mean. I don't get it, I thought RIA was a perfectly good acronym on its own! I can only guess enough people thought Ajax looked better on a resume than RIA did because the HR drones didn't know what RIA meant, but they had seen Ajax floating around. - tgc1, on 12/15/2008, -0/+1How long did that take to make?
- Beerduck, on 12/15/2008, -0/+1Yeah, because Pong always produces vast amounts of ***** and giggles. Still dugg.
- theaceoffire, on 12/15/2008, -0/+1Feel free to check the source code. ^_^ I try to make it readable with lots of comments.
I also tend to take advantage of the fact that you can attach functions to variables. So if you make a function that has "this.pie=function(){}" in it, then anything you make with that function will have a function called pie.
So:
function fish(){
this.type="fish";
this.whatami=function(){alert("I am a "+this.type);}
}
var cat=new fish();
cat.whatami();//Alerts that cat is a fish. - mitch37, on 12/15/2008, -1/+2Ajax is a cleaning product, AJAX on the other hand.
- tgc1, on 12/15/2008, -0/+1Pretty neat concepts. You're quite a bit more advanced than me with this programming stuff. I'm just into the basic tinkering at the moment, no really advanced functions like some of the ones you've got cooking. I really want to get into some of the math functions so I can figure out how to do the cool stuff.
- phosphite, on 12/15/2008, -0/+1Dugg, some nice games on there too. Lemmings, Mario, Super Mario Kart? I know what I'm doing at work today! :D
- vikingofmars, on 12/15/2008, -0/+1I'm not sure how or why forumwarz didn't make this list, but it's wasily the best AJAX game i've ever played
- knuts12421, on 12/20/2008, -0/+0I made one of these too: http://wmdtb.com
I send JSON back and forth with maps instead of keeping everything in a big doc tho - mkamal, on 12/17/2008, -1/+1Dugg for Digg Attack game
- tgc1, on 12/15/2008, -1/+1The only thing I hate about Ajax is the name. They couldn't have thought up something else?
Why not AsyJavaScript? Or something else. Ajax? Every time I think about that I think about the cleaning product or the Norse name. - Selo, on 02/10/2009, -0/+0Not bad but flash will always be the browser game king
Examples:

http://www.boxing-games.net
http://www.truck-games.net - suiraCLAW, on 12/15/2008, -0/+0It doesn't show the true potential though. If you ask users to download a client (like 300 MB) you can develop light wight games with the quality of normal huge games while keeping the cross platform advantages of java.
Take a look at dofus arena: http://www.dofus-arena.com/en/
Pretty graphics, great gameplay (kinda like FFT online + balanced (izzy should take a look at this) + completely free + extreme versatility). Unless you don't like thinkwork... - Gamer4111, on 02/11/2009, -0/+0Some cool games there!

enjoy!
http://wowpvp-videos.blogspot.com/ - ChannelCat, on 12/15/2008, -6/+0Javascript games are fun as proof of concept, but I don't understand why anyone takes them seriously. Javascript is great for web apps, but turning a canvas / html on a page into a game with javascript seems like reinventing Flash, except less compatible, capable, and practical.

What is Digg?
