let alone the fact that when you shoot a bear, its unwise to aim for the head because the skull of a bear has a habit of making bullets ricochet off...

The two of us, a few boxes of .22 ammo and a couple of rifles. Granted, it was a prairie dogs, not ground squirrels, but if you hit them *just* right, they would back flip out of their hole.

If you click on "more properties", it shows you the EXIF data, the focal length was 600mm. That's pretty freaking long. (To those with point and shoot cameras, this would probably correspond to about 20x.)
