- EvilJelloMan, on 06/29/2008, -1/+20Why in the hell is there a picture of a DS on an article about tigers? My head asplode.
- DaFunk, on 06/29/2008, -0/+17Dug because of how broken the link is and for the unrelated pic of a Nintendo DS.
- allaboutdatiki, on 06/29/2008, -0/+14waaa, reuters doesn't want to show me the video ...
- punx, on 06/29/2008, -0/+13I live in Vegas, and I always have to hear ***** about Ziegfried and Roy "protecting" the endangered White Tiger. There is no such thing. It takes constant inbreeding to produce one, which doesn't happen in the wild. When it happens that one is born in the wild, it doesn't last long. It stands out like a beacon to any predator. Natural selection. Take a look at what MOST White Tigers look like. There is also the explanation as to why magicians and other performers use them. (And I'm anything but an animal rights person, just thought people should know the truth).

Insanely cute. - airhead, on 06/29/2008, -0/+7I was shocked to learn about what it takes to reproduce a show-worthy white tiger last quarter in my ethics of animal use class. So was the rest of the class. I'm wondering if a class of college juniors and seniors don't know about it, then how much of the general public knows?
- punx, on 06/29/2008, -0/+7They don't, and it's a shame. Everyone here acts like these morons are doing such a great thing "preserving" these animals for future generations. The Mirage Hotel/Casino has an exhibit called The Secret Garden of Siegfried and Roy, which claims that if it weren't for them, these animals would be extinct. They aren't a special sub species of tiger, they aren't a breed unto themselves. It would be like constantly breeding humans with both mental, physical, and behavioral defects over and over, then acting like they are doing the human race a favor. It's not a nice thing what they are doing.
- estacado, on 06/29/2008, -0/+6front page stories keep getting lamer and lamer.
- exscape, on 06/29/2008, -0/+6Agreed, this is pretty horrible. Even worse that they're trying to make it look as if they're doing good.
- dancandigg, on 06/29/2008, -0/+4I like turtles.
- dxtr, on 06/29/2008, -1/+5I fail to see why this has had 17 more diggs since I buried it, because of the broken link and the completely irrelevant thumbnail.
- XxModestMousexX, on 06/29/2008, -0/+3I had to check if the link was the onion, they could have been talking about some damn zoo game!
- SteveMTyler, on 06/29/2008, -0/+3I came to say what punx said. White tiger breeding is especially cruel, the deformed tigers are either killed or abandoned.

- nblsavage, on 06/29/2008, -2/+3Not all zoos are alike, many are creating excellent habitats for the animals. In some cases, zoos may be the only hope for their continued existence.

White Tiger Zoo Stars Maul Trainer. - sfmission, on 06/29/2008, -1/+0The nintendo DS (code named "white tiger") has become a hit in Japan, where visitors to the "white tiger" enclose can actually stroke them lovingly...
- TheHypnoT0AD, on 06/29/2008, -2/+0Watch out for when they get to be attention starved and start showing up on Late Night with Conan O'Brien
- NeoHomer, on 06/29/2008, -4/+1Zoo's suck. Last time I was at a zoo, the animals looked like crap and acted real strange...like an animal in a cage. Sad.
I'll never go to a zoo again, ever. Animal prison is all it is except the animals commited no crime. Caged for life for no good reason. Lame. - OC73, on 06/29/2008, -5/+1Too bad they can't just be left in the wild.
- CAPTIRISH, on 06/29/2008, -4/+0who really cares?
